@202WRX stock for stock... nope. not even close man. also, that Z with stomp a mud hole in that Cob from a dig thru 1/4th. lets see Z + 2 passengers = ~3500lbs. Cob + 1 = 3800lbs... that gives the cobra a slight hp/lb advantage and the Z still pulls. and nope, the Cob is not gear limited and aero's do not come into play in this vid... only after about 130 does aero really play a factor... and yes the stock Cob can not overcome its aero's at highspeed.... not enough power. biased much?

The Camaro SS is a little over 2 inches longer, 1.6 inches wider, and actually 1.5 inches shorter than a 2011 Mustang GT. It only weighs 250lbs more. Mustangs are getting lighter? 92 Mustang GT=2834lbs. 95 Mustang GT=3281lbs, 05 Mustang GT= 3450lbs, 2011 Mustang GT=3612. Don't even get me started on the 2 tons of fun Shelby GT500. I own an S2000 and and am shopping for a Terminator.
@Paintballer4life117 ill admit, the 5.0 does have some technological advancements over the LSx, thats pretty much it though..but the 302 has 412 hp and 390 ft lbs tq at flywheel. the LSx in the new camaro has 426 hp and 400 ft lbs tq, but ill give it to ford, they did a great job with the new gt, im not much for the new camaro, i actually like the new mustang more, but i like the ls series engines much more, theyre just more basic and reliable than the 302's and 281's..
the new gt has a better suspension and much lighter aswell. the your ss gets 425 ouf of a 6.2 vs a 5.0. ford is moping up the competition. and im sure they what to keep it that way.

ok about the psi difference: the extra 11psi the cobra had should have more than made up for the weight difference. and fuck the c.i. bullshit. there are 1.8l Hondas making 800 hp so stop crying about that shit. you guys say the mod motors are better than the pushrods but everytime an LS car beats a stang, people cry "it has a bigger motor not fair!" well this guy had less than half the boost and STILL pulled him! i think this is a case of Pushrod > Mod motor.

ford did it right with the cobra. especially 2003 and 2004. cast iron, forged pistons, 7k rev limit with dohc. i've always wanted a vette, but i would never race an 03-04 cobra with one.
@wilkinskid1 i love vettes but shit man, people are always saving 4.6 vs 5.7 and the weight difference. thats only proving that the vette has way more potential then most ANY car and imagine this vette with the same psi he would have blew past him cause of the better engineering of the vette (less weight, stronger naturally aspirated engine for better potential)
@Soulscarz i know what u mean. :) i live 20 mins from Lingenfelter performance. there have been 1300 hp machines come from Decatur Indiana. enof to make Veyron look slow. one such c5 raced a blue angel and hit 60 in 1.97 seconds with just 800 hp. im not saying vette is slow, just pointing out several advantages the 03-04 cobra had in this race. :) not to mention that the cobra was running 11 psi more. mathematically about 3.8 or 4 litres more displacement.

One clutch size? yeah...but they make PLENTY of aftermarket clutches that will handle the power. Do a little research before posting next time. As for the vette, it weighs less and is prob. not running as much boost or flowing as much CFM as the Cobra. They are both nice cars, but i'd take the Ford.
lol... I like how when the cobra shows up they say stock clutch. When the truth is, im a cobra owner and those year cobras only have one size clutch for them, they dont make anything too special for it!!! And I raced the same year z06 but with 6psi instead of 8psi in my stock 99 cobra and that thing had me by like 10 car links from 50mph to 100mph!!! We did this in a 35mph zone by the boatlaunch in new orleans/jefferson parish line!!!
@lopezorozco its 5.7l with that z06 they just have different injectors and intake manifold than base corvettes, but 19 psi is really pushing it..if that corvette was running 19 psi it would probly be able to go about 220..easily and would probly be pushing 700-800 hp..both of these cars are badass though!
@rob32671 any engine can handle 19 psi, but just not for very long. the cobra in this video probly had to have a shitton of hardening (rods, lifters, heads..etc) on the internals on this engine, otherwise theyre not gonna be runnin 18 psi all the time...also, you have no idea what a vette engine can handle until you try, never underestimate the LSx engines, they are very well made engines..but youre just another fanboy who likes only ford and nothing else im assuming..

