@Brennna I hunt because i like to not because it makes me feel like a " big man " thats just one thing i dont get.........us hunters dont care about tree hugers or bother them but the other way around all hell breaks loose :P
worst thing you could ever do is draw the gun over the head of other shooters like yer man just done , but if you where going to make a video you would make a good one with good high fast birds lol.
yeah stick to your own birds not your neighbering guns! and like wise for the chap to the right of you! he was shooting at your bird over your left shoulder! fucking cowboy!
Using the wrong cartridges is not good. I am a gamekeeper, and those birds are suffering, that is not fair!! Especially with 1 16 bore, at those distances, 32 gram or at least size 6 should be the minimum!!
starting a web site for driven shooting in the UK shortly for the US market, Stoke Edith is the best there is and not the silly prices of other shoots too. Its lots of fun, very friendly (and no drive by shootings like NJ ;) )
If u ask me that bloke is a bloody good shot , and using a side by side which is more traditional . I enjoyed watching this video. Some good quality birds aswell which always makes the day worth while. Keep it up (Y)
I don't see the point of breeding birds and then shooting at them. Either, those on shoots are dim and should be pitied for their lack of intelligence and sense or, they know exactly what they're trying to do and should be scorned for their unattractive meanness. Either way, I win.
Well aren't you a retard. Your analysis 'breeding birds and then shooting them', has some very obvious parallels with the beef industry. Any meat you eat is bread to be killed and eaten, in this case however the birds have a chance of survival (all be it slight). And I do not believe that as a shooter my intelligence or humanity are in doubt. On another topic this guy is a very good shot!
@sklenge what about breeding chickens, keeping them in massive sheds, feeding them on al kinds of steroids to grow and then killing them at 5 weeks of age. is that not cruel? these birds will live for at least 4 months and many will survive through a season.
hes not lazy its called party hunting theres a strategey to it a few guys are walking around flushing pheasants and a few of them guys are walking towards the blockers (which would the guy in the video) who r standing there in case they miss. idiot dont know a thing bout hunting.
Not really because if a bird is low enough to be dangerous then it isn't shot at. If you shoot at low birds (and are perceived to be dangerous) then you aren't asked back by the owner of the shoot. As a result of this shooting is one of the safest sports in the UK.
Sorry mate, I was replying to an earlier post about wearing high visibility jackets. I totally agree with you about the cartridges. Unfortunately as you know, a lot of birds aren't cleanly killed when they are shot at due to poor aim and poor cartridges. To be fair to the guy, he isn't the worst shot that I have seen.
Lol this happened to me the other day, but i just shot it again as it was coming towards me using the bottom barrel, so it ended up being completely minced :)
he was a good shot when they came out slow but when they were coming out thick and fast he messed up lol. very good video, shows birds having a sporting chance!
But didn't they pass a law about 10yrs back making it illegal to own any firearm? I remember seeing video of all these beautiful old firearms being turned to rubble. What exactly are the restrictions etc.? I don't need a dissertation just a clarification.
The British Government foolishly banned all 'firearms' as a result of the Dunblane Killings as a kneejerk reaction to a terrible crime. This only peanalised lawful holders of Firearms Licenses. A Firearm (handgun & rifle)is different in law to a Shotgun. BTW, shooting etiquette only allows for shooting in front of you and to your right, taking to the left is 'poaching'. Bad boy Matt!
No law has been passed banning all firearms in the UK. Certain restrictions were set in place regarding legally held weapons and the whole application and security aspect was tightened. Shooting is alive and well in the UK. Take a read of the Firearms Act. It is quite complex, but makes for interesting reading.
Are you confused between a Firearms License(rifles) and a shotgun certificate? I agree about shooting BTW, I am a busy game shooter and look after about 1600acres of farmland for pest control.
I certainly am not confused mate. I am a serving Police Constable dealing with Firearms and shotgun enquiries on a daily basis. Both are covered under the firearms act. I was previously a gamekeeper on a 20,000 acre sporting estate for about 10 years.
Its not illegal at all. To own one lawfully you have to have a licence.
