Hakumen doesn't have much options vs Nu, as you can see he was waiting for an opportunity, and gaining meter in the proces. Nu's lockdown game is really good and Hakumen can't just rush in there.
It's not as once sided as you make it seem, though I agree, Hakumen has to be very patient in this matchup.
Nu can't sit back and play the zoning game all day, as Hakumen can just wait patiently and gain orbs by waiting and countering Nu's 4D overhead. Nu has to stay flexible and unpredictable, otherwise she will risk Hakumen getting in there and wrecking her. Still, turtling isn't too bad for Hakumen as it could be for other characters. Not a great matchup, but not terrible either.
Weak? I'd be ok with the word "slow" cause haku feels that way to me. But he is far from weak. Good combos will take more than 3/4 of the opponents health away.
Haven't played BB yet but this game looks like a fun alternative to SF4. I've always heard that V-13 is broken and overpowered but wow, what a great Haku. Outsmarting his opponent all the way. Those 2 stomps at the end made me laugh cause it was sort of like a way to vent out his frustration of having to turtle the whole time.
I actually study this vid a while back to help mu haku against nu, I picked up alot for for this. I can't counter really high level nu yet, but those scrubby one are fairly easy picking.
V13 is broken....It's FAR to easy to win with her. Unless your opponent HIGHLY outskills you, its basically sit in the corner and spam swords. not saying the guy isn't good (his Nu is BEAST), but Hakumen had my attention the whole round.
If you counter one of Nu's sword attacks, it stops her from continuing that sword combo. It stops her in her tracks cause she can't move for a bit if she can't continue her sword combo. Least that's what I've been told.
If Nu had to use heat to do her combos then you might have an argument there. Hakumen essentially has to use all his gauge to do anything worthwhile. Nu is a zoner, so she has high mobility and low health. I don't see a problem (except that she's still way too powerful).
3:49...probably my favorite part because you know 0 is done taking all this BS from Nu, plus that was one of the best showcases of offense I've seen after an instant block. The guy's patience and skill with Haku-men should be commended for this video alone.
NU is such a bitch to fight (I main Haku as well). I mean seriously...combo from full screen away using projectiles? That's just...gay.
And to thing I was actually contemplating maining her prior to BlazBlue coming out. Once I actually got the game and played using her for a bit, I realized that I would never EVER feel good about my wins from using her.
Zero has an amazing Hakumen obviously, and this match was great.

What a great fight. I was totally rooting for Hakumen. The ending was funny though, in an expressive way. Hakumen's like, oh hella stop abusing your over zoning ability.
Hakumen has the ability to destroy projectiles even nu's super and all he would have to do is a normal move not a super. If nu was too predictable with her projectiles they would be crushed and properly timed attacks aside from that would defeat nu. He has many options against her the same applies to tager and his magnetism. It isn't that bad of a match up when the Tager or Hakumen knows how to really time the moves that crush normal projectiles attacks easily.
Tiers don't have a HUGE impact, not like in say... Brawl where Metaknight is untouchable by any other character.
But some matchups are truly unfavorable, like Haku-men vs Nu is 3.5:6.5 which still isn't completely terrible but its pretty tilted, matchups shouldn't skew past 6:4 at the most.
Actually, yes, I do play this game. I own it, in fact. And while Rachel, Arakune and Nu may be top tier, the advantage they have over, say Tager is not as big as it seems at first glance. For one thing, Tager has several attacks that go right through those projectiles.
No, Blazblue is not balanced to the point tiers don't matter. Do you even play this game? Did you even watch this video? Hakumen had to turtle HARD and exploit minor openings in Nu's offense to win. Nu, Arakune and Rachel dominate Blazblue because of their insane zoning strengths from any part of the screen. Tiers have a huge impact.
sad but true, at this point of the game is pretty evident that at least haku and tager have a lot of problems against the 3 top tier, but im sure that we would see a great change for the next revision of the game, considering how well balanced was gg ac; also there is maybe some room from improvement now that the game is out in consoles
Yes i use Tager and against a good Nu and Arakune im at a disadvantage. I served up some good Hakumen players with great battles down to the wire but nothing irritates me like Nu and arakune.
actually, once he found the minor openings did you see how much damage he did? That's what Haku-men is about! Finding small openings and exploiting them largely. That's why his drive is a counter. While not totally balanced due to zoning issues, it's pretty damn close from bottom to top tier.

That's not really true at all. Look at the other 2 top tier characters in this game, Rachel and Arakune. They are 2 of the more difficult characters to play well with in this game. Also the top tiers in smash bros melee, fox and falco, are the most technical characters in the game.
Sagat being easy to use has little to do with him being top tier, he is just a really good character with pretty much no weaknesses.

its the way that serious players have to weight the viability of a char as tournament material, this is based on the matchup data
if the game is balanced enough like GG, BF or SF2 you can say that tiers dont matter
in games like 3S, MVC2 where the tiers are evident, tiers do matter a lot
in the case of BB, the top 3 have a 7:3 win ratio in their favor against tager and haku, this of course based on both players playing with the chars at high level, in the end this matters only to serious players

3:49...probably my favorite part because you know 0 is done taking all this BS from Nu, plus that was one of the best showcases of offense I've seen after an instant block. The guy's patience and skill with Haku-men should be commended for this video alone.

