@Clintonman I'm sure your Panasonic Handycam is great for what you do. What i liked about this camera was the ability to go into full manual. Your consumer cameras don't give you that luxury. The price was neccessary to have that level of control over my projects.
@Kminatz You just need to actually read up on the subject. All DV and HDV cams seem to record bad low light until you learn the basics of shooting in low light. One of the easier tricks is to set the exposure on auto and then point the cam at a darker area (often dow toward your feet) and then lock the iris. When you point it at your subject it will be much brighter now. You might have to do it 2 or 3 times till you get the exposure just right. It's all just common sense really.
Not very impressed with the nature shot quality on the nature shot. Did you use a filter or something? but awesome quality on the short film shot. And for everyone who does'nt read the video highlight "This is soom test footage I shot as well as a clip from my short film retribution." READ..
lol people are weird, how you go from nice sunset in a grassy, meadowy type place, to a guy with a sheet over his head struggling to get out? da fuuuuucckkk? very good quality though, ty for upload
True my friend, however the HMC-150 only works with the AVCHD Codec software on Final cut 6.1.6. If you have an older version, your going to have massive problems. HDV codec is easy to use and tapes work well. Plus cheap!
Should I buy this Camera now? Almost 5 years later?

Step 1: Pause in betwwen of 0:18-0:20
Step 2: Make the video quality to 720p (HD)
Step 3: Make it into fullscreen
Step 4: Press the Print Screen button
And that is my current desktop background :D

I think the sad part is, I get better video with my TM700 which isn't even on the same price level as this beast. What a waste.

The pillow case dude was just going crazy! Very good quality, though. Is there a particular program you prefer for ransom notes?

beautiful footage. how do you transfer it to make keep the HD footage so clear?

I'm going with Panasonic. The HMC-150 is tapeless and it shoots in 24p/30p/60p/60i/720p ...and you don't have to mess with tapes...

Actually this is with the stock lens , no adapters, all I did was adjust the settings to be more film-esque.
It gave me the results I was looking for.
