Chlorine is easily removed from water. It is preferentialy evapourated from water and does not form the close hydrogen bonds that allow non water soluable metals like aluminium and lead to bond to the molicule. Chlorine will remove itself from water over a short period of time (that is why you have to keep adding chlorine to swimming pools)
