  • always the most beautiful skating dresses

  • @chapstickgurl1 i used to get my dresses made from the same lady, i remember seeing this dress at her house before the 07-08 season.

  • I feel bad for her twin sister Amber..... she must be jealous.

  • I am so lucky to have witnessed this beautiful performance. Has she lost weight since then?

  • @macerface You are indeed lucky--I think Alissa's sp at 2009 Nats is the zenith of ladies figure skating. She's gone on a vegetarian diet, which may mean she's not getting all her amino acids and could be losing some muscle mass, but I'm not an expert.

  • @gallantrycross comparing how she looked here to now she has lost soooo much weight. i love alissa but she almost looks unhealthy now.

  • This may be my favorite of alissa's performances! :D

  • Czisny Sizzles.

  • This is the greatest skate in history.

  • She reminds me of Sasha Cohen. She has her lines, her spiral, she even kinda looks like her if u think about it. NO ONE can touch her spins. they r beautiful! But I have 2 say that her leg is a little wrapped while checking out of her jumps....

  • I love that costume! It's so prettty!

  • Does anybody knows the name of the song?? Pleaseee

  • @mensa35 The Swan by Saint-Saens. (part of Carnival of the animals)

  • @speakingtruly Thank you!!

  • @mensa35 You're welcome. :-)

  • No one can touch Johnny Weir's program to the Swan. It will never be done better.

  • @ltbrooks From the male skaters. :-) For me the '94 ex of Baiul will always be the best Swan skated by any female.

  • Adorable.

  • I sure hope she does not make the World team this year. I have absolutely zero confidence in her ability to hold it together when it really counts, and I would hate to see her waste one of the two US spots. Especially since I hold her partially responsible for the US only having 2 spots. She was useless the last time she went.

  • @TinyAva93 Well too late for that isn't it hunny... she won and made it to Worlds! Love her!

  • @EyeMAbrain Still have no faith in her. Too many years of f@#!#@@#$ up when the heat is on. Lets face it, US Nationals was hardly a competitive field. I have no reason to believe that she won't crumble when it comes time to face Yu Na, Mao, and other true competitors.

  • I would love to get with that. Fuckin yeah!

  • I've never really watched figure skating, so maybe someone could tell me why they always give like a little gift to the skater as they leave the ice. I've seen it a couple of different times, I was wondering if there is something special to it.

  • spiker ne boş boş konuşuyorrr !! _

    sussunda izliyelim..

  • by far the most innately musical and fluid skater to come out of the states... her spins are astoundingly beautiful.

  • okay.. im in LOVE with that dress!

  • She's definitely better than that fat lump Rachael Flatts

  • Alissa and Sasha are the best female skaters....... a shame their jumps plagued them so much.

  • @chuhboemember6 agree, i wonder if its due to ballet. theare both extremely flexible and artistic. thats the plus they get from it, no one can have a body line or expression as they do. rachael and wagner seemed more thick and can pull the jumps but they lack artistry, flatt more so. i hope she does well, her career has been up and down but she always looks great shapewise, costumes, music choices, choreography, lets hope this is her year, shes so talented

  • she's a clockwise-er?

    so pretty :)

  • she gained some weight, didn't she? she looks better now

  • If Alissa can skate like this in both short and long, she might be able to beat Mao in a head to head competition.

  • If only she could have repeated this program in the 2010 Nationals. She would have been unbeatable.

  • waw i like her layback spin

  • who is this swan lake by anyone know stunning performance

  • @spiralqueenforgold18 Not Swan Lake, but Le Cygne by Camille Saint-Saens from Le Carnaval des Animaux. :)

  • My new idol!

  • besides her amazing skating skills, her presentation is amazing, always ready with really detailed dresses, this one is classic, so pretty and goes with the music :)

  • so much grace..and ive nvr seen someone FEEL the music...like she was moving to it just the way it sounds.....not like it was just background...you know..sometimes it just seems like theyre just going through the motions till the jumps and im not watching it just for that....wow...she was just floating

  • shes so graceful and look sso peaceful when she skates

  • OMG WOW!!! I LOVE ALISSA!!

Yes she will definitely make a comeback, I believe in her. ;-)

  • @Uniquestylez01 me too, she did so well at the national practices, she knows her potential she must work on overcoming nerves and beleive in herself just as much as we beleive in her, her skating is flawless, everyone knows shes the best, and im sure she will work hard to gain another title and international medals:)

  • She fired her coach! I hope she gets someone that can help her hold it together and strengthen her competitive drive. If she gets that, she would be unbeatable!!!!

  • So does that mean she will keep on going with skating and continue her competitive career! I sooo hope so! I wanna see her win nationals again and become competitive enough to win the Worlds! She is such a beautiful skater!!! LOVE HER!

