This dudes a tinder foot that's what i call guys i skate with when their board wobbles like that...when your scared your legs get kinda weak. it only happens to me after a lay off...but once i get my nerve the hill is over quick...i barely have time to think about falling or being afraid. i just want to get stoked! that's why its called bombing...once it leaves the plane there's no turning back!

@avenged7foldforlife6 oh yes they DO. They are more stable than shorter boards, but they definately wobble. Resisting speed wobbles is a mental skill that is developed with experience, you have to be loose and relaxed, and keep your weight forward. They say stability is 90% rider 10% board. These guys can go fast because they do it alot.

@mikeerz21 long boards are made for very high speeds. And well trick boards, just practice maintaining speed. It took me a couple of months(1-3) to get used to high speeds on my trick board. But you're probably progress faster seeing as you try it already.

pretty good man but I think your trucks are a tad too loose....I mean loose trucks save lives but when they are a bit tighter the board is still gonna drift and stuff if you shift your weight right.....

@rollinbarrin from what Ive learned keep your weight on your front foot, about 80% keep the front truck tight and the back truck a little looser not much more. For slides use a harder wheel like an 80a or up to an 83a. Best to do your own research.

So i've been skating my local carpark, it's a great lil downhill park and im getting a few nice long sides but always end up coming ot a stop. At 58seconds he sides backside then brings the board back under, any hints as to where to put weight etc.... to make it do this?

Wonderful hill! To make a shoe last longer you either need gokart or motorcycle tires, since they can be cut with normal gardening scissors. Just cut out the sole and glue it on with contact glue. I did this with a motorcycle tire and it lasted a whole season!

The problem with car tyres is they can get quite hot once your reaching speeds of 90ks and above. You can buy specially made patches for the souls of your shoes now that last just as long as tyre but dont heat up and burn your foot. Loaded have a range of them. Gnarly!!

well, if your just starting i recomend getting some leathers and bombing a super fast hill. just to get the fear of the sport out of the way. i would personally recomend a drop deck and get in between a 42 to 46 in. board. anything shorter than 42 tends to overdrift corners.

the main thing is to focus with your balance and hang on for as long as you can. make sure that your trucks arent loose, and that the hill doesn't have lots of gravel. if you dont have a longboard, its easier to use a wider deck for your skateboard. dont get scared while youre going down, or youre gonna lose your focus, and might slip, which is NOT fun. if you do slip, then remember to curl up into a ball and roll, to reduce injury after you fall.
