It's unfortunate that people have to die.. but it's fortunate that we go through instances like these to prepare us for the inevitability of someone invading our countries.
Interesting thing to ponder though is the ability to kill when you have soldiers that have been thoroughly indoctrinated and trained to become "elite" soldiers.
Thinking of all the scary troops like SS or the French Foreign Legion, do you think that they were more willing to shoot, unlike the conscripts of WW1 and WW2?
Also, what of ancient warriors or Roman soldiers? Were they more willing or able to kill someone up close? Or a horseman charging and trampling people underfoot?
so after thousands of years we've learnt how to turn men into robots that still end up insane with PTSD after all the killing? well if that's progress???
there's a crucial flaw to this documentary which fails to point the fact that the main culprits for the physical as well as psychological devastation of people directly involved in the "business of killing" (both the soldiers and the civilians) are the ones that are sending the soldiers to wage war in our names. wars which are really fought for imperial prestige, dominance and profits. e.g. the so-called war on terrorism which is in fact the war on poor people, their land and their resources.
@luckyluke069 i mena selective memory not all of it. let say taht jaunary 1 you go to war. 2 monts later you gome back. you have nightmares and stuff. so they arase the last 2 months from your memory. all you know is that it was 1 january this mornign but now its is 1 march somehow.
@marko9900 for example Duncan O'Finioan - he has certain missions that he cannot remember (but is starting to remember). Like when he landed on a helicopter in Vietnam, he climbes off the chopper, memory goes blank and the nect thing he remember is when he is climbing back inside. Check out the interview - watch?v=CWfpORZOpjk
Still we can't be 100% sure that what he sais is genuine, but... shit happens.
@MrKillien well, we have a problem of overpopulation. althoug it is a bad soultion to it, it still is a solution, that to some degree killing must stay.
@marko9900 This is not the solution to controling the growing population. I am sorry but you sound so heartless. I lived war 4 10 yrs. Not a single day went by without seeing death and I have never lost my humanity to take another life.... I wonder if your words will ring in your ears when it hits home!