LOL at the fail. C5s all had 5.7 Liters. The C5 Z06 had a LS6 Variant of the LS1. It had a better cam, better heads & intake manifold. It also weighed less than a regular C5.

lol where are you getting 4.6 vs. 6.2? that vette was a c5 vette with an LS6 engine which is a 5.7 and was underated from the factory and was actually rater at over 425hp stock N/A compared to the supercharged 4.6's 390hp and what you also failed to realize is due to the different setups of the engines 5.7 pushrod vs. S/C 4.6 OHC the 4.6 has a larger overall surface area along with more weight compared to the 5.7 so although the 5.7 has larger displacement it is done so in a smaller
and lighter weight engine. so you have a BIG, heavy supercharged engine pushing 390hp (stock) vs. a light weight,compact engine pushing over 425hp (stock) hmm which is better? so yea when he said LS power he was right :) 19psi on that KB and it doesnt stand a chance :) very clearly in the second race the vette was in the lead and was pulling slightly and had another gear left hahahaha
Too bad that anywhere past 500 hp you're going to need a built LS engine, us cobra guys, don't. The cobra is underrated at 390 hp, in reality they dyno close to that at the wheels and are really making 420-430bhp out of a smaller displacement built for boost more technologically advanced engine. No wonder GM needed a bailout and Ford didn't. Lets see a stock LSx engine live at 650 Rwhp for over 80,000 miles.... won't happen, but for a engine that is BUILT FORD TOUGH, it will.

the c5 z's 5.7 is larger in CI but is lighter weight,less complex,and smaller in surface area. in theory more cubes yet less weight and more power N/A and distributes the weight of the car ALOT better,cobra=less cubes YET more weight,less power from factory even with boost, and throws all the weight in the front of the car not to mention all the engines weight is on top of the engine while the LS6's weight alot better distributed through the engine :) oh and do notice the work done to the c5
You're comparing a brand new 2 seat sports car to a pony car 4 seater that was designed 7 years ago, you fail. A c6 z06 is an awesome car, Im not knocking it, but for under $20,000 you can't touch the potential of a cobra for its bang for the buck, even GM guys admit that.
lol the DOHC S/C 4.6 is big because A.its DOHC B. its supercharged (all its components add over 100lbs alone) . ive seen bolt on cobras at 460hp but never over 500hp sorry. oh and lets not forget about supercharger heat soak :) but you can run the N/A c5 z06 all day long and get consistant numbers oh and i never compared to c6 z06 to the cobra that is just pure embarassment much like it embarasses todays cobras but in its time the cobra was around 38k-40k and the c5 z06 was around 51k BUT
your not taking into account the overall performance of the car the corvette was an all around performer while the cobra was like any other ford car only fast in a straight line. while the cobra was FINALLY a car that could actually compete with the LS1 camaros after years of the mustang gt getting its ass whipped while the z06 was competing on track with some of the top foregn car in the world. the cobra doesnt hold a candle next to a z06 sorry :(

yes the 4.6 dohc is a big motor physically but it mkes up for that with the 4 valve heads and the cams which are good to 800hp. How about 500 rwhp with boltons? The only thing you can compare to a cobra is a 2 seater sports car? Lol. And again, I have yet to see any stock LSx engine live at 650 rwhp for 80,000 miles, ive seen plenty of cobra's do that and there engine hasn't been changed from the factory except for a more efficient supercharger. Its also not hard to drop 300 lbs off a cobra.
I will agree with you that a LS engine from the factory will not handle AS MUCH boost with out changing internals as the cobra BUT lets not forget the cobra comes prepared since its charged from the factory the LS engines are N/A BUT they are safe at 8-9 psi and clearly as you can see from the video thats all thats needed to own a cobra :) once a car is modded there is no end to the posibilites but one thing will never change stock 04 cobra vs. stock 04 c5 z =bye bye cobra :)
The cobra was also under rated from the factory. The Z06 is faster from the factory due to less weight. The Cobra is by far the best bang for you buck.

382rwhp your a very lucky man considering most after adjusted for weather conditions only make around 360 which would be the same as the naturally aspirated much lighter, and much smaller engine of the z06. and as far as the price difference like i said before congratulations you have yourself a 1000hp car that is fast in a straight line and NOTHING ELSE with the z06 you get so much more car, handling,braking,top speed, MPG my friends bone stock cobra gets about 12-15mpg compared to a vette's 25
-30 mpg. big price difference but also once again the cobra was proud to be able to FINALLY beat an LS1 camaro BUT for ALOT more money while the corvette was out proving american can build a car that is not only fast in a straight line BUT can hold its own with the top competitors on a track. and lets not forget that both new in 04' would come warrantied and you wouldnt want to do anything to void your warranty so you would b getting your ass handed to you by vette's until it ran out :)

The Camaro SS is a little over 2 inches longer, 1.6 inches wider, and actually 1.5 inches shorter than a 2011 Mustang GT. It only weighs 250lbs more. Mustangs are getting lighter? 92 Mustang GT=2834lbs. 95 Mustang GT=3281lbs, 05 Mustang GT= 3450lbs, 2011 Mustang GT=3612. Don't even get me started on the 2 tons of fun Shelby GT500. I own an S2000 and and am shopping for a Terminator.

