  • OMG LOOK ITS AN AIR BENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • from the pic i thought he was gonna hit the circle XD my bad

  • beautiful form a true master

  • Someday I hope to be as fluid as this. Thanks for posting.

  • Woahh...Hey, I thought I recognize some of that move...

Oh yeah, This is Hakyokuken in Japanese, right?? *chuckle* I recognize it from a Manga O read once, Tittled KENJI. I think Mangafox or Mangareader have it on their collection. Nice Btw.

  • @k31tw1nd4v Actually, no. In Japanese, it's Hakkeshou(八卦掌), not Hakkyokuken(八極拳). The latter is, in turn, Bajichuan/Bajiquan in Chinese. I don't know about Kenji..but I now the main character Negi from MSN uses that style.

On the topic of martial arts in manga, the Hyuuga Clan's Taijutsu in Naruto is based on Baguazhang..the style shown in this video.

  • looks a lil like tai chi...... but a bit more gracefull.......wow...

  • Its like a dance.. its so beautiful, weve all forgotten this side of martial arts..

  • if you sped it up hed actually be doing the 64 palms. as it is he looks so peaceful, youd never know this was a fighting style.

  • all i need is a minimum in boxing and random fight skills to take anyone out . :P

  • @BrandonAmaro if you honestly expect anyone to believe that youre a faggot

  • Every martial art I have trained in and achieved at least black belt in: BJJ, okinawan goju ryu, Chinese Kenpo, Muy Thai, Boxing, trained at a traditional MMA gym, XMA(For Fun), all hard strong styles...but the way this old man moved...inspired me...

  • @neathdotormality Very true. It's unfortunant that there aren't places where this can be learned in the United States as far as my knowledge go. From training in Tae Kwon Do, this seems completely different compared to the original poomses. It's much less rigid, so free and eloquent.

  • @EvilTurnips I have some moderate training in Hapkido...I'd love to learn this style, myself. So, I know how you feel.

  • unbelieveble , for his years he is like water, such a flowing movement. Superb

  • Superb!

  • where in my country(usa) do you see men his age in that kind of condition?? nowhere?

  • The Bagua techiques are done while in motion. The waist turning and hand techinqes are done in eight directions, stricking, locking sweeping, controlling. Just like an oscillating fan blade on wheels. The use of centifugal and centripetal force

helps to draw the opponent into the practioner as well throw him away.

  • now that was ba gua. dang big ol water dragon.

  • It looks nice, but what does it help you with anyways? It doesn't look like you could defend yourself with that. I would really appreciate if someone could tell.

  • @FreeZe6422 Give bagua a chance before you dismiss it so quickly. The circle walking alone is qigong. This is a healing art as well as the best martial art I have seen. Ever tried to hit someone who is running away from you? You just can't, right? Thats what it would be like to fight a good bagua fighter, you have to hit them while they are moving and they are already comfortable and draw power from the footwork.

  • @bigglue69 I see... Thanks for telling me.

  • That is the true Gentle fist =)

    Amazing !!!

    mysteries of the orient...

  • thats neji in 60 years

  • Even tho it looks like a dance... by the time you step in the ring with that old man. You're already dead!!! Even a idiot like me can tell he's tough.

  • 8 trigrams 64 palms is real,it can kill yuh :3

  • @jordansholaja10 more like internal damage organs but if you go higher then 64 or do it twice you'd be fkd and die lol... GREAT FORM BTW!

  • I would never be able to do this.. This is really something..

  • teach me how to dougie

  • dancing...

  • THIS GUY ON HERE IS GOOD BUT BEWARE OF BGZBADBOY

THIS CLOWN THINKS HE'S THE NEW BRUCE LEE ROY and claims he will take on anyone. He won some kind of Boy Scout Karate Badge so beware.

Everyone on here, go to BGZBadboy site to see what a WONDER PUSSY is, a FAKE who threatens but won't follow up so watch out for his 64 Palms, BA WA HAA HA HA HA. He studied with Rich Wu???? Now be fore warned YALL. Went to his head, huh? Be careful, very careful Ba wa HAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OH, MY SIDES...

  • @theangelrules007 I think it's clear who the pussy really is:) All anyone has to do is simply research your posts and comments for themselves...takes about a minute to see you're a complete and total idiot. I've begged you for your contact info, but you've flat refused to contact me. You claim you're an undefeated Sambo/MMA champion with Tong/Triad affiliations, you've admitted to believing Wong Jack Man killed Bruce Lee with the delayed death-touch, etc. etc. It's all there for anyone to see:)

  • Really a beautiful martial art.

  • With the soft gram just ! It's a high level of Kung Fu, When you think he is too slow, and you try yo attack him, then he will take advantage of your effort yo beat you soon.

  • With the soft gram just ! It's a high level of Kung Fu, When you think he is too slow, and you try yo attack him, then he will take advantage of your effort yo beat you soon.

  • Lol before i saw this vid, i looked at the screenshot and the title while expecting to see the old man doing the 64 palms like neji. ROFL

  • This Sifu is friggin' mesmerizing! I'm in awe at the beauty and grace with which this form is delivered. Incredible!!!

