@MrCleanPolo Exactly! I can`t understand, why some people buy themselfes racecars, even when it`s old, and drive it like a VW Polo. Drive it warm and kick it until die valves come out of your exhaust! Life is to short to take it easy!!
wow nice driving skills. watching u steer that thing made me be thankful i got power steering in my 66 lol my friends doesnt and that thing is a bitch to steer hha
Oh hell yea! Thanks for posting for us poor folk, haha
Early GT350's were my favorite car back in high school in the late '70's, Even got my parents to buy me the 1977 book "Shelby's Wildlife" I had drooled over at the bookstore when I was in the hospital for a couple of days, lol Had to settle for the modded 94 Lightning and 95 Cobra I currently have. Seeing the new Boss 302 and Shelby in the dealer showroom the other day was sweet, and painful. ;) Thanks again for posting!
doing this on the street isnt OK. You just endangered that person on the side of the road, your passenger and self and the other ppl around you all for a second of fun. Youll lose this thing if the cops saw you as the laws are painful now about street racing. It aint 1975 anymore! Take to the track.
you mention its not a trailer queen, but quite honestly i hate the concept. cars are a passion for a reason, if your going to spend years restoring them or hell just financing one you might as well take it out every night and run the tread off it.
power steering? lol probably not. sweet car, thanks for driving the car the way it was built to be drivin. i hate when people have those cars just sitting in their garages not doing anything.
That was true for 1965, which had a tach and oil pressure gauge mounted in a dash pod in the center of the dash pad on the street cars. The 66 Mustangs already came with an oil pressure gauge, and Ford's bean counters came in and looked for ways to save time and money. So for 66 it was mounted as shown. Some 66 owners did retrofit their 66 with the 65 style since it did look cool and they probably wanted a mechanical oil gauge.
That thing HAULS ASS!!! Love it. I had a 1965 289 fastback with a California black plate. It was the bomb. And it sounded great, ran great, and was so much fun. Same paint scheme, but white with black stripes. Had a fist-sized Grateful Dead steal your face sticker centered at the bottom of the rear window that I always got compliments for as the perfect finishing touch. That car rocked. Yours rocks even harder. Nothing like that volcano you got under that hood. Keep haulin' ass!
@kenfirch yea please man your driving skills are amazing and that camera perspective tops the feeling :D u should do some more drifts and burnouts :D and a fly-by
Awesome! My buddy Jon had 2 Shelby GT-350s back in the early 1980s. He had a BOSS 302 in a 1965 coupe and later, a 1969 BOSS 429 too. Talk about a LOT of FORD horsepower. I always liked his super clean, low mileage, white/blue 1966 GT-350. Ahhh. What memories as a young man. :) I later owned 2 BOSS 302s, a 429 1971 Sportsroof and a rough 1969 BOSS 429. Wished I'd had that 429 restored, but barring that, a light weight 1965 or 1966 Shelby GT-350 would have been the best!
thats the thing about these fords... these old muscle cars are beautiful, elegant, and have some kick ass power and at the end of the day you know it'll stil run like a dream
thanx , more on the car. its history please.love to hear those stories. the vidio looks like a 60,s peter fonda speed movie. oh and keep your foot in the carb.
When he did the launch, as soon as he slammed it into 2nd it sounded like a volcano erupted and he just took off. That was a really cool spin at the end there by the way
