I can't thank the management of YouTube enough for these lost presentations of an American musical form whose roots have all but been obscured in the rush for sales and dubious claims to originality. For all of you who have listened to this electrifying presentation by Mr. Wilson, I do ask that you review a much earlier R&B forerunner named Wynonie Harris singing "Don't Roll Those Blueshot Eyes At Me." Much has been done to obscure the early pioneers of R&B, later named Rock & Roll.

Sounds better than some recent digital remasters i've heard, you can barely hear the band on CD (and it's not faded out early either!).

One of the artists that Michael Jackson acknowledged as his inspiration, along with James Brown. Anyone who's seen Jackie tear the roof off a theater, stage or TV studio (see the various "Shindig" clips) would agree, the man earned his nickname, "Mr. Excitement".
