This soundtrack is so sweepingly powerful and epic, you often hear this theme fill in for movies (like gladiator) until a permenent score is complete. It is one of my all time favorites, alongside other masterpeices like Holst: Mars/bringer of war. Both blend majesty and grace. RIP Basil!!!

They just performed Anvil of Crom and The Orgy from Conan soundtrack. Also tracks from other Basil's movie were performed.

I don't think we will hear Basil's music anytime soon.

You know what would be awesome? To perform live the entire soundtrack in the temple of Zeus in Athens... When i saw Vangelis concert there (unfortunately only on video) i was also pissed that i missed it. Shame that this work of art never got the fame it deserves... I personally regard it not the best soundtrack, but the best piece of music ever written.

If you seacrh youtube there is short clips of Basil conducting Conan music in Spain in a concert befiore his death, although I dont know if it was commercially released. Now that would have been incredible to be present at ...

Yes, that was the concert in Ubeda, in 2006. It was released only as limited edition of 1200 DVD`s. If you ever find it on the internet somewhere, send me a link, i would be very grateful.

@kallileo They actually re-recorded the COMPLETE Conan the Barbarian orchestral score with every missing track using more instruments and all on a 2 disc set you can order or find online. It's slightly different sounding, but has all missing music and is incredible.
