  • These old machines can last longer than todays MADE IN CHINA machines.

  • This is when Whirlpool was TOP OF THE LINE!!!! So sad to see there quality go out the window. These were made when companys cared about the goods they made. Not today make it as cheep as you can and if its no good OH WELL

  • There should be an entire cable TV channel dedicated to washing machines washing clothes. Couldn't be worse than MTV.

  • Wow the inside looks like today's washer.

  • this 1 is also very similiar to my childhood washer I love it!!! and I used to love cleaning lint out of that trap

  • One of the BEST washers ever made!

  • Nothing as soothing as the whine of a belt drive Whirlpool. Ah, memories...

  • One of the best agitators in my opinion was the old belted Whirlpool Surgilators and Double Duty Surgilators!

  • @whirlpool1978 I'm still using my 25 year old Whirlpool with the same agitator as this one.

  • @whirlpool1978 I agree, Those did a superb job and were well made.

  • BEAUTIFUL WASHER DREW! Reminds me of the one I grew up with. BD Whirlpool/Kenmores are the best.

  • drew do you have any vidoes of this machine doing a spin and drain my mothers was a 1972 model i loved it

  • My parents had a Whirlpool washer '82 with the SuperSurgilator and it would have rollover no matter how much we packed into it.

  • My Mom had a 1967 Imperial Mark XII. All the bells and whistles. I think it was the best washer she ever had. Although, her 1990 Direct Drive model lasted 13 years without one single problem. It was left in the house when they sold it. How long it lasted is anyone's guess.

  • yes sears kenmore was made By whirlpool which was sold in sears brand name Kenmore..

  • I think that the Surgilator agitators were better than the Kenmore RotoSwirl agitators. There is less backward movement of the load on the reverse stroke. The Surgilator also pulls items down faster than the straight vane GE in your other video.

  • We had a 1975 unit that looked & sounded just like this one. I can remember hearing the grinding in the transmission. I believe Whirlpool was also the only brand that made a washing machine that didn't go into immediate spin as soon as it started draining. I remember they'd sit for a minute and than you'd hear a gear engage. Ours broke in 1989 and we replaced it with a Maytage that lasted until 2005 when my parents simply wanted a larger capacity. WE got the Neptune which has been good thus far.

  • I would love to have one just like this one.

  • You know this model looks just like the one in the Brady Bunch episode that Bobby overflowed with soap. The only difference is the color. Great washer they just don't make them like this anymore.

  • This woo woo sound reminds me of my 1981 Kenmore. I still got it to this day.

  • Whilpool made machines for Sears(Kenmore)

  • can you do a video of it draining and spinning this was my mothers exact model

  • Aw the lovely woo-woo sounds of the BD's.
