this video really helped me I was trying to figure out how to shade and highlight hair by pencil. I wonder how long that took, it usually takes me hours and hours to do something like that. But really great job you know.

Is it harder drawing on unlined paper because I use lined paper as a guideline so my drawings won't go sideways. lol. But I think that drawings looks better on unlined paper.

@HeartzandDartz its called using a heavy force and a light force.

when your at the top of the hair strand you use a heavy force of the pencil. as you get lower you lighten the pressure

@earthtiger12345 I don't know if you got a response. I did not see one but I can help with this question. Yes, it can work because it not the pencil; it is the way it is being used. The darker color (with the same pencil used in the beginning for example) is just pressed down hard where its dark and not so hard when it is not and then as you can see, some parts of the hair was not colored to create the highlight. You can also color your work w/ tracing paper 2 avoid mistakes 2 the original image

I have been researching the science behind the highlights. I mean why does it exist on some part of the hair. For ex: when a person head exposed to a light over him, the top part of his head will have some "scattered light" however just before the dark shadows set in, there will be a "boundary" between the area exposed by the light and the area does not get exposed by light which we called as highlight. I wonder why it exists.

i preffer using markers.. i use tria by letraset. theyre a bit pricey but still worth it . and promarkers by letraset along with some sharpies forr outlines / deep shadows

Auf dem letzen video ( also teil 3 ) hab ich alles aufgelistet ^_^

leider habe ich für dieses bild aber stinknormales kopiepapir benutzt, was wirklich SUUPER SCHLECHT für bunstifte sind! Kauf dir da lieber dickeres papir, damit du auch farben mischen kannst ohne dass das papir zerreisst ;)

Oh, und ich tusche nicht XD ich KANNS nicht! ich habs vor vielen jahren mal versucht, bin aber gefailt! ich benutze gaaanz dünne fineliner ^__^ das sind sehr dünne, schwarze stifte ^^
