I was just a 3 year old Army brat whose Mom took him to an intersection on Post to watch his Dad lead his company from one place to another. To see soldiers march by in perfect step and hear cadences sung like this... gives me goosebumps. Almost singlehandedly the reason I'm choosing to join the Army.

Wow lot of crap talking people here. I can't speak for other branches but in the army when I was in it was "hooah" pronounced about a thousand different ways by every sgt I had. Hoah hu uhh auh uuu oah hoowa and other general grunts and growls but mainly hooah. I didn't see any marines taking any city in Iraq as I was at the front with the 3rd infantry who took all the main cities including bagdad, but we did have some nice marine water guys come in later. i have been the descendent of a marine for my whole life. I have seen the things that go on within their bases cause i have been living on them for 5 years straight. They arent like the army or the navy or any other military branch who are told where to go by their generals and highest ranking officials. They are told where to go by the president himself, that there is an honor. Plus the marine is the only person called what he is. a mraine is a marine, navy is seamen, airforce is airmen etc

Gave me chills. My husband serves in the AF, and I've gained a lot more respect for those who serve after experiencing BMT through his letters and phone calls. @XeroJaeger Very true. It wasn't the Army making the landings in the Pacific in WWII...it was the USMC. Now I'm not making light of the enormous effort (and victory) of the Army troops who parachuted into and made the beach landings at Normandy, but at that time amphib landings were what the Marines did, and they did it very, very well. Also, German defenses along the Normandy coast were formidable, to put it lightly.

Gave me chills. My husband serves in the AF, and I've gained a lot more respect for those who serve after experiencing BMT through his letters and phone calls. Not many people can understand the fear of possibly watching the person you love more than anything leave for war. It doesn't matter what branch you are...I have respect for them all. They are all necessary.

@pungy616 as a former marine infantryman i would definitly disagree that marines are merely a naval infantry force. now the marine corps does specialize in amphibious landings. however recent history shows the full scope of the marine corps. i dont believe when the marines took falujah iraq they landed on any beachead. that was pure urban combat. which you being a former special forces soldier know that the casualty rate in urban combat is very high.no disrespect to you. ty for your service.

@Pungy616 You are, very simply, wrong. Army/Marines are NOT the same. But one is not better than the other. Your arguement is self-defeating. Read your USMC SOPs. Marine ops are designed to survive for a certain duration with maximum capability. Army are occupational, long term troops. Our nation, our mission, doesn't survive without either. Neither is the topic of this video. Great voice, great rhythm on that SFC. Oorah, boys.

@XeroJaeger Very true. It wasn't the Army making the landings in the Pacific in WWII...it was the USMC. Now I'm not making light of the enormous effort (and victory) of the Army troops who parachuted into and made the beach landings at Normandy, but at that time amphib landings were what the Marines did, and they did it very, very well. Also, German defenses along the Normandy coast were formidable, to put it lightly.

@peteyjones1000 Have you heard of MARSOC (Marine Special Ops Command). look it up, and as for rangers and green berets, we have Force Recon. just an FYI, dont think that Marines dont have special forces, and to learn about all the training, go and watch surviving the cut, it has a show about each of the schools

Wow, I really struck a nerve, I see -- well, just to satisfy your limited IQs, I am a career SNCO (Air Force, 31 years and counting). I have worked with all branches of the military, and, as an American I have the right to my opinion, just like you pinheads do. My youngest daughter was in JROTC, I even helped them out a few times (their leadership SUCKED), was the first female to make Armed Drill. I have also worked with other JROTC, ROTC, and CAP.
