I've done oxycontin about 5 times and if you have will-power you won't get addicted. This guy makes it sound like a really bad drug when, in moderate usage, can be very enjoyable. I haven't taken any oxycontin in about a month and experienced no withdrawals. If you know what you're getting in to, it decreases the chance you'll get addicted to it.
@princessofhesse ... I was pointing out the fact that understand what it's like to be addicted, dependent, and what it's like to have a parent who's an addict. I have a relatively well understanding of substance addiction and neurochemistry.
I accept your beliefes, however, I stand by MY beliefes. Drug prohibition MUST end!
@pricessofhesse Believe me, I have alot of compassion for people, not to mention, animals -- probably more so for animals, though. If I didn't have compassion, I would have foolishly "ripped you a new one" via text. Like I said, in my opinion, ANYONE who opposes the abolishment of drug prohibition is ignorant.
If the fact that I grew up with an opioid addict, and I'm subsequently an addict myself does not matter, than why does the fact that you're an addict or your losses matter? ...
of course you can have your opinion, you live in the greatest country on earth for that....but, to call someone else ignorant, i'm afraid, shows the level of your compassion and understanding of the human condition. i will not respond to your posts anymore and request that you do not write me again. think what you will, you do have that right, but i feel no need to explain myself to you.
i am not ignorant, i am a university educated freelance writer, mother of three beautiful children, student of European history, Catholic Christian, wife of 26 yrs. i do not appreciate being attacked on a internet site because i expressed my own opinions. apologizing for insulting people after you have done it is just a waste of time. just don't do it.
@princessofhesse I didn't "attack" you, I merely expressed my opinion towards your comment which appeared to be sarcastic and ignorant, and I'm not convinced that it wasn't.
I have my freedom of speech just as much as you do!
The fact is, addictive psychoactive substances will always be available, legal or not. Therefore, individuals must learn to how to control themselves. I know, it's easier said than done, but keeping drugs illegal is unnecessary, unjust and as I said, ignorant. ...
@princessofhesse ... And, if it makes any difference, my father has been an opioid addict for the majority of his life, and I myself have been intermittently abusing opioids for over two years. I know what it's like to grow up with a parent who's an addict, and I know what it's like to be addicted and dependent.
@CNSagent no, no difference, just like my feelings that drugs should not be legalized makes no difference to you. But, I take little offense, I remember being 19 with all of the answers for myself and everyone else. It comes with the age. We all live and learn.
@princessofhesse Was that a sarcastic response? If so, with all due respect, you are ignorant. Drug prohibition creates far more problems than it solves. Until it is abolished, ALL illicit substance addicts will be prediposed and subjected to utterly inhumane treatment. Even a drug-filled, demoralized society would be better than a completely subconsciously controlled and oppressed society were the "War on Drugs" is directed at the citizens of the U.S., not to mention the most of the Earth. ...
@CNSagent no,it was not sarcastic, i just know it would not solve any problems. i know what it's like to be addicted, it's living in hell while still living alive...barely.....i've lost friends to alcohol and drugs many times over the yrs, a sad waste of lives, talent and the abilities of others to contribute to the lives of those who love them. but, no, i do not waste my time with sarcastic remarks.
@princessofhesse ... Of course, it wouldn't solve the issue of substance abuse and addiction, as I have already stated, however, it WOULD solve a multitude of problems (e.g the alledged, immense waste of tax dollars, violence, murder and other criminal acts perpetrated as a result of the illicit sale of drugs, corruption among law enforcement and goverment officials, et cettera).
Your education is of no concern to me. Anyone who opposes the legalization & regulation of drugs is ignorant.
@CNSagent normal = non abusive. non violent, non threatening, Respects the things and feelings of others. Anything other than that, and you have a mental disorder. Have fun.

@fuckcomments What is "normal"?
The reality that we percieve isn't even real! Systematic mind control begins the moment we set our eyes on a television program!

@fuckcomments Your perception of "normal" is reasonable, yet impratical. It's sounds more like sedated and controlled.
It's a generalized cop-out, anyway. More so than my previous reply.
"Normal" is merely what you, myself and every one else percieves it to be.
Peace!

Don't judge ANY addict too harshly unless YOU have experienced severe withdrawal.
Put him in jail? Yeah, we gotta stay responsible for our actions but don't judge an addict unless you've been there...
