if you plan on mixing dextrin with something else later you'll be mixing the dextrin, the new compound AND the black powder.

@matataka Instead of black powder you can use finely crushed match head powder with a few drops of water. You just have to dip it in then wait for it to dry.

-I do, but they are expensive and I can only get them where I live in packs of rocket engine. Why would I pay 5 dollars for a rocket engine if I only want the match that comes with it? This is cheap, efficient and easy to make. BP (the ingredients you need can be found at hardware and gardening stores) and is easy to make from scratch, and dextrin should be available at health food stores.

Corn starch. But you have to make it at about 450 for about 3 hours stirring every 20 minutes. I preferably like to make as much as the ingredients as i can from scratch, but for convenience sakes, I would just suggest buying the dextrin.

well, no but i just find them to be the best since they are sturdy and very malleable and very thin, and they are FREE from any grocery store i just go there and grab a bunch then leave.

there should be a video on youtube that teaches you how to make it, but if you can't find it basically you just get corn starch and cook it in the oven for like 40 min. or so depending on how much you are making till it is golden brown, but that isn't real dextrin it is actually maltdextrin but it works just fine