@Paintballer4life117 ill admit, the 5.0 does have some technological advancements over the LSx, thats pretty much it though..but the 302 has 412 hp and 390 ft lbs tq at flywheel. the LSx in the new camaro has 426 hp and 400 ft lbs tq, but ill give it to ford, they did a great job with the new gt, im not much for the new camaro, i actually like the new mustang more, but i like the ls series engines much more, theyre just more basic and reliable than the 302's and 281's..

ok about the psi difference: the extra 11psi the cobra had should have more than made up for the weight difference. and fuck the c.i. bullshit. there are 1.8l Hondas making 800 hp so stop crying about that shit. you guys say the mod motors are better than the pushrods but everytime an LS car beats a stang, people cry "it has a bigger motor not fair!" well this guy had less than half the boost and STILL pulled him! i think this is a case of Pushrod > Mod motor.

ford did it right with the cobra. especially 2003 and 2004. cast iron, forged pistons, 7k rev limit with dohc. i've always wanted a vette, but i would never race an 03-04 cobra with one.

@Soulscarz i know what u mean. :) i live 20 mins from Lingenfelter performance. there have been 1300 hp machines come from Decatur Indiana. enof to make Veyron look slow. one such c5 raced a blue angel and hit 60 in 1.97 seconds with just 800 hp. im not saying vette is slow, just pointing out several advantages the 03-04 cobra had in this race. :) not to mention that the cobra was running 11 psi more. mathematically about 3.8 or 4 litres more displacement.

One clutch size? yeah...but they make PLENTY of aftermarket clutches that will handle the power. Do a little research before posting next time. As for the vette, it weighs less and is prob. not running as much boost or flowing as much CFM as the Cobra. They are both nice cars, but i'd take the Ford.

lol... I like how when the cobra shows up they say stock clutch. When the truth is, im a cobra owner and those year cobras only have one size clutch for them, they dont make anything too special for it!!! And I raced the same year z06 but with 6psi instead of 8psi in my stock 99 cobra and that thing had me by like 10 car links from 50mph to 100mph!!! We did this in a 35mph zone by the boatlaunch in new orleans/jefferson parish line!!!

@lopezorozco its 5.7l with that z06 they just have different injectors and intake manifold than base corvettes, but 19 psi is really pushing it..if that corvette was running 19 psi it would probly be able to go about 220..easily and would probly be pushing 700-800 hp..both of these cars are badass though!

@rob32671 any engine can handle 19 psi, but just not for very long. the cobra in this video probly had to have a shitton of hardening (rods, lifters, heads..etc) on the internals on this engine, otherwise theyre not gonna be runnin 18 psi all the time...also, you have no idea what a vette engine can handle until you try, never underestimate the LSx engines, they are very well made engines..but youre just another fanboy who likes only ford and nothing else im assuming..

LOL at the fail. C5s all had 5.7 Liters. The C5 Z06 had a LS6 Variant of the LS1. It had a better cam, better heads & intake manifold. It also weighed less than a regular C5.

Why must people bench race on every ford vs. chevy video on here? Yeah they both cost a bit but they both can make a lot of power, but it all comes down to personal preference. The corvette handles better but the mustang has a blower. A lilttle money can fix any problem. lol where are you getting 4.6 vs. 6.2? that vette was a c5 vette with an LS6 engine which is a 5.7 and was underated from the factory and was actually rater at over 425hp stock N/A compared to the supercharged 4.6's 390hp and what you also failed to realize is due to the different setups of the engines 5.7 pushrod vs. S/C 4.6 OHC the 4.6 has a larger overall surface area along with more weight compared to the 5.7 so although the 5.7 has larger displacement it is done so in a smaller

Too bad that anywhere past 500 hp you're going to need a built LS engine, us cobra guys, don't. The cobra is underrated at 390 hp, in reality they dyno close to that at the wheels and are really making 420-430bhp out of a smaller displacement built for boost more technologically advanced engine. No wonder GM needed a bailout and Ford didn't. Lets see a stock LSx engine live at 650 Rwhp for over 80,000 miles.... won't happen, but for a engine that is BUILT FORD TOUGH, it will.

