I like Ron Paul, but he is not going to get the nomination. Romney is a much better choice for President. He has managed a state economy, Provided healhcare without raising taxes and left a surplus of wealth. None of the Dems or Republican candidates can say that and Mormons believe the Constitution is an inspired document from God....

See, there you go again LRP - Ron Paul hasn't been advocating that the US dollar, the greenback, be converted to a gold standard.

You are right, pegging the Dollar to a set weight of gold by law is a bad idea.

Ron Paul has been advocating allowing any gold-based private currency to operate along side the US Dollar.

Then the free market will take over, and people will move toward gold or not, on their own.

The world already operates with dozens of different currencies: The Peso, the Yen, the Euro, and then there are all the private currencies already in use: greenstamps, gift cards, e-gold, liberty dollars, Linden dollars, flooze, etc. and the only one who seems to be confused is you. ;)

The really crazy idea was giving the power of inflation to the politicians in the first place. Who couldn't foresee a problem with that?

Obama gave a good speech. I got goosebumps. Loaded with emotions of hope, but COMPLETELY HOLLOW and WITHOUT SUBSTANCE. The problem with Obama is he has democrat ideas.
