Dean did not hold his line. He didn't have any energy left and made a desperate move to come into Renshaw's line (see his post-stage interview on Versus). This made Renshaw defend his path and angered him enough to block off Farrar at 150 m to go. The French disqualified Renshaw for a still-motion photograph for head-butting, not the professional block later on, so everyone's just wrong! Big disadvantage to Cavendish for future sprint stages. I foresee Farrar or Petacchi all over the Paris.

@cyclingprodigy The head butt is no big deal - only from a media perspective, which may have lead the commissars to DQ him. The real offense is definitely the choice to put Farrar into the wall. Poor sportsmanship, plain and simple. If you race, you'll know that people get rough in sprints, but cutting somebody off deliberately is incredibly risky for the whole pack behind you. You just don't do it. That's not a "professional" thing to do - not at all.

@jjmnky your a moron. you have no idea what youre talking about. get some eyes that work then watch the footage again. renshaw had the right to defend himself after the initial rider tried to lock his elbow over renshaws.

@jjmnky No there was unfair tactics from both teams more so Garmin and cavendish disndt do anything apart from a fair sprint to win the stage he is easily the best sprinter in the world
