Paris, good design down to the smallest detail, it is obvious when visiting this city the effort and pride that has gone into creating such a place, america could learn a lot from France if her eyes and minds were open. The importance of beauty has not sunk in very deeply in the U.S. There are small regions that get it but are few and far between. The ugly built environment is a direct reflection of the ugly minds building it. Of course this statement is designed to get a reaction, fire away.

What's the point in being proud of being born anywhere? It's not like they made a choice or something.

I'm very happy to be French, and I love my country, and I'm sometimes proud or not of what my country or fellow frenchmen do, but I don't see why being born there is anything to be proud about.

Nice capture of peaceful moments in the city where I work. Of course, like any huge city, Paris has bad sides too (pollution, overpopulation, cost of life...) But there is a special ambiance here (well retransripted in "ratatouille" =) )
