  • Are your strands thick or thin? I I have really thick hair with fine thin hair strands. My goal is for it to grow to your length with heat training. I'm def an advocate.

  • Thanks for sharing that is very helpful to know my hair tangles a lot as well. I am still trying to grow it longer but its shedding a lot and I do not know why and when I blow dryer and I keep it dry for more than a week I get dry scalp bad, so I keep it very moist. what is your suggestion on shedding and dry scalp. Please give me some suggestions if you have time. Thank you

  • That's smart.

  • When you asked if your hair looked thin I was like 'PARDON?'

  • hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! hair porn! OH MY! lol

  • Your half braid trick is great advice. It makes me think to be more mindful when I become natural.

  • Your hair is really long and looks very healthy? If you straighten as often as you do how do you achieve this? Thank you.

  • @natrolhi she did a bus on her diet awhile back...look in the retro vids

  • BAM!!! More hair underneath with the braid! What!!!

  • @unointed and you were blessed with humor. Love it and still lmbo. Thank you you miss for keeping it real I hope life is blessing you forward toward your path.peace.

  • Home-girl had a whole nother set of hair underneath everything else!!! Awesome, Thumbs up if you almost past out seeing the rest of her hair hidden under the ponytail :)

  • you're hair looks just like mine when blowdried! Just a whole lot longer. this gives me so much inspiration, thanks!:)

  • you're hair looks just like mine when blowdried! Just a whole lot longer. this gives me so much inspiration, thanks!;)

  • You rock!!

  • You are awesome. What you have achieved is amazing. And I love the fact that you are the proof as to what can be done and you know what you are talking about. And see from your videos I thought for the most part you always wore it out. But no, interesting. I love your videos. I know when I watch rhem that I will learn something and I look forward to seeing them. You take such good care of your hair and that's clear.

  • I can dig it!

  • Ive enjoyed you page today,Ive watched it from the beginning. You have motivated me to continue growing my hair and making sure that I take care of it.very educational

  • Post a hair lenth update plzzz!

  • lol....who would think to ask a question about relationships or relationship advice while watching a hair video or a hair tutorial. I don't blame you.

  • Wow people need stop asking dumb questions shes black with long hair talk act like its to good to be true

  • Okay thx N so what did u do when u do nt blow dry? N how many times did u co wash??

  • I agree with you entirely about not sharing your personal life on youtube! time and place for everything!

  • I love your bun technique but wanted to see how you put it back in.

  • You are beautiful. And so is your hair. I have noticed since I started eating healthy, my skin is becoming radiant and my hair and nails are growing like crazy. I wondered ,do have a special diet or if you take special vitamins regularly?

  • Am wondering if you had you hair in a afro it would meets the guiness records

  • Completely unrelated, but I love your eye makeup it looks amazing!

  • What is your race?

  • I have the same problem with the back of my hair tangling.

  • I'm curious..how do you tie the elastic band around your ponytail?

  • cool tatoe on your neck

  • I really like your videos and the fact that you don't put all your personal life out there for the world to see and criticize. Good Job!

  • How does your hair look when you don't blow dry or flat iron it? Is it super curly or can you wear an erica badu type fro? :D

  • I love your hair:)

  • I love your hair....gorgeous :)

  • you have the best hair on youtube.

  • Dora

  • I would like a tutorial on how to do this bun and maybe an explanation or idea of how to do it on shorter natural hair. Thank you. :D

  • Whoops, bids was supposed to be vids. Darn auto-correct!

  • Yes, I too love your hair. Thx for the bids. They encourage me. How long do you usually leave your bun in? Do you use a daily leave-in or something to smooth your hair?

  • Can you show your hair in it's natural stay in 1 video please :)

  • You are very mature. I appreciate that you are so straightforward but also candid. Ladies should always keep something for themselves only, and I agree about not sharing your life with the world. I am a singer and the reason I am not pursuing a record deal as an artist is because I'm not feeling the idea of paparazzi or my life under a magnifying glass. I just had to comment on that. I know I'm just a random person but I like your swag. Lol.

  • Girl you do not have to apologize. People need to mind their business. Your channel is for hair and that's all it should have to be about:)

  • @curlynappy1988 Well said!

  • A while ago you posted a video with your sister as she began her hair journey. Just wondering where she is now...?

  • In this video, I got the impression that your hair is blow-dried only? If so, do you find this easy to manage on, say, a weekly basis? As an alternative to pressing/flat-ironing? My hair is thick, and getting hard to manage without pressing...

  • wow. revealing the braid was a slap in the face! love your channel, girl.

  • I luv your hair!!! I have been natural for 3 yrs. now with set backs. I have so many different textures of hair on my head which is why my hair has different lengths. I was wondering why I was having so much trouble with growing it out. Last year I began taking care of it differently by purchasing multiple products to address the variety of hair and noticed quite a difference in the growth of my hair this year. Please address this issue to other viewers who may be incurring this same problem.

  • Lol @ u watch Basketball Wives

  • i've been looking for septum piercings but i cant find continuous ones like yours (they['re all earrings) where do you get yours? and have u ever tried a captive bead? i know tryed and it was painful to get in and the bead didnt even snap. any advice on that?