  • this is the Hyuga Clan in Naruto's style "gentle fist"

and is also Avatar the last airbender's Airbending style! this is cool!

  • @ChristopherHa93 There are distinct differences between Baguazhang and Bagua. I am versed in both derivatives and bagua is a little more fluid. "why?" because bagua is more directed to represent rain (a wind and water combo) whilst Baguazhang was created to symbolize harmony among the 9 elements. Some movements in baguazhang are a little more earth based for power, hence the devastation this style can wreak in actual combat.

  • um this looks like ballet dancing

  • First:

You imagine a circle-you circle around your opponent.

    second:

Hit them in some vital points:

    Third:

    You better hope it worked.

It is very hard to master this style-it looks gently, but it is a total killer style.

  • Very fluid for a guy this dude's age. I see a lot of the old kung fu fellas getting really rigid around this point - technique is still there, but everything gets so deliberate.

  • Air-based movements~ nice

  • add a second person and this looks somewhat like a dance

  • Excellent performance Tao!

It is rare to see this!

  • 八卦六十四掌 translates in Romaji as Hakke roku jū yon tanagokoro right?

  • @Jorus271 Romaji it's "Hakke Rokujuuyonshou" of course, that's Japanese..this art is Chinese.

  • old man is beast... im etting trained in this up to 1st dan :D @ patsmearsskp were not all masters of bagua but we have potential to be.......

  • wow the way he moved was so amazing wow

  • I LOL at the start where he does that shiver ROFL! XD

  • very graceful, relaxing

  • Ling Xiaoyu (tekken series) shares this style

  • who pressed fast forward? lol. i definitly think this video is on fast forward from its original

  • we're all masters of ba gua, this comes from within and its in you too. ideally, it comes with the philosophy as well. if you do it right, youll know. hopefully youll learn that this isnt a shiny new toy, you can feel the power and youll know what it is capable of. i would never use this outside of a life or death situation. i would take a beating before striking someone with some of these movements.

  • AIRBENDING

p.s. this old man can dance!

  • This is awesome!!! I wanted to learn it but can't find a master teaching it.

there used to be an old master who practise this, and he is an 84 year old man but no young man can catch him. but too bad he passed away :(

  • How do you learn this technique, I have been looking at many martial arts and I would love to learn this style...

  • Ba-gua Zhang belongs to the inner class of the Chinese Martial Arts, the class which also contains Wing-Chun and Jeet Kune Do.

What I want to say is that it is in fact a very practical technique. The video in fact only explains some principles and some route of Ba-gua Zhang. So comments without understand its essence is not objective.

  • hey @ the people saying its stupid and looks like a dance its different and kinda funny wen they not fighting but i saw my dad's friend fight like 10 guys with this... and they were dead serious... and damn the moves may look stupid here but in real life in looked a lot like neji's from naruto... except fast in a humanely possible way but he was seriously fast... he must have knocked out all ten guys armed with knives in like 20 seconds or something like that...

  • @nos0323 cool story bro, stfu

  • @nos0323 origin is from china

  • @ all the people with the "dance" comments...

YOU try doing that when you're over 60 years old!!! >:o

  • @Rynir1 3/4 of them will not live to be 60 years old

  • @Rynir1 You forgot a 0

  • @Rynir1 Or over 75..

  • @Rynir1 my dad move huge rocks that youngsters cant move ....and hes 71 . His hair isnt even white yet...its black ...

  • ahy cuz have some respect

  • mmm... i prefer neji's 64, it doensn't looks like a dance

  • He wouldn't be doing this in a fight. You *do* know what a form is, don't you? It's to help the body remember the movements so that they become more instinctual during actual combat. You want to see what BaGua would look like during a fight? Look up the video of Tai Chi vs Baguazhang...

  • @alexdhamp

Try looking at Lou dexiu he demonstrates bagua in a fighting application way.

  • @quanjiahao87 Thanks. I've been looking for one that isn't cinematography. Thanks again. :3

  • @alexdhamp yes thats true there is an article somewhere by him saying of course this form is not for fighting but for 'development'. i guess he means balance speed strength etc.

  • @alexdhamp totally agree!!!

  • @alexdhamp Isn't Tai Chi that slow ass shit old people do at the park?

  • @williamwzl lol Why should I even respond if you say something stupid like that. Don't people like you understand the difference between form practices and practical combat applications? Do yourself a favor..use Google and enlighten yourself. And again, look up the Tai Chi vs Baguazhang vid to see how at *least* how the two martial arts would look like when used in combat(even if it's a cheorographed fight scene from a movie).

By the way, that stuff "old people do in the park", that's

  • @williamwzl de-martialized form of Tai Chi..it's more Yoga, than the actual martial art(not saying every practitioner at the park takes the "martial" part out of martial art..just that most there tend to do it for the health benefits, not the study of a martial art style).

Wiki can be you're friend; though, I suggest reading more on the subject via google searches, they're better...provided you read good descriptive articles about it.

  • It does. It's basically the same technique (without the Chakra points^^). You just don't see it much in the Anime as a Training session without enemy.

