Ledger gave the performance of a lifetime...wheither it was on his own accord or not, he was literally drawn into depression from this role..but some of the best acting Ive ever seen in my life...You never go full ret**d.
This film, music , acting gives me goosebumps the sequel will not be as good as this i can garantee you that, a good movie but no where near to this standard....these films really showed the dark side...yet i wish they showed more darkness this film is one for everyone to rememember
When I first saw this movie after I left the cinema I was in ore it was just so good! it brought the standard of movies up forever I have no idea how they will follow that with a sequel can't wait til catwoman comes in!
I remember seeing this trailer in theaters...everybody heard that Heath was going to be the joker..but when they FINALLY showed him at 0:57..I swear there was a echo of gasps!...and then silence for the rest of the trailer...very epic!!
@jedelman07 No his last movie was a flop It was the imaginaruim of Dr parnassus cause he didn't finish it johnnny depp had to but it wasn't a good ending to his career
At the end of the movie, Joker was still alive. He was laughing his ass off. But, it looked like there would be a Sequel. Heath Ledger died though. Uh oh
if u all no he died the joker not in the movie idk cuz i didnt see it yet and he died in real life its really sad really he died before his movie is out
I know, ajoysap. But this movie isn't just awesome, it's a freaking masterpiece.
Heath Ledger just stole the show in this movie, nothing against Christian Bale, and surpassed the interpretation of The Joker by Jack Nicholson from 1989's Batman. You're right, Ledger's performance was absolutely stunning.
And if he doesn't get an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor I'll be very surprised.
i dont get it why is there a joker when in the batman films there has already been a joker who died. because it cant be a remake of the origingal could someone explain?
the new batman films by chris nolan (batman begins and dark knight) are a completely new remaking of the batman series and dont take into account the older ones. Which just became camp and, lets face it, shite by the time 'batman and robin' was made which was terrible and gimicky
I have to say I'm extremely excited for this movie. The first one was excellent and just based on the spot on Joker laugh that Ledger puts on, you can tell he will play an excellent villain. Terrible what happened to him. Also love the guy who plays Alfred.
Isn't it weird how similar Brandon Lee's death was to Heath Ledger (events surrounding it, i mean.) They were both filming their best movies yet, they both had white make-up characters, and they both died at 28. Just saying.
dude, if it were up to me, I would personally see to it that Ledger posthumously receives Best Actor. Not just because he died, but because he is in my mind, the best joker I have ever seen. (Even before he died, I thought that.)
The new full trailer of "The Dark Knight" debuted at the New York Comic Con and is expected to hit theaters in about two weeks. However, the viral marketing may allow fans to watch the trailer earlier than that online. The new trailer shows more of the Joker and a lot more of Harvey Dent.
There is a rumor indicating that the running time for "The Dark Knight" is going to be about 180 minutes long. Although the studio desires the film to be 150 minutes long, Nolan is said to have been unable to cut the film any further. This is quite long for a Batman film. This is even longer than "Batman Begins," which is 140 minutes long. I guess 3 hours is bearable as long as it is good.
Several outlets have reported that the long rumored second full trailer for "The Dark Knight" has been pushed back and may not be shown with the premiere of 10,000 B.C.
It has been rumored that the next trailer for "The Dark Knight" will be shown with the premiere of 10,000 B.C. on March 7, 2008. This new trailer will focus more on Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent.
Yeah ever since Ledger's death the studios have turned their advertising focus (which originally focused on The Joker) to focus more on Batman and Harvey Dent. This movie looks great, and from what I've seen, I love what Ledger has done with The Joker. RIP Ledger. I'm so excited for this movie.
This movie is going to have a record breaking opening weekend. Very sad about Heath, but he was a grown man making his own decisions, it was life style he wanted to live and didn't want to break. But this movie is probably going to be the biggest summer blockbuster yet.
all he wanted to do was sleep, and he took one too many, and the wrong combination of tablets, one of the best actors ever has died this year....R.I.P Heath The Legend Ledger....The Legend Lives On In Matilda.....
Poor Heath. His performance looks brilliant in this. It's so sad, but if this is his definitive role then that would be a fitting tribute. RIP Heath, we'll miss you.
Possibly the most disrespectful thing i've ever heard~A radical Baptist church in Kansas intends to protest Heath Ledger's memorial service with signs claiming the actor died and is in Hell because he played a gay character in "Brokeback Mountain."
This piece of shit's name is "SHIRLEY PHELPS-ROPER" of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka.~This pig said that she and other members will picket Ledger's United States memorial services.. Disgusting.
this movie is gonna be amazing....i just wish heath ledger was still here to see how much people love it when it comes out...i just cant believe he is really gone
I was deeply shocked when I heard that Heath Ledger died today. He was a great actor. He was extremely talented and original in playing complex characters. Hopefully, the Joker will now be remembered as one of Ledger's best perfomances. May he rest in peace.
I thought Jack Nicholson did a good job as the Joker, but I never fully understood all the hype towards it...but it looks like heath ledger will be even better, bringing more of a realistic take on the character that was in the last movie
Well, actually over eight decades The Joker has played the psycho just as much if not more than the "Clown" that you refer to. The comics have never really held to a definitive version of him.
a little fight in you, i like that!!!! then your gonna love me!!!!!! hilarious!!!! man i cant wait to see this, joker has to be one of the coolest villans!!!! ever!!!!
I really have faith in Heath Ledger, to me he is the real Joker, I thought Jack Nicolson's potrayal of the Joker was too campy and silly. But this Joker is just SICK and TWISTED. I can't wait...
You're welcome. Screenwriter David Goyer intended to have the Joker scar Harvey Dent in the third film. In the comics, Dent was actually scarred by mob boss Sal Maroni who is listed as a character in The Dark Night. I wonder if Dent becoming Two-Face is the twist in the film. Aaron Eckhart said Dent may show two personalities, but director Christopher Nolan said that's not true. There are a lot of mixed signals, so who knows? Nolan's films are always full of twists.
At first, I didn't see a single image of Harvey Dent/Two-Face (played by Aaron Eckhart), but after further inspection, I noticed that Dent is sitting across the table from Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) at 1:21. You could see this better on the high definition trailer fromt the official site.
So here's something I don't get: Are this movie and Batman Begins supposed to be in the same storyline as the other movies, or are they a completely different storyline?
Batman Begins was a reboot of the Batman film franchise. It retold the origins of Batman and The Dark Knight is a sequel to it. They have nothing to do with the previous films (Burton/Schumacher). After Batman & Robin did terribly, Warner Brothers tried for a long time to make another Batman movie, but nothing happened. They finally hired Christopher Nolan to make Batman Begins. In my opinion, Nolan's films are much better than the earlier ones.
Ledger gave the performance of a lifetime...wheither it was on his own accord or not, he was literally drawn into depression from this role..but some of the best acting Ive ever seen in my life...You never go full ret**d.
