  • it's not all that valuable but that's cool it has a lot of sentimental value to you!

  • The 1100. It's. Awesome I have one of those. But my old 10 shells

  • i love other 1100s but your looks great and the wood is better than ive ever seen :)

  • Great Video....well done.

    I also love the 1100.

Kind regards, from Richard in London.

  • I also have an 1100 that was handed down to me, and yes it is the most valuable gun that I would never sell.

It is a beautiful gun, and the stocks on the old models are so much better than the newer versions. It still shoots like a champ, but I prefer not to shoot it because it is such a beautiful gun. I just purchased a Remington Versa Max for hunting due to the versatility and reliability, since I already have a mantle piece.

  • I don't know if you've ever like shot that enough in one day to heat the barrel but I would think about putting a vented rib on that if all possible, it will keep the barrel more straight when it heats up

  • great vid, great gun, shoot it!!

  • my grandpa just gave me his. those guns r so badass and fun to shoot. someone gives u one of those u never sell it or give it away unless u get old and give it to ur kids or something like that. other then that u keep that thing 4eve.

  • I dont know how anyone could not like this video!

  • amazing, I'v never met eny one in my entire life that has the same exact shotgun. they havent made that model for 35 years. and also notice my user-name that is my dad's nickname BUCKSHOT. and also that shot gun is about a 1968-78 REMINGTON 1100 BUCK-MASTER.

  • when ever he brings it in to a gun stor to have it checked they offer himlike around 10 grand.

    $10,000

  • my dad the exact same gun. he sad it will be mine soon. that gun is atleast 40 years old. my dad had his for 30 years. it has the exact same markings on the metal. I have the exact same shot gun. no differnce. my dd told me that when I turn 18 it will bw mine and it will be the most valuble itemI will ever own.,

  • no the value of that is very high.

  • im 14, my dad gave me his 1100 12 gauge for my 13th birthday, he got it from his fathers neighbor, who was a competitive skeet champion, said it never jammed or misfired, the gun is around 65 years old, it never jammed or misfired on any one of us, the gun is beutiful and well engraved with origenal walnut stocks, i love it to death, and im gonna charish and hold it dear to my hart forever

  • @MABNOLA Im 14 too. I got mine from my grandpa and its a 20 gauge. fantastic for skeet.

  • i have one my grandpa gave me.

  • Beautiful to hear you talking about your gun with such affection. I have one too, also inherited from my Dad. It was made in 1964 (same year as me incidently) and I still occasionally use it today for clays.

  • @kaminera you can call remington directly and they will tell you when it was made...i did this and found that mine was made in 1968 and the barrel was 1969 i believe

  • I bought one for $400 at a gunshow. And then I found out that its worth $1400 brand new. A quick fix and it works beautifully. I love to take this to shoot trap.

  • great story man.....my dad had one in 20ga would have been mine but was stolen..but memories of that gun caused me to buy my own its a tac 4 and definitely not as pretty as his.....wont be the same handing down to my boys a plastic and ugly black gun ...oh well holds 9 and runs like a striped ass ape

  • i have one of these also...how do you tell if its a walnut or wood stock?

  • my grandpa has one. looks perfect. damn good shape and i love it. i pray he gives me it. amazing shot gun and so fun to shoot. u put up shit all over and blow it all away its fun

  • longest most boring story ever.... ugh... 6 mins of you rambling on and on about your dad and rust and ... ugh.... who cares.

  • @pugggs Me and 27,000 others care.

  • haha i thought i wazz a big boy

  • your probably did see fire come out, I love that about the 1100 sometimes the bolt moves back while the powder is still burning and you see a pretty good flash come out of the reciever, you dont see that with all that many other autos.

  • is this a strong shotgun?

  • @xxxCRAZYLOVExxx

what the fuck is a strong shotgun

  • @jackx0203 a shotgun that can use 10 gauge or lower shells, or that shoots at a higher speed, giving it more penetration if that makes sense :P

  • @jackx0203 btw havnt u played resident evil 2? it has this shotgun in it, it has a great knockback(recoil) :P and is more powerful than without the barrel and stock

  • i have the same gun. a dealer told me here that they are only worth $400

  • @peptopro17 The value is in the eye of the beholder.

  • i appreciate you showing your gun and sharing your personal memories

  • my grandfather passed it down to me also and claned it up a bit got soem rust but it adds chacter

  • yeah my 16 gauge version accepts 2 3/4 inch shells only but shoots liek a dream but hard ot get shells for

  • That's not beat up , it has lots of character ...if it could only talk and tell stories of the hunts its been on .Good video of your family heir loom. Thanks for sharing the memories of the people who have owned it.

Great gun , great story ...your dad' be proud.

  • 1100's are great sg's and can you believe they took the effort to scroll it? ...great story, BTW.

