कलेजा काट कर बेगमसाहिबा के कदमोमे रख दो तो भी कम होगा. वैसे भी कलेजा अपनी जगह है कहाँ ? वो तो बेगम साहिबा कब का लेकर चली गयी. अब तो बस यही कहा जाय के " दीवाना बनाना है तो दीवाना बना दे"

Dear mahakavi... The other day I heard a very old ghazal ( probably written in the 18th century) and sung by Begum Akhtar, and Mehdi hassan also. But I can not retrace it nor the words which are not pure Urdu. Cna u help. Plz

Zameen kha gai aasmaan kaise kaise.

Listening to it and looking back into a window that opens a page of my life 40 years ago, while I was a student at Lahore and a friend of mine was addicted to "Chha rehi kali ghtaa" and he would play few LPGs of Begum Akhtar. I picked up the infection from him and perhaps there is no remedy for it, as it keeps coming back in recurring fits. Thanks and credit goes 2 Mahakavi Sahib for consevation of such rare jewels. For ages i failed to find "Chhaa rehi kali ghtaa" and at last I found it. cheers

this is my favourite version of chaa rahi kali ghata...i believe it is a pvt recording made in bombay in 1956/57. i wish we knew who was accompanying her on sarangi and tabla..
