I had a couple of house finches do that on my deck in the middle of january, on a sunny day, I had thought there was something wrong with them, now I am relieved, to know they were only sunbathing,( or attempting to warm themselves)
Amazing! Perhaps there was a time when birds could stretch out and rest and have their bird dreams on the warm ground and they all still have the memories of this peace of that time when they were safe.
You must have the best sunbathing spot in your state Seahue for them to gather like that all together :-) Kinda funny seeing them all do this together.
That is unbelievable show! I never seen them doing it. What was it all about? That is quite interesting. There is some reason for that - unless they really needed vitamin D. :)
