  • I would be pissed off if I was behind the speakers...

  • Whats up with that pshycodelic RAGE that shows up in a lot of old music videos?

  • Whats up with that pshycodelic RAGE that shows up in a lot of old music videos?

  • Does anyone know where i cud get 1 of those vintage mic tht pink floyd uses(clearly seen on echoes, live in pompeii video)..searched on ebay,google,amazon..nowhere to be found. Would be rely helpful if anyone cud giv me any info regarding those kindof vintage mics..

  • I well remember GTK, you're so right, there was nothing else

  • @holicat098 This question has been covered several times, by me also: in the original blurb, and in a follow-up comment, after numerous other cool dudes like yourself kept whinging needlessly. Notice also that the title is live "footage" = visual. The blending of the two was done by the ABC in the 1970s. In future, before you decide to mouth off, consider whether what you are about to say makes you sound wiser, or just foolish. Fake indeed. Wake up, man. Up ya bum, lazy reader.

  • Nice vid. Thanks for posting. I have a lot of good memories from 1971, and Floyd is amazing as ever.

  • Roger is so fucking FINE!!!!!

  • Pathetic crowd. If I were out there, I would be going crazy!

  • Pathetic crowd. If I were out there, I would be going crazy!

  • This looked like one bad ass concert. Yeah, the audience does seem so calm. It was the 70's. Before people started going ape shit over nothing at concerts.

  • The audio track for this song is from the Ummagumma version of the song. The sound track is not originally for this footage.

  • @Griskabora Thanks, genius. You're only the millionth person to point that out, including me, numerous times.

  • Can anyone identify what kind of mic they were using? Ive seen several vids where they are using these...

  • Roger Waters is possessed by the banshee

  • @MyJaar LOL! ok..boy i understand...you're in love with Roger Waters...but what a shame -for you- he's not gay!!

sorry that i made you upset! :P

  • This footage is absolutely amazing!

  • LOL, nice vid, But why add Ummaguma msic with it.

  • @ltcurry LOL-king: You'd have to ask the ABC producers of the show in the early 1970s. I suspect the answer is: with film, it's easier and cheaper to just shoot the visual, and forget the live sound, and dub in some later. Obviously the live recording on Ummagumma seemed to furnish them with a good fit.

So yeah, I didn't do it, LOL.

  • Take care my friend, Plant is exhaling as Gilmor is inhaling! You could do that.Let's not forget Daltry!

As far as 60's & 70's We are stuck with RAP and drum machines. That sucks.

Thank God most of the guy's from Floyd are stii alive! Those of us who have a reasonable I.Q. have History to fall back on!

dommosay1@comcast.net P.S. note: Gilmor is playing chord's on that bass!!!!

  • That bass playing muther is working chord's!

    Guitar player's PAY ATTENTION!!!

  • That bass playing muther is working chord's!

    Guitat player's PAY ATTENTION!!!

  • That bass playing muther ^&*$%ER is working chord's!

    Guitat player's PAY ATTENTION!!!

  • Anyone have the show

  • Does anyone know were to get this

  • Anyone know were to get this

  • wow

  • i doubt even robert plant could do that scream lol 60's and 70's blows this fucked up generation out of the water

  • I would kill so many people to see this concert.

  • @CosmosOfBeauty Would that help?

  • wheres the rest of it

  • they looked Nirvana for a second or two lol

  • 70'S at their best! Thumbs up for this!

  • @lovethemick thumbs up for what?

  • Waters had the best shrills. For someone who "couldn't sing" his vocal stylings are in many ways unmatched.

  • Though he does it in The Wall, I do miss that screech from Waters. I has an amazing affect on the whole vibe.

  • Wish I was one of the two guys up in the rafters

  • roger is awesome, love that scream

  • Great show!

Where have gone the music genius? Most of current music is plastic, even if there are some good moods... Hip-hop and Rap singers are story tellers, but their music lacks much of mistery and imagination...

  • I have a man-crush on Rick & Dave right now!...damn, this would have been a good concert...those people in the back have got some great seats...NOT...I love the ancient gear...that's all they had back then!...someone told me long ago that that scream was a "russian burp" meaning drawing in air inwards...not sure if true...

  • greatest band ever. love them more than my life <3

  • 1:10 RIP richard

  • this is just legendary. how are they not they not on the top of everyone's list like me?

  • I wonder what everyone was looking at at 1.37

  • muito bom... psicodelia pura;

  • @MrMeddled

he was a bump in those days :p

  • My scream sounds exacly like Rogers. ;o

  • Steven Hyde from That 70's Show at 0:52

  • Rogers good at screaming lol

  • To Broken Chair 88. Dogs (words and music by David Gilmour and Roger Waters)No Rick Wright Or Nick Mason mentioned in credits . Thus Pink Floyd only performed Dogs

  • @MrJacMac1986 Who gives a shit what he says, we all know he's an internet sensation now....

  • and 5 ran!

