Lady From The Mountains goes way back to the "Uncirculated Rumors" Vinyl "bootleg" album (three full discs). So My guess is that this recording is indeed from 1977"ish". Much info says "Lady" is a 1986 Rock A LIttle Outtake. I just can't imagine that this song is from 1986, her vocal quality is so very "young" on this recording, it most certainly must be earlier. I've never heard this particular version before I discovered this post just today, and I've been collecting for 30 years.
A REAL treasure!!! I purchased "In Your Dreams" the day it came out and I LOVE the new version of this song (Moonlight) so much that I was compelled to go look for and find the older demo versions. THANKS so much for posting this. It's positively awesome to hear the evolution of both the song and Stevie's own interpretation and presentation. Really special ... especially to those of us who have loved her and have followed her career for more than 30 years ... THANKS!
intresting... this is the beginning stages of " moonlight ( a vampires dream ) " from stevies new album " in your dreams " ... never realized that b4 ...
This is gonna be on her new album yay!! This one of my faves!! Its a dream come true!!! IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEIR WOULD BE HER AND THE PIANO WITH JUST HER OLDER STRONGER EVEN SWEETER VOICE WITH THE SONG!! When this song comes out im gonna say:I loved this song waaaaay before it came out!
@Silversprings90 I totally agree. I would love to hear her now just playing the piano and singing... There is an interview floating around on youtube somewhere in which she plays Planets of the Universe on the Piano... during the Trouble In Shangri La times.
@singingtomysoul ~~ Thanks!! That does help and must be right cause you have the same one :) All mine said was take 7,thats it,no date at all. Speeking of dates have a 1derful 1/11/11 :)
@Wench098 ~ Your Welcome. I hope I wasn't out of line. I could hear these songs popping out and I just had to comment. I'm such a doofus and I should shut up and not to write comments but I got excited when I worked the era out. Sorry.
@scarlettdreams ~You arent out of line! I love when someone posts an insightful comment. Please comment away. I have alot of demos posted that I am unsure of era and would love if you told me what you know about the songs ~~,again~thanks :)
The begining of this song reminds me of FM's song Sara. Then it sounds like it goes into the tempo of Stevie Nicks, Sleeping Angel but she's singing, the lady from the mountain lyric's. Good Question Joan and maybe somebody knows the answer. I would say, this song sounds, pre bella donna era. I'm guessing it would have been recorded (demo) in nineteen seventy. Thank you for sharing. :)
Absolutely wonderful audio and video photos. thank you so much!