  • It's not called "firing" your coach in skating, she just parted ways. It doesn't mean Alissa was mean about it, her coach probably understood and they'll probably still be friends. And by the way, I also hope she finds a coach that helps her to hold it together and strengthen her competitive drive :D

  • @LukeSkating yes indeed, i hope she gets a male coach, someone tougher who can bring out the competitiveness in her:)

  • go clockwise skaters!

  • Wow........um...wow! I really am a loss for words. Wow! I wish I could skate as beautifully as her! I'm jealous. :P Her spins, scratch that, everything in this program was so beautiful and flawless! Oh man, that was so amazing! Did she make it onto the Olympic team?

  • no she didn't :'( I was rooting for her but she fell on her first jump and missed her combo. I think she got the jutters after seeing Rachel Flatt, whom I hate btw..

  • @EyeMAbrain flatt is booooring, stiff, and overmarked, all the ballerina skaters deserve to be on top

  • agreed! :)

  • Refreshing =) Love her elegance, her jumps, her spins are absoutly amazing her extention she is able to obtain is just breathtaking =) she skated beautiful to this program and it was pretty much flawless!!! True heart of a professional skater and sure is going places!!

  • Comment removed

  • It almost doesn't matter if she makes a mistake; her movements are so smooth and flawless.

  • So amazing! WOW!

  • how did she do on this??

  • She came in 1st in the SP and went onto win her first National championship.

  • I enjoy watching 'women' skaters so much more than teen or child skaters - even though it's great that youngsters can do all the difficulty, I prefer the grace and maturity in the older skaters, not to mention the lines

  • does anyone know if kimmie was competing this year, because in my country we don't often see the skate competitions, so i was wondering if anyone knows, thanks:D, btw i think alissa was great, i love her performance and her jumps were so clean

  • no has a hip and knee injury

  • really :S but she's coming back right?, thanks

  • No, Kimmie withrew due to injury that year, same as the first of her events of this year. I don't think that with the deep field of US figure skating this year we'll be seeing much of her.

  • She will missed this season because of a bad knee injury but she will return to competitive skating next year.

  • her double axel at the end was great

  • If Alissa skated like this every time she performed it will be difficult to beat her.

  • she had no footwork at all going into her flip.

  • i wish at 2:48 that they would've focused on her entire body and not just her head

  • This is the best skater to date! Forget the Kwans and the Cohens! Ha! :)

  • I really hope she'll keep it together this year. I'd be aweful to see another meltdown from her.

  • her biellman spin looks so pretty!!! <3

  • She is amazing! This is the best short program ever in the history of U.S. ladies figure skating so far, her jumps were fully rotated, spins were well centered and fast, spirals are amazing, the crossovers nice and clean as well as the deep edges wow everything went well here oh and the music was brilliant! I really hope she makes it to the 2010 Olympics with Sasha, they are both ballerinas on ice, and both are equally strong wether they are inconsistent or not, they can surprise ua all.

  • Say what you want about Alissa's jumping consistency in international competitions, this was the best U.S. National short program I have ever seen! I will always remember her when I hear this music. Magical!

  • yes indeed every element was performed beautifly shes just brilliant i wish her the best for this coming season :D

  • she skated brilliantly to this :)

  • shes amazing i just saw her abt an hour ago at skate detroit and got her autograph shes soooooo good!!

  • She could give Lucinda Ruh a run for her money :)

  • No one, and I mean NO ONE can spin like Alissa Czisny. No one can touch her. It's just magnificent. I really hope it's her and Sasha at the Olympics. The other younger competitors still have their chances, but this seems to be it for the two veterans. I wish them the best of luck. Sasha & Alissa for the 2010 Olympic Team!!!

  • i def agree with you, there owuld be nothing better than sending both alissa and sasha to the olympics, both are just exquisite and have the imense talent to represent the us, hopefully both have a great season and consistent jumps (which is what the new system is about)...theres nothing better than ballerinas on ice and those two are one good pair the us has :D

  • @sgjake21 I absolutely looooove Alissa. But I strongly disagree. Her spins are absolutely fabulous, but Lucinda Ruh is in a league of her own for spins.

  • @Tromkick No doubt about Lucinda Ruh... I was talking more in terms of today's skaters. :)

  • my friend has competed with her before

  • Like the announcer said, she feels the program. Her jumps could be more consistent, but her grace is unbeatable. This was great!

  • I love her speed and grace and elegance in this program! Her choreography is beautiful! Her spins are the best!!!!!!

  • my mom knows her grandpa

  • That was beautiful. So elegent and such class.

  • GhostKidd3607 she is still the best. Whether you like it or NOT.

  • i wonder what you feel like after spinning around like that.

