Absolutely! The video is taken whilst the laparoscopic part of the operation is being performed (keyhole) but once the bowel is 'mobilised' and the main blood vessel divided then it can be removed through a smaller incision than conventional 'open' surgery. The open part is not routinely recorded in the operating theatre.
