This one might have been better if the opening scene (the shootout and the soul transformation scene would have been postponed until later in the movie. Maybe in a PoV story telling by the detective who shot him. Explaining away the back story and the detail up front steals the mystery and the "unknown- WTF IZZAT?!?" factor- which is the imaginative fuel for any horror movie. When it's all explained it turns a horror franchise in a series of jokes. And bad ones at that.

"Child's Play" is a classic -_- "Friday The 13th" kinda sucks, and it's a pretty repetitive movie, just as "Halloween" and "Nightmare On Elm Street". "Child's Play" isn't scary but it's entertaining, and the doll model and voice actor makes it even more cool.

This movie used to scare the shit out of me! When I was like 2 my dad left the room with this on and it scarred me for the rest of my childhood.
