And DOWN is a very SABBATH sounding METAL/HardRock band.

Most of these bands we're talknig about are better summed up as SOUTHERN METAL. And not just because they are from the south

Goatwhore is from the south, but I'd consider them OLD-school Black metal...in the vein of CELTIC FROST or VENOM

I was at a Sabbatic Feast show in Lafayette and Sammy used to do guest vocals on one of their songs so before the show I asked Sammy to sign the Sabbatic Feast shirt I was wearing but he wouldn't, he said it wasn't his band. He agreed to sign my white undershirt though, he seemed like an alright guy to me.
