@FuckThisCentury They have often dedicated this to them. I've seen NYDolls live several times, and Sylvain said this at the show a few days ago: "This one is for the Dolls that are not with us anymore...Jerry, Billy, Arthur and of course Johnny."
makes you really miss thunders and just the whole sound of the original dolls when you listen to this...we should cherish sylvain and david as long as their still with us because their some of the most underated hero's ever..rip our fallen dolls
I think he was mainly singing it as an intro- just to get the flavor of "You can't..." cause it's Johnny's song, if you know what I'm saying. It's really cool how they put these songs together I think.
They never were junkies. I don't ever like to put them like that. They were just people that had some problems with drugs. They were truly good people though, I strongly know that.
well walter did heroin for a while but maintained himself and cleaned up in the early 80s for good..he wasent a big user but still used...im glad hes still here i seen him with the waldos live a couple yrs ago hes a rock n roll underrated guitar god
@ChineseR0ck One of the few times I talked to Johnny, he noticed this black and gold glitter scarf I was wearing (around my head like a bandana), and said, "You gotta give me that, man." I turned him down.
Then Johnny eyed this "Rude Gays" button (with the checkerboard design of ska/Twin-Tone Records, etc.) I was wearing, grabbed me by the lapels of my jacket, and said, "You gotta give me that, man. Walter would love that!" When I refused him, he offered me $50 for the button. But I figured, if Johnny Thunders was willing to pay me $50 for something other than heroin, it must be worth keeping.

@ChineseR0ck@ChineseR0ck For the record, I lost that glitter scarf, took it to my first reab (along with a leopard-skin print shirt), figured I'd need something cool to wear to a rehab party, which shows you how ignorant I was going into that place.
@ChineseR0ck I guess I should have given Johnny the scarf, at least someone who appreciated and would have worn it would have had it, instead of its fate of winding up in the trash.
I stopped drinking alcohol in 1992, have been on methadone since about 2000. It's not a great life, but at least no more dope sickness.
I know little about the DOLLS 'but I watched the AUTHER KANE documentary this mornig and at the end a song is played that I loved though 1st time I heard it. It has a line let me,let me,let me is all that sticks in my tiny brain! IIf you can possibly know the song I am talking about ,what is it?HELP!
Cool tribute. I've seen the reconstiuted Dolls a couple of times...and again tomorrow in Detroit. I look forward to this part of the show. They aren't what they were, but they can't possibly be. They are all we have left. Damn.

this is the difference between Johnny and Syl & David.he really cheesed it up here, the best way to pay tribute is to capture the spirit of a song.Arthur and Johnny and Jerry.
Syl is a sap and David is a snake of a person ,but a NY Doll none the less

@donnybasshero yeah he was. he wasn't a good technical guitar player but he innovated a guitar style that is still used by a lot guitarists today.

They went way out of their way to NOT do it like Johnny. Very thoughtful. They were his best friends.

The "Arms/Planet Boy" medley is also meant to show that "Arms" was a brilliant re-write of "Lonely Planet Boy".

@ChineseR0ck After Johnny died, I thought, if ever I ran into Walter Lure, I would just give the buton to him now, as a tribute to Johnny.
So Walter, if you're out there, I have a gift for you, from your old pal Johnny.
