Back in the 70's and 80's I learned that Rev. Fr. Marcelline Jayakody penned this as the National Anthem but it was denied because it was sung as a Hymn in some Catholic Church. Correct me if I'm wrong and also, please note this is not to provoke anything by any means. Thank you
