the fastest way to get comfortable with a 2 handed backhand is to do a few hits with your non dominant hand.. personally i'm ambidextrous. i write with my lefty but i used my write hand for tennis, but i use to use a 1 handed backhand. 1 day i was experimenting with the 2 hander and now i'm great with it. i would recommend the 2 hander simply cause it is much faster to learn.
maybe its just me, but i think it should not matter if she is a lefty or a righty, the technique is just the same, just with the opposite hands, it isn't that hard of a concept to understand.
TIPS!!! this video doesnt show how to give power to a ball..... for u who want powerful backhands, put all you weight on your right foot and hit the ball with little spin which ables u to hit the ball with all your power preventing the ball to get out
Woohoo! Had my first paid-tennis lesson today. But thanks for these, these videos helped me a ton before! Just, the left handed girl is a bit confusing sometimes...
one comment on grip. for a two handed backhand, i don't think you're supposed to use a one handed backhand grip for your bottom hand. most other resources tell you to use a continental grip and a lefty eastern or semi-western forehand for the top hand.
Maybe you should give 1HBH a shot. Its hard at first. I switched from 2H to 1H and my backhand is so much better now. I felt very restricted by my 2HBH. Didn't feel natural.
to bend yur wrist before impact is completely fine, but try to use that bent wrist to get power, and try not to keep your wrist bent like that throughout the whole follow through.
@AngelStudPro yeah but majority of players are right handed, the people that made these videos should cater for the biggest audience if you know what i mean
@ryancouture If you can't adapt the "lesson" to your right handed play, then something's really missing to you... And even if you can't, try to think of all the lefties who won't have to adapt the lesson for a change!
@imstuttering thats cuz its natural for him. one-handed backhand is what im more used to. but i have to practice two-handed cuz i cant get enough topspin on onehanded.
@ the top comments just because you guys play righty doesn't mean everybody else
