@alithelin1234 a salafi is a deviant sect who say everything is bidah, they say madhabs are haraam, and they pick up bukhari and blindly follow the hadiths without knowledge of what the hadiths mean and the context they are meant to be read in. they blindly follow al albani and the other saudi sheikhs, so stear clear of these deviants

@alithelin1234 i use the hanafi school, but am not extreme, people think the hanafi school was just abu hanifa, but he had about 30-50 scholars [from the kufa iraq area whose knowledge was handed down by abdullah ibn mas'ud r.a] that helped to derive the rulings from the quran and authentic sunnah, so the opinions in the hanafi school are backed by many of the 'ulama of just a bit after the death of the prophet s.a.w

@FUS10N1 knowledge is wajib on every muslim, the ummah needs alim's and scholars, Allah swt knows best the condition in somali, but their is lots of Muslims that are struggling and suffering but inshAllah the more educated Muslims we can have in our deen that can help the Ummah in the long run, the scholars are the inheritors of the prophet's peace be upon them and one can only have a true understanding of islam and have imaan and taqwa once they have learned and gained some sort of knowledge

Subhana'Allah! I am in the exact situation brother! Just make du'a to Allah (swt) to make this easy for you. Remember you must obey your parents, what's the point if you go to learn the knowledge of Islam if your parents are displeased with you? Just make dua and speak to them nicely, show them this video, explain to them and most importantly show how Islam is having a good effect on you by your example. Make dua, obey them and tell them about how you feel.

Speaking English isn't needed at the university, but you do need to High-School diploma or its equivalent, like a GED.

@chechenmoslem go get your GED, i had a friend who got it. it prob. took a month or two and i believe it's free, at least where i lived. if you can't get the GED then believe me you won't make it at the university. so, if you are serious don't wait.
