  • RIP johnny xxx

  • JT wasn't a good guitARIST

  • @donnybasshero yeah he was. he wasn't a good technical guitar player but he innovated a guitar style that is still used by a lot guitarists today.

  • They went way out of their way to NOT do it like Johnny. Very thoughtful. They were his best friends.

  • R.I.P Jay Julian. This one goes out to you.

  • R.I.P Jay Julian. This one goes out to you as well, lonely Planet Boy.

  • I met J.T .once and he was really cool.

  • J.T. tore dick sucken sylvane a new asshole, many times over. Johansen is cool, but the new guitarist is a punk ass bitch.

  • david johansen looks like he is about to cry at the start of this song and when he's singing x

  • David Johansen looks like mick jagger.

    and thats not a complement

  • @prideandhonour777 i'd like to see what you look like when you're 63 years old

  • What a belt buckle man.

  • sweet tribute, syl does a great job on this.... love it..

  • A real cool tribute to their friend, JT,

    thanks for posting.

  • this is probably the best vocal performance by David Johansen that i've ever seen

  • @zepps88 Yes, and you really need to see them live. He is perfect.

  • why not do one for billy doll or jerry nolan? :(

  • They didn't write the sad song....Johnnie did.

I've seen them three times, and this song gets better each time...

  • first of all his name was johnny, and nolan did

  • @DrJTG They wrote Lonely Planet Boy, but not Arms around.

  • @FuckThisCentury They have often dedicated this to them. I've seen NYDolls live several times, and Sylvain said this at the show a few days ago: "This one is for the Dolls that are not with us anymore...Jerry, Billy, Arthur and of course Johnny."

  • i still remember the vocalist sang "personality crisis" sooo lively..and now i felt sad i cant even jump with the lyrics "fly!!!" in jet boy

  • This version is pretty good, I was surprised

  • The "Arms/Planet Boy" medley is also meant to show that "Arms" was a brilliant re-write of "Lonely Planet Boy".

  • this is really recent; so glad david jo isn't wearing that ridic turban.

  • ahead of their time...

  • makes you really miss thunders and just the whole sound of the original dolls when you listen to this...we should cherish sylvain and david as long as their still with us because their some of the most underated hero's ever..rip our fallen dolls

  • cherish Arthur "Killer" Kane. David 's actions were/are NOTHING to cherish...

  • he means cherish the dolls who are still ALIVE. why do you not like David?

  • r.i.p Johnny Thunders

  • ANYONE GOT THE MP3?

  • damn that mother fucker is skinny as fuck lay off theheroin

  • david dosn't do heroin i don't think. probably what ever iggy pop does

  • David Johansen had been sober for years at the time of this reunion show.

  • Oh, ok. thanks for the info.

  • man he messed up the lyrics

  • I think he was mainly singing it as an intro- just to get the flavor of "You can't..." cause it's Johnny's song, if you know what I'm saying. It's really cool how they put these songs together I think.

  • great song!!! Hey Johnny! you're the best!!

  • I didn't know much about the Dolls either until I watched the Arthur Kane film on cable.

Too bad Johnny and Jerry had to become Junkies. What a waste.

  • They never were junkies. I don't ever like to put them like that. They were just people that had some problems with drugs. They were truly good people though, I strongly know that.

  • johnny and jerry (and walter) were junkies. period.

  • I heard that Walter didn't do hard drugs like JT and JN

  • well walter did heroin for a while but maintained himself and cleaned up in the early 80s for good..he wasent a big user but still used...im glad hes still here i seen him with the waldos live a couple yrs ago hes a rock n roll underrated guitar god

  • @ChineseR0ck No, in fact, Lure had some sort of Wall Steet job, as I once heard it.

  • @ChineseR0ck One of the few times I talked to Johnny, he noticed this black and gold glitter scarf I was wearing (around my head like a bandana), and said, "You gotta give me that, man." I turned him down.

  • @gymnastix you get a D- for that

  • Then Johnny eyed this "Rude Gays" button (with the checkerboard design of ska/Twin-Tone Records, etc.) I was wearing, grabbed me by the lapels of my jacket, and said, "You gotta give me that, man. Walter would love that!" When I refused him, he offered me $50 for the button. But I figured, if Johnny Thunders was willing to pay me $50 for something other than heroin, it must be worth keeping.

  • @ChineseR0ck After Johnny died, I thought, if ever I ran into Walter Lure, I would just give the buton to him now, as a tribute to Johnny.

So Walter, if you're out there, I have a gift for you, from your old pal Johnny.

  • @ChineseR0ck @ChineseR0ck For the record, I lost that glitter scarf, took it to my first reab (along with a leopard-skin print shirt), figured I'd need something cool to wear to a rehab party, which shows you how ignorant I was going into that place.

  • @ChineseR0ck I guess I should have given Johnny the scarf, at least someone who appreciated and would have worn it would have had it, instead of its fate of winding up in the trash.

I stopped drinking alcohol in 1992, have been on methadone since about 2000. It's not a great life, but at least no more dope sickness.

  • because if they can play the guitar well, they must be a good person.

  • They WERE junkies.

  • jerry had a stroke and went into coma and never woke up. he didn't o'd

  • Thanks, Syl. That was nice.

  • I know little about the DOLLS 'but I watched the AUTHER KANE documentary this mornig and at the end a song is played that I loved though 1st time I heard it. It has a line let me,let me,let me is all that sticks in my tiny brain! IIf you can possibly know the song I am talking about ,what is it?HELP!

  • please please please let me get what i want-the smiths

  • fucken awesome!

  • Cool tribute. I've seen the reconstiuted Dolls a couple of times...and again tomorrow in Detroit. I look forward to this part of the show. They aren't what they were, but they can't possibly be. They are all we have left. Damn.

  • it's definitely different from Johnny's original song, but it's alright. and it's sweet that they did it for him as a tribute.

  • I think it's great :)

  • Yeah, me too, I think it's great.

  • this is so sad!