  • i have a remington 1100 12 gauge 28 inch 2 and 3 qaurter USA mint condition..guns about 30 years old aswell and berely fired mint condition it looks so nice not a mark on it still black and blue...favourite gun under the roof! they dont make them in the american model anymore so pretty pleased to have it

  • if you like this gun come look at a review mag dump, and target shooting at this video and its much cleaner too on 180boyz channel also see other reviews including a mossberg 835 ulti mag

  • Can you buy a replacement barrel for the 1100 so that it can shoot 3" Steel shot? I want to use my 1100 as a duck gun but it only shoots 2 3/4 lead or steel.

  • to me the remington 1100 is the best looking shotgun ever made. my dad owned 2. years ago he gave my uncle his first one years ago but it was recently burned up n a house fire. my dad just bought another.

  • is it a 20 gauge

  • i got one for my 12th birthday it is 1976 1100 the thing is fucking mint..............now i can take it apart and clean it blind folded in 2:21 secs in my best time

  • Dude, thats a great story. I still have my model 60 .22 my grandfather bought me at 10yrs old. That 90 dollar riffle is priceless!!

  • we have the same exact gun too.

  • @kaminera I cant really remember where I found it. Look up Remington 1100 on Wikipedia and i think there was a link on there for it.

  • I have one I got in 1972 when I was 12. My uncle had just come home from Viet Nam and was killed in an auto accident. He had just bought it .I still have it and just cleaned it properly for the first time thanks to a tutorial on here. I also have one I received in 2005 from one of my best friends who was killed in a plane crash. i'm leaving next week to take it to Oklahoma on a Sand Hill crane hunt. Both awesome guns, and more importantly awesome people. Lots of sentiment.

  • from that story, i could think that gun is more than a gun to you, but almost like family

  • Great story. I have a 1100 but in 16 guage. I'm planning on handing it to my boy when he hits 16.

  • My dad has an 1100. It's my favorite shotgun to shoot!

  • My 1100 is fixed improved cylinder. That gun is a dove slayer.

  • damn, i saw your reply and you said it doesnt have a choke? damn thats really old xD

you better clean that after using it man, that might cost 20K in the future ^o^

    sweet gun! sweet gun! =]

  • thank you for sharing that with us

  • Good to know it's more than just a gun to you.

  • I have a super similar story to my Remington 1100 20 gauge. Except for the barn part. Everything else was almost exact. By far my favorite gun I've ever shot. Happy hunting!

  • Great video! this was the first type of shotgun ive ever shot with and i loved it. this shotgun sooo much i had to go out and get a remington.....but i couldnt find the 1100 at the gun store that i wanted so i opted for the 1187 special purpose.....and by golly ive never been more impressed with remington. even tho its more heavy then most shotguns since its mostly steel instead of aluminium it feels great and has little recoil even with 3" shells. Thanks very much and good hunting.

  • thats nice man.... im ready for this years dove hunt

  • I got one too, from my paps, in 1993 when i moved away for college. Good story bro.

  • nice gun i just got my first 1100 it was made in 1968 and what a beauty! it was pretty clean for being so old i dont think very many shells went through it...thats about to change tho ; )

  • Beautiful shotgun! Thanks for sharing.

  • very nice =)

  • Comment removed

  • i have a 1100 also. Love this Shotgun. My Grandpa gave it too me. No choke as it is thread-less but what is weird is its a left handed model. I have it cleaned and she looks new. Never jams and shoots accurate!

  • Neat gun and video. Have my great granddad's 1910 Remington auto-loading shotgun.

  • haha nice gun.

You sound kinda sad when ur talkin! :(

    lol cool story

  • You got yourself a pretty gun there. A nice little piece of Remington history. I bet it serves you good. :)

  • I just picked up a '77 remington 1100 in pristine condition with the scroll marks for $350 out the door! Gotta say, that is the sweetest shooting shotgun I've ever handled!

  • where can you get one its asome

  • God my Remington's shell ejector is fucked, it's pissing me off lol

  • @dreamcastboy1 hey man, i know it's been 6 months, but they're really easy to replace. if you're talking about the ejector mounted on the bolt. but it's tricky, because if you have an older 1100, you have to buy an ejector for an 870. the newer 1100 and 11-87 ejectors are thicker. and you just need a jeweler's flathead screwdriver to get it out, and make sure you dont lose the spring and plunger, then it just slides back in without any tools

  • dude ive had that gun for about two years shot about a thousand rounds out of it kinda hurt haha but they are really good guns i love mine i have the 16 ga. and its getting kinda hard to find bullets anymore which really sucks but they will be rare so maybe they will be worth more

  • Hey man I just bought the same gun! Haven't shot it yet but was wondering what knida choke yours had. Mine is a full choke so yah would appreciate a reponse thanks!

