"In Exodus we have an account of the manner in which Jehovah delivered the Jews from Egyptian bondage. We now know that the Jews were never enslaved by the Egyptians; that the entire story is a fiction. We know this because there is not found in Hebrew a word of Egyptian origin and there is not found in the language of the Egyptians a word of Hebrew origin. So we know that the Hebrews and Egyptians could not have lived together." - Robert Ingersoll
your half correct. like every language the biblical hebrew changed with time over these past 2000 years... but modern hebrew actually descends directly from biblical hebrew, surviving in places like babylon during most of the empires
I don't think the movie has been translated to ancient Egyptian.... they don't have that much of an audience. (That's very telling, they're gone, we're still here!).
However it would be interesting if an Egyptologyst does translate it, just for the heck of it.
Ohad Shahar (as the fat Hartum) and Yehoyachin Fridlander (as the thin Hartum) in "you're playing with the big boys" in hebrew, from "prince of Egypt".

Moses(through out most of this video): Is this going to be over soon? I have lots more interesting things to do, like watch grass grow.

This hebrew is actually a reconstructed language. The language that would be spoken by the Israelites is dead now.

egyptians speak arabic
444Riku 4 years ago
Yes, they do, but they didn't always. Egyptians spoke their own language for a very long time before adopting arabic.

after the arabian occupation of Egypt, arabs in egypt speak arabic not egyptian.

Well, there is a christian church in Egypt that uses a bastardized version of ancient Egyptian in their sermons. Coptic or something.

But if they say arabic, the people can't all understand what they said.