  • i feel a little dizzy but not rlly, i guess we're just used to it. id do a spin in my program and just go to the nxt thing in my program without even thinking about it

  • She was really great on her long program, too bad she didnt do so good on her short.

  • It's the opposite, this is her short program and she amazingly. Her long program was not awful, but not amazing.

She has great speed in this program. Sometimes she skates slow, but she was flying accross the ice despite the soft music.

  • Oh I know this is the short but didnt she scored better on her long program and scored low on the short thats why she didnt make it to the top? I only saw her long program at the world, thought it was great.

  • IT WAS GLAMOROUS

  • hey this is my music the only big jump i have in it is an axel

  • beautiful girl!

  • But I'm glad Alissa has a medal.

Now she can get a job in Capades.

  • I'm heartbroken for Caroline and Mirai

  • Just love this program - exquisite! Even with the falls during World's, it was still spellbinding. I'm heartbroken for her.

  • Her long program at Worlds was lovely!

  • How fitting, the Swan! as in Swan Song.

  • I love Alissa because she's such a sweet girl, but I think she thinks too much about her performance when she does it. It's almost like she foretells of her own destruction. She's not the type to lead a ladies' team, especially the US team. She did better when she won Bronze a couple of years ago. But to put her as the top US ladies' skater despite her major errors, that's just unfair for the other ladies who are more consistent.

  • If she lands that triple Lutz and adds one triple, triple combination I think she can win Worlds! She has all the potential, and in the rear event that she two triple triple combination's at worlds I don't think anyone would beat her. But for what it's worth I hope she does well. Good luck Alissa.

  • One of my favorites! Lovely to watch

  • she is my favorite skater!!

  • this is just beautiful. really beautiful.

  • Exelente!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MAGNIFICO!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a groundbreaking comeback! Still graceful as always and illuminating many with smiles. Consistency has improved tremendously! Hopefully Alissa will continue to improve in areas in her landings where falls will just be a memory of her younger years.

  • Such a sweet sensation on ice!!

  • this program was beautiful...

COME ON!!! Alissa be more consistent and get urself a triple-triple for the short program, and u r set... u have every single other element, better than all the other skaters out there...

  • Like in a wondeful dream!

  • her double axels are awesome!

  • she is a swan on the ice... beautiful

  • michelle kwan is better!

  • Smooth as silk.

  • she is such a pretty skater=)

i would kill to have spins as good as hers

  • THanks for the video ! I thought this was the best I've seen her skate. Simply beautiful and so nice to see. Her spins are superb. Her moves are complete and that is the beauty of watching a mature skater. Ballet on ice.

  • all the negative comments just show how close minded some skating fans are,the jumps still count but the artistry and presence do so too, alissa won the sp with a good lead over the girls, she didnt do so great with the long but her skating elements and artistry helped her win the title. zhang and flatt still lack experience and they may have the jumps but still miss out on other elements, especially speed.. sadly mirai and wagner didnt medal, i was hopin they would go wo worlds with czisny.

  • And for some reason we have all these great skaters, and NOT ONE can even land it on the podium. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong soon, -_-

  • Lovely spins and presentation, jumps so so...

  • Alissa is such a beautiful skater, lovely lines and incredible extension, and her spins and footwork sequences have never been the problem. Her jump technique has (supposedly) been corrected. She must have been very nervous during the lp at nationals because she only landed three clean jumps. I hope her national title will give her the confidence she lacks. About Michelle and/or Sasha coming back---both are so talented and capable, and experienced. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

  • finally.

  • It was a beautiful artistic skate. However, if this is the best the U.S.A. has, then why not bring back Michelle and Sasha.?

This program only had 3 to 4 triples. no 3,3 combinations. The foot steps werent that fast or difficult. Michelle and Sasha, could do at least 6 triples and probably a 3,3 combination, and both are very artistic too. Espcially Michelle, her jumps were perfect, and she was consitent on them...

    Seriouly, think about it.

  • cerdanM

1st of all.. dis prgram does not even have 3 -triples.. only 2 and 1 double axel. why?

coz it is the SHORT PROGRAM.

sasha's jumps on SP would be the same! 3-2 combo. 3ple. and a double axel.. same with kwan.

plus.. this is not the best in USA... their bests (Flatt, Zhang, Nagasu) are a little inconsistent due to their added heght (harder to spring and get rotate)

Kwan is old (oldies have hard time jumping) and sasha is a little not-so competitive) and i have not seen them do 3-3 combo

  • Hey, don't make fun of old people. But, yes, i know this is the short. The long only had 4 triples, one was in combination. That is not much if she hopes to do much at worlds. But, don't count out the ladies in their high 20's; that is not old. Fumi, from japan is 28 and she is doing ok...But, i still think if kwan was skating she would beat her. Besides looking great artistically in this skate, there wasn't much difficulty.

thanks for you comment. i don't think she is U.S.A.'s best either.

