It's a very pretty campus. I worked at Suzzallo for over 7 years, and the reading room is VERY comfortable (people living on the street would come there during the day to take a nap) the administration at Suzzallo was staggeringly abusive to staff and students. Librarians would steal entire collections of books (GK) (FK) and date student employees they hired. One administer (LG) would yell at Librarians and you could hear it down the halls. An insane, insane place for over a decade.
Man! I really want to go to UW! I just love the gothic structures and the atmosphere in Washington, despite the fitful weather. I love Seattle and I can't imagine being anywhere else. But I don't know whether I should apply here or someplace out of state (I'm considering U of Tampa in Florida). I'm trying to get a degree in Marine Biology and I was wondering if UW is the right place for me? (:
@250neovenator Thank you for your suggestion! I'll be visiting there with family next month! I have a new HD camcorder to use. Hopefully we can video record more parts of the campus! What a leg workout that'll be!
Me and my gf might be moving there in 2012. Does anyone know how good the campus is? I don't know much about the state of washington except the weather is better than western new york
ahh cool! thanks for posting this. it's always refreshing to stop from studying and enjoy the campus for its beauty, which i tend to forget quite often. A few months after this was recorded I enrolled there! I'm now a junior and loving every moment of it.
oh my god! i love the song! and i fell in love with seattle.... i'm a senior high in philadelphia and want to go to college in seattle, probably UW or SC, i would appriciate if anyone here could tell me anything about it, is it good to move to seattle alone as a college student? is it affordable? safe? overall is it good? because i dont want to end up coming back at my 3rd year....pls anyone thank!
@ssvdr007 its definately expensive, seattle is a pretty cool place.. I like about 30 minutes away, biggest change would be the weather, rains quite a bit, from what I heard its pretty unreal school spirit. I wanna transfer their in the future
@ssvdr007 I love the UW, i'm a junior and i would totally recommend it. It's as safe as any other college this big. You have to like the rain, but it's worth it if you don't. There are a ton of fun places to go and things to see, the setting is really great. hope that helps
@digitalimpulse You're right! My sister always told me about how her legs and calves are getting a work-out from walking around campus even with all the stairs. But I'm sure the beauty of the campus would make you not mind all the walking.
hey do you remember what your sat and gpa was, im an out of state student but my dad used to work at the school. im still a resident of wa, so would this help me out better to get in.
@nigastolemyyoshi1 Hey sry to disappoint you, but I didn't apply for UW. My oldest sister got in. But as for you, residents of WA would have a better chance getting in than do out-of-state and some int'l students b/c UW, like other universities, might want to save more money by not giving that many grants or loans to those other non-resident students. So expect to be more competitive when applying for UW's scholarships and just hope you get a grant or other type of fin. aid. :) Good luck! ^_^
Idk if this helps, But I am an out of state student from California. My SAT is an 1810 and my GPA is a 4.1 (3.8 unweighted). I have been admitted to the engineering college for the fall of 2010 and I cant wait to attend. I hope that helped!
@nigastolemyyoshi1 Yea, I 've just got in UW this year. Even the advivers told me that they would pick in-state student because of HUSKY PROMISE. It's a program that helps students not droping out of school just b/c of financial issue. This is a great school and I really love it. Wish you luck too.
Btw, Washington resident status is easier to achieve than man other states. You can also look at it and work sth out?
And my GPA was 3.43 when i got it. I didn't have SAT b/c I transfered.
This is a great video

Whenever I think of UW I think of Fawzi Khouri that made off with half a million dollars in supplies from Suzzallo in 1996. With a grin.
And George Klim that hired female students to date them.
It is a pretty campus though.

@iSaeKae Depends on your SAT's, and Extra Curriculars and such. I wouldn't worry too much about it, you'll probably get in anyways. :P

@iSaeKae Anything lower than a 3.3 is pressing your luck. I think that avg coming in is about a 3.6.

Well you don't attend but during the making of this video was it a long walk? The #1 complaint i always read is how long it is to get from X to Y.