  • @iphoneguy13 Mine doesnt have any choke at all. The barrel isnt threaded to take a choke. Guess its too old

  • @cleanstone141 If it is not threaded choke tube, then its a full. I had to buy a second barrel for skeet shooting.

  • @cleanstone141 The older shotguns had the choke built into the barrel. Screw-in chokes are a relatively new development. Your shotgun almost certainly has some choke.

  • @cleanstone141 the barrel is the choke. I have one that my dad got for christmas in 1972. The barrel is improved cylinder.

  • @cleanstone141 yeah mine is the same way. the barrel is the choke.

  • @cleanstone141 it has a FIXED choke...my remington is this way as well

  • ya man i got a shotgun that my mom was gonna give me when i was 18 but she died when i was 9.5 and and i aint got a dad so my grandparents are gonna give it to me but i dont know who made it or which model it is but i know its old so it might be this one

  • same here

  • my dad is actually giving me his , but it always jams on the second shot i think its the o-ring on the forarm , beautiful gun you have there . i got a video of my old model 50 winchester on here and i must say i really like the 1100 more definately lighter too : )

  • the reason it jams the second shot is because your shells arnt powerful enough....if u use turkey shells or buckshot it will shoot just fine

  • it could because of your shells are light it wont cycle as fast because the gun is gas operated try a heaver load.

  • i'm looking at one with two barrels. very nice gun

  • Dude, what an authentic, heartfelt story...good for you....safe hunting my friend.

  • i jus turned 17 in february and my uncle gave me his 1100. no clue how old it is. can you send me a link to where you found how old it was?

  • i want to live at your house and get a gun for my 18th birthday :)

  • beautiful shotgun handles like a dream

    i'll never let mine go

  • i got an 1100 also, it is great for hunting and skeet shooting i got the 28 inch barrel and 2 & 3/4 inch

  • nice gun im geting a mossberg 500 this saterday

  • awesome story and shotgun...

  • the fire probably didnt come from under the trigger ir probably came from behind the bolt because my 1100 has flames come out form behind the bolt from time to time i havent seen an 1100 that didnt

  • this christmass my father gave me a 1100 remington it wasent his but he bought it for me damn i was so excited whe nhe pulled it out from under his bed in the case most memoriable christmass ever

  • My Dad gave me his 1100 for Christmas one year. His father gave it to him brand new back in the early 60's. I had a friend offer me $700 for the gun and I told him I wouldn't even let it got for $10 million. Greatest gun I've ever owned. It will never leave me. My son will be handed this gun when he is of age.

  • Cleanstone very nice shotgun you have.

You and I have somthing in common.

I have two shotguns one is a 12 ga Browning that my Dad gave me when I was 16 and when my Dad pass away last yeaer he left me his 20 Ga Winchester that his step father gave him for his 16th birthday. I am going to keep both of them forever.

  • itll hold 5 without the plug and hold 2 3/4 shells

  • does this gun only hold 2 3/4 shells or can it hold 3''

  • Mine only holds 2 3/4 but I have a really old model. Pretty sure the newer ones hold 3 inch.

  • well mine too is from the 70's but i just got it passed down to me from my grandfather so i was just lookin to get some info on it. thanks. these really are beautiful guns

  • check on the barrel of your gun. It should tell you what it will shoot.

  • @cleanstone141 they do

  • I have a new one, and it holds 3" shells.

  • this gun can do it all deer small game clays.. everything

  • my dad used this gun and now i use it for trap and skeet and im only 12 and my best score is 23 out of 25 with this gun a quick question how many round does it hold

  • Well mine has a plug in it so it will only hold three rounds. With out the plug I am not sure..... i will check for you and let you know

  • ok thanks

  • will hole 5

  • Remington keeps trying to replace the 1100 with a more modern autoloader. They couldn't do it with the model 11-87 and in 2005 fell short again with the 105 cti. The model 1100 is still in production because of it's reliability and performance.

  • I'll give you $300?? jk,jk ..nice gun, looking to get one myself.

  • hey, nice presentation you did

  • Don't use it as a safe queen. I seen more gun got to hell from lack of use. Keep it clean and it will last a very long time. If you break it you can parts easy.

  • i have one too, it's a .410 bore. made in '81. excelent condition.

  • Yeah you cant beat these old guns! Took mine out again the other day. Still runs like a champ.

  • great looking gun... Same story of my dads gun, been in our family for 30 plus years, and I wouldnt sell it for any amount of money!

  • Great Vid!! I remember getting my 1100 when i was ten years old. I was going on my first dove hunt. I'm 22 now, and it still works perfectly!!

    Good luck this season.

  • Thanks!

  • Great Shotgun. Good Luck on this season.