the c5 z's 5.7 is larger in CI but is lighter weight,less complex,and smaller in surface area. in theory more cubes yet less weight and more power N/A and distributes the weight of the car ALOT better,cobra=less cubes YET more weight,less power from factory even with boost, and throws all the weight in the front of the car not to mention all the engines weight is on top of the engine while the LS6's weight alot better distributed through the engine :) oh and do notice the work done to the c5

lol the DOHC S/C 4.6 is big because A.its DOHC B. its supercharged (all its components add over 100lbs alone) . ive seen bolt on cobras at 460hp but never over 500hp sorry. oh and lets not forget about supercharger heat soak :) but you can run the N/A c5 z06 all day long and get consistant numbers oh and i never compared to c6 z06 to the cobra that is just pure embarassment much like it embarasses todays cobras but in its time the cobra was around 38k-40k and the c5 z06 was around 51k BUT

No, the reason I'm done arguing is because you fail to realize that comparing a 2 seat sports car and the fastest car that chevy has to a 4 seat pony car is pointless. A cobra was never meant to compete with a corvette, the top of chevrolet, but it does quite well, despite being heavier and the vette costing almost twice msrp. Ever hear of a stock vette engine making 1188 rwhp? Hellions stock motor cobra does. Hmmm decisions decisions. Besides I can still haul 2 chicks, you can't! LOL.

ok next we have the ford GT vs. the Corvette z06 starting with MSRP's ford GT=$150,000, Z06=$72,000 (hmm theres the double the price you were speaking of lol) performance numbers. yes the 03' 04' cobra is fast compard to a much cheaper out dated camaro but like i said with simple bolt ons compared to a stock cobra the camaro would own the cobra for still a much cheaper price. SO whats left in 03' 04' to compare the cobra to hmm THE C5 CORVETTE Z06 WHICH DOMINATES THE COBRA SORRY LITTLE BUDDY :) so now you can take your POS cobra and trade it in on a real car preferrably a c6 z06 :)

yes the 4.6 dohc is a big motor physically but it mkes up for that with the 4 valve heads and the cams which are good to 800hp. How about 500 rwhp with boltons? The only thing you can compare to a cobra is a 2 seater sports car? Lol. And again, I have yet to see any stock LSx engine live at 650 rwhp for 80,000 miles, ive seen plenty of cobra's do that and there engine hasn't been changed from the factory except for a more efficient supercharger. Its also not hard to drop 300 lbs off a cobra.

I will agree with you that a LS engine from the factory will not handle AS MUCH boost with out changing internals as the cobra BUT lets not forget the cobra comes prepared since its charged from the factory the LS engines are N/A BUT they are safe at 8-9 psi and clearly as you can see from the video thats all thats needed to own a cobra :) once a car is modded there is no end to the posibilites but one thing will never change stock 04 cobra vs. stock 04 c5 z =bye bye cobra :)

The cobra was also under rated from the factory. The Z06 is faster from the factory due to less weight. The Cobra is by far the best bang for you buck.
04 Cobra...$38,575...mine made 382rwhp
04 Z06...$52,720...typically make 360rwhp
Thats a difference of $14,145
With that money I can go out and put on a Hellion Hellraiser and make over 1000+ hp on the stock motor, with supporting mods. Name another V8 that can handle that kind of power on a stock motor.

382rwhp your a very lucky man considering most after adjusted for weather conditions only make around 360 which would be the same as the naturally aspirated much lighter, and much smaller engine of the z06. and as far as the price difference like i said before congratulations you have yourself a 1000hp car that is fast in a straight line and NOTHING ELSE with the z06 you get so much more car, handling,braking,top speed, MPG my friends bone stock cobra gets about 12-15mpg compared to a vette's 25

-30 mpg. big price difference but also once again the cobra was proud to be able to FINALLY beat an LS1 camaro BUT for ALOT more money while the corvette was out proving american can build a car that is not only fast in a straight line BUT can hold its own with the top competitors on a track. and lets not forget that both new in 04' would come warrantied and you wouldnt want to do anything to void your warranty so you would b getting your ass handed to you by vette's until it ran out :)

@TaylorGolf4 i know that on my 03 z06with ls4 cam, headers,x pipe,intake and pull pullies...i run 485hp. 460 to the wheels....i could throw a paxton sc on it and runn double what i am..ofcourse with supporting internals..the ls7 will hold 800 easy...wish mine was ls7 =( but i cant complain i got mine with 17k on the car for 23,000 and mod red seats lol...

im a vette guy through and through, i own a stock 03 z06 and ill admit it the vette was hardly faster, but be fair and look it up before you speak the vette is a 5.7 LS6 and the mustang is somewhere around 3600 lbs, vette is 3200 ish. and the drag coificient isnt to far off, and dosent make a big difference at the speeds their going
