  • i made it the Final Gear my litlle program show with all those styles check out in my channel!!!

  • Song is Hans Zimmer - God Particle

  • I made it my videos is much better look in my channel

    tank you

  • @danielbergo Yours is another style I guess.. just like Top Gear uses different styles nearly every week these days ;-)

  • good work,

but still... top gear has some pretty epic film crew that won't be that easy to replace

  • @mazinais31 Absolutely true - that in combination with their visual/art director and you're in for epic shots. At least mostly, they seem to be 'lacking' their epicness in the last series.

Alas - all we can do is learn how to do it with minimal staff and effort - ;-)

  • could almost picture mr. clarkson speaking in my head

  • @Qipt Thanks for the generous compliment ;-)

  • Lol that slowdown was epic five stars five stars

  • Top Gear use a range of filters on the cameras themselves using a Matte Box - some of the colouring is done during editing, but the majority is done optically - saves time (this is what I have heard).

  • Correct, and if done right - using a matte box saves a lot of time indeed. But the trick is how to do it without a matte box. That's the approach I tried here...

  • Completely agree! I love the look, but I don't have a Matte Box either lol, so I just use a couple of coloured grads and 3-way colour correction, does the job - very much like your technique!

  • Correct. The Photographers at top gear, especially when they started off the first few series, used ND graduated filters (or color graduated filters) in front of the lens, sometimes rotated at angles to get these types of effects.

  • You don't need a matte box,... just standard screw on filter thread nd filters. A graduated nd filter will give you the dramatic sky look without affecting the exposure of the car in the shot. Also if u can shoot manual then use a really fast shutter speed and open the iris to compensate. This will give you the almost metallic top gear 'stuttering' look

  • oops, just spotted towert7 already mentioned the graduated nd's :)

  • @UltraWhammy I'll be shooting a new car-related video not too long from now. This time it won't be a lousy Volvo - this time around I'll go for the Tesla Roadster ;-)

  • @MrJonnyJones Update: I doesn't really save that much time anymore. With current computer systems it can be done in post in very little time. There are a plethora of plugins which can do these coloring effects with the click of a button - like i.e. Red Giant's Magic Bullet QuickLooks

  • mooi gedaan man;)

  • ah what a beautiful car

  • huh?!
