Scooby, since people can also get their chin up to the bar using a pronated grip, those are chin-ups too. We should determine chin based on how high they get the chin (ie it's not a chin up if people only get up halfway, even if they do use a supine grip). I'm glad you do at least call these pull ups though, because they are.
We can make words by describing the grip. Supine-grip pull ups = sup-ups. Prone-grip pull ups = pro-ups. Neutral-grip pull ups = neu-ups. You're welcome :)

When I first started, I was able to keep my body straight as I pull up. However, now I do not seem to be able to do that. My body tends to bend at a 45 degree angle. @heppsanhometraining Completely false. I don't know where you get your information but it's wrong. You use more biceps in a chin up and more forearms/lats in a pullup.
If you overlook what happens between your forearm and upper arm (this is the same in pull ups / chins) and instead look at the motion between your upper arm and your body in a chin up.
You will then see the similarities with pullovers.

Muscle shape is genetically predetermined. Some people will have high bicep peaks like you describe, others will be longer. If your bicep is large, say larger than your tricep, you are doing something wrong..

I had an appendix surgery two years ago, and they sliced my abdomen down the middle, 2.5 inches above belly button, 4 inches below it. keeep your shoulder flexed at the bottom? why is that? il admit i do that and find it easier to hit more reps than completely relaxing at the bottom, but doesnt it like limit the ROM of the exercise?
Just wanted to point out that the reason underhand chinups are easier than wide grip pullups is NOT because they utilise the biceps more (which is such a small muscle anyway) but because it activates more of ur lats. Underhand pulling is in fact superior for developing thickness throughout the lats weather it be vertical or horizontal pulling. This cannot be debated as its simple physiology. However thats not to say that u shouldnt include widegrip overhand movents as they're great for width.
The pull up bar by Iron Gym is the one I have, and it has a weight limit of 300 pounds. My 270 pound friend has ATTEMPTED doing a pull up on it and it didnt seem to bow or anything at all.
@Azorian36 yeah, the Iron gym is worth every penny its super strong and quick to use. =) Make sure you get the "iron gym xtreme" tho if you can when buying an over head pull up bar as the xtreme allows wide grip pull ups aswell as the narrow grip pull ups the plain old iron gym has.

@LostCandy12 Eat well & sleep well on days before working out or you wont have energy to complete much of any workouts. Eating is the fuel to workout and sleeping is the mental fuel to keep going. =)

If you can't do them all the way up, you really shouldn't do them. It will create a sticking point in your muscle. Using a chair would be best for this situation, as scooby suggested. Also, all exercises should be slow and controlled; 2 seconds contracting, 4 seconds relaxing.
yep when i 1st started to bodybuild i couldn't do a pull up, so i started to do chin ups; my lats grew and became mush stronger. Good advice scooby thanks for the upload

@MrSmudger687 I was hoping to have a chance to talk to Scott Herman on the LifeCycle since we are both doing it but the two times I have seen him he was busy. He has a totally different style than I do which is neither good nor bad, just different.
ive found that chin ups/pull ups are just as, if not more beneficial than bicep curls.

Special workouts, "toning the muscle" gain less mass as possible but becoming stronger.
As you gain lean mass, you will gain strength, plus if you work on your form and execution you will be able to lift more and vith absolute control.
You can cut your fat not over a reasonable limit, but why do you request this? Gymnastics? Dance?

I like your vids, but youre not entirely correct.
You actually use biceps more in a pull up then in a chin up.
The reason why the chin up is easier is that you involving the chest when you put your elbows forward.
Both are great exercises for the lats!

Scooby, over the passed couple days I had a dip in my caloric intake. I was at 155 and I lost 6 pounds. Fat loss or possible muscle loss. I don't think they would have eaten themselves so fast

hi scoob! hey im 17 almost 18 and i followed your diet basics, naturally since i stopped eating a lot of fattening food i lost weight. i was at 75 kilos and now my weight dropped to 68kg,(im 184cm tall) but well the point is that i look wayy too thin, however there is still some fat in the area of the abs(still cant see them),should i keep dropping weight until they show or should i just do more ab workout and stop getting lighter?

Hey, I have a question for you Scoob. Do you know if I will be able to get six pack abs? My situation is this - I have lost 30 pounds of fat already, and i'm at about 16 percent body fat now, and I know I have to be at about 7%, so here is the question. I had an appendix surgery two years ago, and they sliced my abdomen down the middle, 2.5 inches above belly button, 4 inches below it. Since it is cut, there is scar tissue, and it makes a bigger belly. Will I be able to get a six pack? thanks!

keeep your shoulder flexed at the bottom? why is that? il admit i do that and find it easier to hit more reps than completely relaxing at the bottom, but doesnt it like limit the ROM of the exercise?

Just wanted to point out that the reason underhand chinups are easier than wide grip pullups is NOT because they utilise the biceps more (which is such a small muscle anyway) but because it activates more of ur lats. Underhand pulling is in fact superior for developing thickness throughout the lats weather it be vertical or horizontal pulling. This cannot be debated as its simple physiology. However thats not to say that u shouldnt include widegrip overhand movents as they're great for width.

The pull up bar by Iron Gym is the one I have, and it has a weight limit of 300 pounds. My 270 pound friend has ATTEMPTED doing a pull up on it and it didnt seem to bow or anything at all.

@Azorian36 yeah, the Iron gym is worth every penny its super strong and quick to use. =) Make sure you get the "iron gym xtreme" tho if you can when buying an over head pull up bar as the xtreme allows wide grip pull ups aswell as the narrow grip pull ups the plain old iron gym has.

@LostCandy12 Eat well & sleep well on days before working out or you wont have energy to complete much of any workouts. Eating is the fuel to workout and sleeping is the mental fuel to keep going. =)

unfortunely no there are none.
Height is not related to muscle, but to your bone structure, wich grows, form factors different than exercise, but from your genetics and bone health.

If you can't do them all the way up, you really shouldn't do them. It will create a sticking point in your muscle. Using a chair would be best for this situation, as scooby suggested. Also, all exercises should be slow and controlled; 2 seconds contracting, 4 seconds relaxing.

yep when i 1st started to bodybuild i couldn't do a pull up, so i started to do chin ups; my lats grew and became mush stronger. Good advice scooby thanks for the upload