NU is such a bitch to fight (I main Haku as well). I mean seriously...combo from full screen away using projectiles? That's just...gay.
And to thing I was actually contemplating maining her prior to BlazBlue coming out. Once I actually got the game and played using her for a bit, I realized that I would never EVER feel good about my wins from using her.
Zero has an amazing Hakumen obviously, and this match was great.

I completely agree. Tbh, fuck how good the nu player was, that Hakumen player was the impressive one. Against all odds and he still won. Mad props to 0 for holding his own against an S tier character.

Everytime a Nu gets owned by Tager or Haku, I come a little.
She's so dumb. Hakumen has to spend half of his matagama to do damage comparable with her BnB.

i love playing Haku-men. when you have to play against him, he's similar to Tager in the sense of, him landing one hit, can string into a HUGE combo that can destroy anyone

What a great fight. I was totally rooting for Hakumen. The ending was funny though, in an expressive way. Hakumen's like, oh hella stop abusing your over zoning ability.

Hakumen has the ability to destroy projectiles even nu's super and all he would have to do is a normal move not a super. If nu was too predictable with her projectiles they would be crushed and properly timed attacks aside from that would defeat nu. He has many options against her the same applies to tager and his magnetism. It isn't that bad of a match up when the Tager or Hakumen knows how to really time the moves that crush normal projectiles attacks easily.

Tiers don't have a HUGE impact, not like in say... Brawl where Metaknight is untouchable by any other character.
But some matchups are truly unfavorable, like Haku-men vs Nu is 3.5:6.5 which still isn't completely terrible but its pretty tilted, matchups shouldn't skew past 6:4 at the most.

Actually, yes, I do play this game. I own it, in fact. And while Rachel, Arakune and Nu may be top tier, the advantage they have over, say Tager is not as big as it seems at first glance. For one thing, Tager has several attacks that go right through those projectiles.

No, Blazblue is not balanced to the point tiers don't matter. Do you even play this game? Did you even watch this video? Hakumen had to turtle HARD and exploit minor openings in Nu's offense to win. Nu, Arakune and Rachel dominate Blazblue because of their insane zoning strengths from any part of the screen. Tiers have a huge impact.

sad but true, at this point of the game is pretty evident that at least haku and tager have a lot of problems against the 3 top tier, but im sure that we would see a great change for the next revision of the game, considering how well balanced was gg ac; also there is maybe some room from improvement now that the game is out in consoles

Yes i use Tager and against a good Nu and Arakune im at a disadvantage. I served up some good Hakumen players with great battles down to the wire but nothing irritates me like Nu and arakune.

actually, once he found the minor openings did you see how much damage he did? That's what Haku-men is about! Finding small openings and exploiting them largely. That's why his drive is a counter. While not totally balanced due to zoning issues, it's pretty damn close from bottom to top tier.

Tiers do have apart, but that has little to do with the way you play and think against other characters.. in MY opinion top tiers are just the characters easiest to use to own.. i mean like that one kid said, look at mediknight, or to look a better fighting game, look at Sagat.. easy to use because so balanced, and top tier... and i dont like him... blanka FTW lol

That's not really true at all. Look at the other 2 top tier characters in this game, Rachel and Arakune. They are 2 of the more difficult characters to play well with in this game. Also the top tiers in smash bros melee, fox and falco, are the most technical characters in the game.
Sagat being easy to use has little to do with him being top tier, he is just a really good character with pretty much no weaknesses.

Everything that bitch did was Safe to a point if Hakumen went rushing in he'd be dead if he thought he saw an opening rather than a trap. Hakumen (O) played it straight into his strengths. to bad ろ forgot to remember Hakumen bar charges the longer he play keep away with him. resulting into one of those "Soon as i get my hands on you" Moments lol!

its the way that serious players have to weight the viability of a char as tournament material, this is based on the matchup data
if the game is balanced enough like GG, BF or SF2 you can say that tiers dont matter
in games like 3S, MVC2 where the tiers are evident, tiers do matter a lot
in the case of BB, the top 3 have a 7:3 win ratio in their favor against tager and haku, this of course based on both players playing with the chars at high level, in the end this matters only to serious players

tiers are the way that tournament players meassure the viability of a char as tournament material.
in games like GG, SF2 or BF tiers doesnt matter beyond the ability of a player
in games like 3s or MVC2, they matter, if you really want to win you have to use a char on the upper levels of the tier
this of course means that the chars are been used at their maximum potential
you can see it, people complaining about tager being "cheap", when in reality he is the lowest char on the tier
