@GalwayChick I'd call it some form of gothic rock. According to wikipedia, the album that this is from "is a gothic hybrid of industrial, dance, Celtic, Symphonic and Middle Eastern musics". This is, I think, their last album before they started their steampunk stuff.

It's alright... doesn't suit the song as well as one could envision. It's dark, but there's not a lot of the seedy people I see as 'running on the darker side of life.'

I always see this song as having a video made from scenes with Johnny from Mike Leigh's "Naked"

It just seems to suit him, 'I'm the one that you fear when you hold your wife.'
