@FoxyDude915 yeah i realise that now, my copy of the game must have been slowed down, i just grew up with that tempo of these songs, so hearing them sound much faster and more up beat kinda threw me off when i played it on xbla, i must say though, when you lower the tempo of these songs, it sounds so much more epic, especially the bosses
i couldnt believe that the guy that composed the music for this game was the same guy that composed The Simpsons The Arcade. What a Talented Man.to go from Arcade Sound Quality to Megadrive quality took alot of Dedication and Hard Work.Im Glad Treasure came into our sega lives.
A bit surprised that Seven Force's theme isn't included in your selection! It has to be the most popular them from the game. Oh well, the rest of the soundtrack is great too!
This is still by far my favorite Treasure soundtrack. The music complimented the action and atmosphere so well. The GBA sequel is pretty weaksauce in comparison. It just doesn't reach the sheer hard driving urgency of the original Genesis soundtrack.
Oh, and Gunstar Heroes is one of the greatest action games ever made. That is a pure fact.
I remember my ma renting this game and bringing it home when I was a kid, and being upset because all we had at the time was a SNES, so I couldn't play it. :(
This game was awesome. I think it's much better than the new one they made for GBA. In the gameboy version they got rid of weapon combining, throwing enemies, 2 player co-op and they turned Red into a girl <_< On the POSITIVE side, I like the new bazooka, melee attacks and graphics. But they pretty much got rid of the main features I liked about the old one...
only in the North American version of the GBA game is Red officially a girl. In the Japanese...... it's pretty unsure, as they don't make it clear...... X(
Ever hear of "Jets 'n' Guns". that can pretty much take the title of best game ever too. no co-op though. Just as explosive with blood. and even more firepower
ThunerForce 4, Nice. looks just like an old version of JNG even has the sheild and rotating orbs. Music's on par too must have been what inspired them to make it. Think I'm ganna try that one.
@kenkune55 Actually, two weapons are your best friends in Expert: Lightning+Fire (Laser Sabre) for Free Shot, and Chaser+Fire (Chaser Fireball) for Fixed Shot. These two weapons cancel out weak enemy projectiles, but also destroy almost anything Seven Force throws at you.
By the way, how well do you know Gunstar Heroes, if you don't mind me asking?
I know the game fairly well, although I might be slightly rusty seeing as its been a little bit since ive played it, but I understand the story and gameplay more than the average player id say
@kenkune55 But I take it that very few have unlocked the secret of the Timeron. Only thing is to find time to record a run. Haven't played this in a long while since I got married this year.
i was only 4 when this game came out for sega and i still play the shit outta it for fun after playing 360 just brings so many good times haha damn i feel uber nerdy
i miss this..i used to play this game and so many other sega games...and then, we had a garage sale and my brother sold like half of the sega games..talk about dissapointment!!!!
i got this game on the virtual console because i heard good things about the game. im glad i spent 800 points on this game. its amazing. and i just love the music.
This game kicks so much ass. I started playing it on emulator several months ago. I can't believe i never tried it on the genesis back when i was a kid!
Just a heads up: Kazuo Hanzawa is one of Norio Hanzawa's aliases, not a separate composer.

this is actually from the xbla version, the original is slower and sounds better that way
JoeWildthing 7 months ago
@JoeWildthing No it isn't. Look at the video date. The XBLA version wasn't even close to being out yet.

Gotta love the major 3rds over the chords there at 1:26. Check out the chorus to Mandy Moore's 'Candy'.

NOT on Expert Mode, that isn't.
Given that enemies are a little more powerful, Chaser + Lightning won't cut it this time!
SaviourV 2 years ago
Unfortunately your wrong there. Once your in hard and Expert mode homing weapons are pretty usless because of their little damage.
The strongest and most effective weapon is fire+chaser. If you dont believe me just ask Xero Shinobi the best known Gunstar Hero Player

That is correct.