  • first of all neji's 64 dosen't really exist. And second neji's one is complex technique, that is used in fight, that here is form dedicated to practice the movements.

And it has really good flow and power.

  • 邊到可以學啊?

    有冇太極啊?

  • Lol is he dancing ?

  • jeje severa ilusion optica

  • I wonder if you could incorporate the moonwalk in this....

No, but seriously, its really cool, especially for such an old guy.

  • One thing people often don't notice is that his hands never form a fist. Ba Gua uses open palm fighting. This coupled with the movements of of arms allow him to never leave his arms open to be grabbed and be ready to grab an opponent's arm when the chance presents itself.

  • With other words taichi xD?

  • No..but Tai Chi is an internal martial art style like Baguazhang.

  • Check again, he does use a fist-

twice. But interesting idea you have there...

  • the most beautiful martial art that ive ever seen...

  • this is one of the best fighting style of kungfu. the opponent often don't know what hit him

  • 0:01- 0:03 LOL!!!!!!

  • 0:01 - 0:03 LOL

  • This is the best bagua master on youtube. Idiots beware!

  • cool dance

  • Amazing video! To be old yet that able is amazing! It's no wonder Bagua Zhang was the Beijing standard.

By the way, what's the name of the song used in the video?

  • Never Mind

  • A drunked old man dancing :O

  • nice clip. Good to see the lao still going.

  • Love the starting part where he jiggled before he began dancing around .

  • yeah that was funny

  • I love the part when he jiggled ROFL!

  • video is sped up imo....

  • the hell is?

  • this guy has amazing balance. His moves are fluid and he does it incredibly fast.

  • Oooo so that must make you crouching douche hidden jackass o.o

  • rofl this dude would be an awesome break dancer xD

  • So flawless, it cool to see that the Hyuga clan moves can actually be done.I not sure at the speed rate like they do in the show. But this is excellent

  • there is a thousnd words for this man's movements in this kata, and flawless is number one! i wish he can teach me.

  • this is the ultimate truth about the animal called Human the human may not be as strong as a tiger as fast as a cheetah or as energized as a fox or has a sight of eagle......but he has the 6th sense of understanding the world's true meaning MASTER SUN ZHIJUN's stance changing technique is just a start i bet the secrets of the style are taught only to the chosen few who may or may not have the innate talent to obtain the unnattanble skill !!! i might be a big mouth but seriously guy this is awsm

  • ummm what are you talking about

  • lol

  • the art of the huga clan

  • hyuga*

  • wow its pretty...

  • I always wanted to learn this style. Not because I want to fight or anything, but because it's, well, just cool. I dunno. the way the body's always in a fluid motion. this guy's awesome.

  • Simply incredible, truly the fluidity of a grandmaster can be scene. I am a martial artist myself and studied Bagua a little, but between strength training and growing up have lost a great deal of my flexibility. Master Zhijun is a testament to the level all artists should strive for no matter what age.

  • 1:02 - How did he even turn around that quick? I've been watching it over and over.. and still can't figure it out.

    Absolutely incredible

  • just a stance switch

  • I think it is that he is moving like fluid and just have to step forward and the speed he alredy have accelereted will give him enuf power to make him spinn that fast ^^

(Now this is only a theory... but a damn good one!)

  • Is Sun Zhijun still teaching in Beijing? Last I heard his health wasn't doing too well.

  • beautiful kata, well done.

  • This is beautifully executed.......

The mobility of the player is something all martial artists should strive for at his age

  • this is bagua, one of the most fundamental theories is that you should never stop moving, the whole body should move when you move.

  • fun fact: Airbending from avatar was based off this style of martial arts.

  • Wooow, just imagine him with byakugan lol

    He'd look SO AWESOME!

    So smooth~

  • very good

  • ok......

  • This is what really makes it martial ARTS and not just fighting.

  • Hey it's Hyuuga Neji's 8 Trigram 64 Palm Strikes. Does he need byakugan to perform this?

  • lol yeah he would if Byakugan actually exist in real life. lmao

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much for posting!

  • this is nice

  • is he dancing or what?

  • when not used in fighting its looks like a dance.

  • 8 TRIGRAMS 2 PALMS

    Lol just kiddin nice

  • 敬佩,敬佩!

    前辈的八卦掌真是了不起以及名不虚传啊!

    这就是年老身不老。 敬佩,敬佩!

  • fluide, extraordinaire !

  • wow he is good!

  • kinda reminds me of the way Aang moves on Avatar the Last Airbender.....I think this is what the Air nomads style is based off of

  • Exactly, you're right! The creators indeed base Airbending on Baguazhang...

  • but if i'm honest he's very good at his fighting style

i could never do that so proffessional

  • uhh 64 palms?...

    nvm,total respect!

  • omg he's really fast with his palms...even faster than neji...i didn't even see them

    lol :D

  • I'm just floored and dumbfounded.

  • I kinda laughed at this in the begining.

But then i came to respect this guy. He probablyl spent his entire live learning Martial Arts.

  • I had no idea Ba Gua could be so elegant. It's like he's dancing the wind.

(places palms together and bows) Thank you for sharing this.