  • I mentioned that fumi suguri is 28 yrs old. She got 2nd at Japan nationals. She got first in the LP. She beat, Nakano, Ando, akiko, and beat Mao in the Long.

I just saw a Kwan video from 2001. She did 7 triples, two in combination with a double and a 2A.

If Alissa did a clean program it would have been 5 triples at most with the combinations.

Why not bring Kwan back. She can beat this without doing any 3,3s in her skate, with the artistic quality too..

  • Part 1

you are somehow right.. but both Sasha (maybe not much on her because I can see her doing exhibitions) and Kwan are not-so competitive.. they have not competed for years.. compared to fumie who has been continuously competing... and maybe its a little bit of luck that she got that.. I am a big Mao fan and I already know about it before you told me about that (Fumie)... Mao underrotates her two - 3axels and the 3loop on the 3-3 combo...

  • Part 2 not so good skate by ando and nakano.. that's why.. maybe if she is consistent she would make it (problem's is she's not => fumie)

anyway.. I still think Cohen and especially kwan would make it...

  • I mean..

I still think Cohen and especially Kwan would NOT make it...

  • yeah, maybe..i don't think cohen can. Maybe kwan..yeah, Mao had a bad night at nationals. Fumi, did beat Alissa twice this year.

most of the girls(all) are having a hard time doing 3,3's correctly...Yuna, is probably the most consistent. I think the judges may be telling the girls that clean skates are better then trying the more difficult jumps. But it takes the excitement out of it for me...and the risk. Maybe that is why i am not happy Alissa won, too simple of a program.. no risk.

  • i know at least kwan had done triple triples... in the 96 worlds (not sure), 99 nationals, 00 worlds, and 01 worlds from what i know...

  • sasha and michelle can't compete anymore. i know sasha was in stars on ice. you get paid for those shows. they've turned pro and they wouldn't be able to compete internationally. you have to be an amature.

and plus, i think alissa is better than the other, younger ones. she has maturity needed to be a senior lady. the other ones aren't mature and don't have a presence or maturity to them.

i give my best to alissa. she deserves to dominate.

  • they've retained their amateur status to remain olympic eligible.

  • Even if you are considered pro, next season they could turn amateur again.

However, both are still considered amateur.

I agree about Alissa though, she's the last remaining member of the 6.0 generation syle skaters.

  • sasha was pretty much the same as alissa. they would both do beautiful sp and get high scores, but then have disasterous lp. about sasha and michelle coming out of retirement, i think if they were really serious about skating, they would have skated this year, not just come back in the olympic year. thats kind of unfair to the girls who have been skating this entire quad. but regardless i dont think we're going to qualify 3 spots for the olympics:(

  • thanks for the comment. At first i wasn't really serious about MK and Sasha coming back to skate. My intention was to compare them to Allisa's skates. Even though Allissa skates beautifully artistically, she lacks the difficult elements in her programs. I was thinking if Alissa can win nationals with her program then why not bring back MK and Sasha. Technically the programs Mk and Sasha were doing were more difficult(in terms of the jumps), except for probably the spins...thanks again.

  • no prob. well i dont really know about michelle. she got okay scores but the technical panels would give her level 2 for some of her spins. now sasha could still do really well under the judging system. she had the highest score until kim yu-na beat it in 2007. she didn't have the hardest jumps but her spins and spirals got all level 3s and 4s.

  • plus the GOE really helped her. she would have to work on consistency for her lp though. she doesn't have to do the hardest jumps but she has to do them clean. i think then she could be in the ranks with carolina, mao and kim

  • I think she played it safe on the jumps to get her confidence back. The jumps she did were technically correct and she doesn't get downgraded on them. Others try more and get downgraded. The rest of her elements are all of a very high level.

  • you are probably right..thanks for the comment.

  • i love her!

  • Its nice!i love the song!nice technique and dynamics!

  • She's good, no doubt there, I know everyone loves her but eh.. She doens't sell me.

  • i love her music...i skated to this in my first competition...alissa is so incredible♥

  • absolutely stunning

  • michelle kwan is better!!

  • Why do you ask such stupid questions?

  • michelle kwan is better!!!

  • wow very very good! Can't wait to see here when she qualifies! :)

  • She reminds me so much of Shizuka Arakawa, with strong edging, spins, jumps, and beautiful lines...but with consistency problems. I'd love to see her perform perfect SP and FS, as she did several times a few years back.

  • She made cry!

  • yaya you ar so kind post the long progrmaes:)

  • Wonderful! Thank you for posting this.

    I'm so happy for Alissa.

  • Could you download her long program also please?

  • omg, is she a right side dominant? (clockwise spinner/jumper)

that was a great program though...