  • Wish the Floyd could have been at the BYRON GA POP FESTIVAL ON JULY 3-5, 1970

  • STUPENDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!XDXDXDXD!!

  • Roger Waters could come up with the greatest vocal shrills...

  • All that screaming probably made Rogers voice hoarse by the time of Radio KAOS.Thats why he got Roy Harper to sing "Have A Cigar"."Shine On" put a strain on his voice.Probably why Dave sings alot in the 70's.Rick sings good too but like Roger doesnt have that high range.Nick only sang on one song that hasnt offically been released "the Pink Floyd Christmas Song" . But he did voice on "One Of These Days"

  • Nice find .. I've never seen this one b4 :)

  • Did i see quentin tarantino at 1:23 ??

  • @hirvi93 how could you note that for cry say?

  • @hirvi93

At the far right with the cigarette?

  • my favorite version is at the Superstar's Concert on 5-19-73 I think is the correct date.. they are so sexy it hurts so bad knowing I won't ever get to see them like that :(

  • They gave us such a rich legacy of music, but it's such a pity that very little of it was captured on video. Wonder if there's any more film of this quality from the show floating around. Some of the best I've seen. Thank you for sharing!

  • Actually he's a quite mediocre musician. Gilmour was and is the best musician. Waters was and is the genius writer.

  • Roger Water is the gretest musician ever

  • "3gypt1an Why was music so fucking rock in 1971 and then so fuckin cheese by 1985? "

It seems to me that back then rock instruments were relatively new, and so people experimented with them and found a whole range of sound and melodies. Once the pioneering bands (Beatles, RS, YES, Genesis, ELP, Led Zep, etc) got established there was not much more experimentation the bands that came later could do. Everything have been said and done by the late 70's.

  • OMG...such a flashback I'm having...so awesome...I remember this when it came out on ummagumma...black lights, too much dope and scared shitless...wacth out for that axe, Eugene

  • wooooooooo thanks for the flash back!! great version of eugene, when could we expecte a tour ,it s been tooooooooooooo freaking long!

Roger is coming to Montreal and the kicker is ,,,he s doing THE WALL, in october

  • greatest rock scream ever!!! 0:35

the greatest rock scream ever isnt wont get fooled again its this song

  • The sound is good cause its from the original and not this concert - great to see though. Heard them perform this live in Edinburgh - shows my age ;o)

  • notice that this was before head banging.

  • how are all those people just standing there doing nothing??? not even moving to the music or anything o_0

  • lol, notice the girl just behind waters at 0'50 secs into the song, shes trying to stop her eardrums exploding from Waters almighty scream, lol

  • damn thats an awesome venue to have a concert at. especially the great pink floyd!

  • Classic Floyd, just the four of them.

  • This is good. But, Pompeii is just the best version, in my opinion. Richard's organ parts are amazing.

  • when he does that scream, it's like he's got his nuts clamped in a vise grip. unreal.

  • Pink Floyd loves you!

  • they are so calm because this music is listening music, almost angel music...

  • Looks like a really cool happening! Anyone who can create a time machine to put me back to these days?? I think I belong there.

  • Amazing thanks for posting.

  • I don't think people are bored. You don't have to be crazy when you listen to your favorites.Pink floyd had that kind of music on which you would like to be attentive, captivated, hipnotized. If you loose a moment of their wonderful music,by acting crazy, because they sing,it's bad...

  • So apparently long hair was popular back then...

  • Shit. Randwick Racecourse. I never knew Pink Floyd played there. I used to live across the road in Cowper st....

  • how crazy it is to see the people so calm ,listening like in a church ,so great to see the floyds pratically 40years ago.i saw them 20years ago it was so different and so calm to!

  • this is awesome! THANK YOU for putting it up.

  • great sound quality for such an old video

  • well... "Note that the sound is not from the same concert, being in fact from the live part of "Ummagumma".

  • this is fukin awesome video. NEVER TAKE IT DOWN!!!

  • So kickass!

  • Royal Randwick !

  • looks like its cold outdoors

  • Dude, everyone is just bored....

My jaw would be to the floor

  • There's something so unsettling about this song, in a good way.

  • i like how everyone is looking quiet and still. they are really paying attention. trying to enjoy the show. couldn't have it this way to day. everyonw would act retarded as hell. thats why roger did the wall.

  • The only people that have heard of Pink Floyd at my school is my Science and English teacher and me..... kinda sad.

  • they look so cool

  • Awesome vid....I'm guessing this is a pretty rare clip cos i've seen most of the floyd clips on you tube but this one was new to me. Thanks for posting it.

  • 1:28 - is that Quentin Tarantino chewing gum? ahha

  • @kisdy Hahahah! I was just thinking to myself that dude looks exactly like him! Hilarious.

  • what is roger doing at 1:50

  • taking a joint.

  • Cool

  • They synched up the audio and video of Roger's screams pretty damn well. Or was Roger's screaming on this song that predictable?

