I didn't like it. Or rather, I didn't like the ending. The whole movie was solid but standard, it makes you wait for the glorious ending and it never comes. Possibly the most disappointing ending in any movie ever. Watch "Letters from Iwo Jima" instead.

This movie works on so many levels, with so many themes, ranging from the decline of the American industrial base and American way of life, along with post-60's urban decay and cultural disintegration, to melting pot failure...

This movie is a perfect example of what is happening to this country. You have an "old timer" who respects his property and has worked hard and has the nicest house on the block and then the savages move in and I don't necessarily mean Koreans, could be blacks, Mexicans whatever and the neighborhood goes to shit. It's happening everywhere and believe me I see it everyday. Truly sad that people don't have the values and respect that his generation was known for.
