if you don't mind my saying, i think you should leave the wood the way it is, every scratch on it has a story and memories of the people who used it. It's like carving your name on a tree, you leave it there. Like an old ship, if it could talk it would tell about the hardships and dangers and happy days too, lol, blessing to ya all
Defiantly a nice item to have around, from what I've seen on your vids you would have no problem learning how to sew at least basic sewing. keep up the good work

@truebelieving That was was essentially my wife's thoughts on it also. She felt that the wear and scratches give it some character.