  • damn.. great quality vid

  • classic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the Ummagumma Version of the song on the Live cd. Its not the actual version that goes along with this footage. in my opinion, this is the BEST and rawest version of it, absolutly explosive, absolutly genius! LIVE ON PINK FLOYD

  • That's right, well observed -- as i mentioned in the blurb beside the clip.

  • Very good version, but I prefer the pompeii one

  • thanks for the footage... real rare stuff

  • dude this shits like a sausagefest of hippies smoking pot all listening to these genioses. live on pink.

  • I would have loved to be there.

  • All of us would. All of us.

  • Amazing rare footage, thanks for sharing this:))

  • mason is so sick, i mean the rest of the band is unmistakably genious.

  • The best part is at 0:51 when a girl in the audience covers her ears in discomforting pain as Waters screeches and grimaces at ear-splitting decibels.

  • people are just standing.. I will be rockin insanely

  • You're the entire reason Roger wanted to do 'The Wall'...

  • lol amen brotha

  • That scream...man, that's some great screaming =)

  • surreal, man

  • Why was music so fucking rock in 1971 and then so fuckin cheese by 1985?

  • 80s rock is by far the worst.

  • You can't say that....there were good rock bands in the 80's also. There just werent that many. Dire Straits was a great band for example...

  • Dire Straits is a 70's band

  • too true!

  • @3gypt1an

Because MTV changed music into what

you look like, not what you had to say.

  • @3gypt1an , because in 71 there was still a lot of soul in people.

  • @3gypt1an $ and cocaine...

  • @3gypt1an Because of talentless faggot rock bands, like U2, sting, the list goes on...

  • @3gypt1an drum machines, the DX7, digital technology, sampling, computers...............music shouldn't be made by machines and in another 40 years people themselves will have become 'enhanced' with genetic engineering and nano technology. By then there won't be any music at all.

  • awesome

  • Amazing piece of footage. Wonder if there's any more ... it was better than raiding the BBC's archives!

  • I don't think people knew quite what to make of Floyd back then or maybe they were all stoned? Randwick racecourse LOL

  • Heh, yeah, Randwick! :D

  • @23flowergirl , i thought the same thing, they seems to be outside or in an other way....very strange....

  • wot a pity ozzies had the need to be so restrained then, to look at this now and to imagine how mind changing it would have been to see live, bit of history and so moving, bummer we did not move more eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they seemed to like it, much better to listen than to be boistoruos in my opinion

  • For some reason, I love Roger Water's jacket.

    Great performance...

  • The audience look like they're waiting for a bus

  • I don't think people knew what quite to make of Floyd back then...or maybe they were all stoned..LOL

  • I think people had to "play cool" back then (?). Suckas, didn't seem to know what they had. ;)

  • Yes, I'm sure they said that.

"Dear Crowd, Don't move a muscle, look disinterested, and please never ever cheer for us. Love, Pink Floyd."

  • That's some heavy shit

  • mm i think this is the version off Ummagumma, the video doesnt sync, and im pretty sure its the same audio

  • mmm, I think I said exactly that in the blurb!

"Note that the sound is not from the same concert, being in fact from the live part of "Ummagumma"."

  • lol i have the name of that song as my profile name on myspace :D i love the floyd they Rule Rock And Roll

  • the best band of all time.

  • this is soooo beautiful!!!

  • tight!

  • Dave now looks like the guy from Time Team with the West Country accent does now, and vice versa: he looked like Dave Gilmour did when he was young.

  • David Gilmour = God.

  • Whats wrong with the crowd? Dont they know, they are at a Pink Floyd Concert...

  • This stuff is fantastic,a great song nice live pink floyd Forever 10/10

  • Hahahahaha I know I noticed him as well

    handsome guy:):)

  • HAHAHAHA ... that cracked me right up lol

    XD

  • Wow, it's amazing for far ahead of its time this song was

  • Que bueno, de la mejor musica de locos para los chochos, un valor incalculable.

  • This is actually rare and exceptional footage.

  • yeah the country's first tour and there all thinking humm was men at work was to be the opening act?

  • the screaming is so bad ass

  • at 1:22 the guy with the cigar at the right is funny as hell . he was probably saying : hmmrf hmmmrf

  • lmao

  • I've had a copy of this for yrs, but this is sooo much better quality. I don't know how it was done, or by whom, but a fabulous post. Cheers! Thanks alot.

  • Long live to Roger Waters

  • Haha - look at all the incredibly confused looking Australian faces! 1971 was their first tour i believe...

  • this is just awesome. I am so glad i stumbled upon this. Probably my favorite Floyd era

  • I love one chord songs.

And a bass player who can get off on playing just one note wins big points in my book. Serves the song well.

  • the crowd is so dead. oh well, i wish i could've been there though. i love this song.

  • this scream is ....................so so amazing

i hear this song again and again 3-4 hours a day

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • for that years the scream was considered a mad thing

    (sorry for bad english)

  • WOW AMAIZING
