I would say this is me, but all those stupid boys who are begging at my door don't count. Nobody INTERESTING wants me. The 13 year old at the ski resort who put his arm around me and told me he'd carry my skis? No. George, I WANT YOU TO KIDNAP ME!!!

@Songsmirth I'm wrong about that. It is Richard. huh Looks different. I remember when some of the older generation would yell at them to get a hair cut. They weren't impressed by these guys. lol My mother, who rarely went anywhere with me, went to see, "A Hard Day's Night" just in case it was too wild. What bugged her was the screaming!! lololol
@Songsmirth There were two very early BBC appearances with Pete, and the tapes do exist, but unfortunately the sound reproduction on both of them is very bad. The first time, In March of '62, they performed Dream Baby, Memphis Tennessee, and Please Mr. Postman. The second time, in June of '62, they performed Ask Me Why, Besame Mucho, and A Picture of You. Any of the BBC tapes with "clean" sound are all from after Ringo joined them. This is Ringo.
@WisMiss101 Opps. I goofed up guys. Thanks Wis for setting me right. Did they travel a lot when they were younger? I remember them going to Germany and (if my memory is correct) getting exhausted from it all but John wanted to go, so they went. It could be my imagination but I've always thought of him as the force behind the group. Also, do you know if anyone's put up the songs you've talked about with Pete, here on YT? If you have time, could you tell us what happened to Pete?
everybody on Earth loves The Beatles! They should be on the Starship Enterprise whenever it is we ever meet other life in this galaxy, cuz they are out of this world!
Yeaaa, one of the few times George & John sing the song together, no sign of Paul. George on the top, John with the low harmony here. Great middle section here too, wonderfully performed. George really sounds great doing the "uh-huh!" at the end there... really cool track/recording.
@tickyreal I firmly believe that the true beauty of music is that everyone can enjoy what they want because everyone's taste varies. Music is a personal choice that shouldn't have to be explained. I respect the fact you prefer the Everly's version better, and, think it's cool you mentioned it here in a Beatles-zone. I know we can both agree this is a beautiful song, and, both versions are wonderful.
It is George singing with John. I've been listening to George since 1963 and his voice has a 'twang' that is instantly recognised. Please remember that George was the main singer when they had the Decca auditions. He took a step back because of Paul and John's inflated egos, that's all!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Nope....still Paul and John. George could NEVER hit these highs like Paul and his nasally vocals are nothing like John's raspier voice. I've been listening to them for 75 years now......I win!!
75 years? Twit, they've only been around on record since 1961. And it's George singing with John backing him up! Your ears need washing out, boy! You lose! And badly, too.
@dougalmac54 Charming British phrases; "a twit, aren't you? Now sod off, wanker! " In the U.S., "twit" "sod off" and "wanker" are simply never used. Without a doubt, "wanker," considering its meaning, is a sharp, derogatory expression. However, "twit" and "sod off" are lame at best.
Great video! I adore George and all his spectacular contributions to the band, he truly was amazing.
Recently I got to expierence a George Harrison tribute at St. George's Hall in Liverpool, England. It really was inspiring and sad that he's gone. If you get the chance to go, DON'T MISS OUT. (:
I guess Mike McCartney and George's cousin went to the tribute, so maybe you'll get to meet someone. xp
