  • Hey Thanks for posten. I haven't heard of this guy before. Dig IT!!!

  • Look at how young Jerry Jeff and REK were. Wow! We're all old, ...especially if you knew all the words.

  • this must bee a long time ago because my dad did not play with him in this video

  • Have seen REK many times and two weeks ago finally got to see him do this live as well as other old favorites; Copenhagen, Wolf & Bear. As usual, he was great.

  • what year was this? late 80s? very early 90s?

  • I am a fan of REK but rarely hear this song so this is a great video for me. It is amazing outside of Texas how many people have never heard of REK until you mention Merry Xmas. Best unknown country singer around!!

  • why don't they have programs like this on tv anymore......what happened to all those cool shows on TNN......love Robert Earl!!!!!

  • Saw REK when he was a new kid on the block with Guy Clark and Townes at Fitzgerald's, wow...thanks for posting this

  • greatest unknown country star around!!!

  • What an awesome performance and an awesome song. REK is brilliant.

  • I was at A&M the same time as REK and Lyle Lovett. They used to play by Rudder Fountain. Knew then they'd make it big. This was in the mid late 70's/early 80's.

  • @bholbert24 I saw REK at a few "pickin' porch" parties, but Lyle was always playing gis out of town on weekends. Sure do miss the Cow Hop, Dudley's Draw and Ken Martin's Steak house for chicken-fried steaks. They're hard to find outside of Texas.

  • Is that a young Bryan Duckworth on the fiddle?

  • I believe so yes.

  • Sure is!

  • What year was this? REK looks so young!

  • nice

  • Great performer!

Love his voice - he sounds a bit like Dylan.

    thank you, for the video.

  • This sounds a lot like Dylan's "Shelter from the Storm." Both great songs.

  • REK is the best. I've seen him live several times, and he never once played this tune. Look how young he is!

  • my sentiments exactly.

  • the sheriff, jesse saved his life one day back before the war.

  • the sheriff, jesse saved his life back before the war and he repaid him.

  • The Sheriff

  • Who kills Banker Brown? Jesse or Sheriff Paul?

  • Sheriff Paul. Love is all that matters in the end..get it?