  • @lilmami4lyfe867

I purchased it from ebay. 5 dollars for 2. I don't know the name of the seller because it is deleted from my history. The captive bead on me reminds me of a nose dripping...so I go for the "bull" look instead for those who feel my septum jewelry makes me look like one lol. I have no advice except to guide either end of the hoop into the grooves simultaneously(you may need pliers with plastic coverings to help you)..it is kind of tricky i'll admit. Good luck!

  • @lilmami4lyfe867 They sell continuous rings at bodyartforms. com. Just type "segment rings" in the search box. Hope this helps. .....I'm not spamming btw. Just helping out! :-)

  • I loove your hair. I show your vids to my lil sisters, who's hair I maintain, as inspiration for them to embrace their natural hair... and that #blackhairgrowslongToo. Keep em coming!!

  • Good for you! Love the hair vids always, and good that you put limits on your exposure.Sometimes that's just the best decision! Keep makin' those hair vids we appreciate them!

  • Your hair is AMAZING! I want it!!

  • Great idea.

  • WOOOOOWWWWW (AMAZED FACE)!!!! So u revealed the braid and I'm thinking the top portion was a full head of hair.....UR HAIR is AWESOME, no Seriously it is.

  • i really respect the fact that youre not going to vlog or talk about your personal life. Everybodys starting to do that now and for people who make videos, there probably is a level of pressure put on yall by people like me who dont make vids, to open up about personal stuff or give us advice, or do bf/husband tags etc.

Anyway your hair vids are great and good enough for me! lol

  • I love your vids! you give more than just hair porn and bragging about ur length...you actually give tips advice and encouragement! I love your hair journey vids! i show them to all the skeptics in my life who swear black women are just cursed with short hair....

  • Gorgeous hair....:)

  • your hair is just so beautiful, when u revealed the braid underneath i was like "really, more hair" lol

  • Missed you. Good to see you.

  • Has your always been that long??

  • WHAT PRODUCT DO YOU USE TO INFUSE PROTEIN INTO YOUR HAIR FOR STRENGTH ?

    IS NEXXUS EMERGENCEE GOOD ?

  • @earth2air2water

I used nexxus emergencee when i was relaxed..didnt notice a diff. I don't use protein treatments, my hair is pretty much in shape except for my ends which I am slowly trimming.

  • GREAT VIDEO.

    YOU GIVE GREAT ADVICE.

    THANKS.

  • Did you ever use the crest whitestrips( the professional kit)? I thing its ironic that crest whitestrips have a "professional grade" kit...Like, Im not going to go to the dentist to get strips..LOL!! But i like the strips and just wanted to know how these were in comparison to the regular kit in stores...Love you hair girlie!!!

  • What a nice technique!!

  • omg your hair is so thick and gorgeous! love it..so jealous!

  • I also wanted to ask about your hair.....I have dry hair and scalp too and I notice that your hair looks lovely and healthy but not weighed down with moisturisers which is interesting because you wash once per month. How do you maintain moisture without build up and frequent wetting?

  • Yes, yes!!! Please talk about your dental hygienist schooling and how you like it and so on and so forth! I am one who asked about it. :P So curious about that experience! I don't blame you for keeping love life and all that to yourself. Been watching your hair vids for awhile and that sorta stuff just never crossed my mind to be nosy about. Just things you mentioned in vids made me curious and I had been thinking about dental hygienist when you spoke of doing it!

  • Gorgeous hair! I can totally respect why you chose not to incorporate your personal life on your channel.

  • I wish my hair that was long lol

  • you look so pretty

  • Your so creative with hair care and styles! Thanks for sharing with us.

  • haha when u showed that braid i was shocked. and i didnt even think that your hair even looked a little thin.

  • I have watch a lot of videos about how u care ur hair...but U never really explain what's is your frequency of blow dry ur hair? if u cowash every week do u also blow it every week ??maybe u ever explain it, but Im trying to understand everything u said i m not english that's the reason it's so hard ;) thx I really love ur vidéo

  • @RaShel953

I have explained it in diff vids, but I have no problem mentioning it again. 1x per month is when I blowdry. 1x per week to blow is too much for me because the heat would then damage my hair.

  • My husband and I really appreciate all your hair videos! Since he started taking care of my hair he hhas found the natural hair youtubers very informative and you're one of our favorites. Thanks for sharing.

  • OMG

I didnt expect that braid underneath...gosh you have alot of hair!

  • I love how u spoke so candidly as it is your God given right, some ppl have alot of nerve to try to get into your personal life, I'm a new subbie who's enjoying your channel so keep them coming and I will never ask anything that is not hair related and if I can't say anything nice I remain quiet...be Blessed!

  • What do you do to handle breakage on your nape area?

  • Do you have any older videos we can watch? Maybe add it on another channel.

  • @Jolley185 What?

  • @J4L4N

    lol

  • Thanks. I've always been natural but I normally get it cut every few months. I've been growing it out for a yr and a half now. It's getting so long, but now tangling is becoming an issue. I'm definitely going to try this technique!

  • can u show us ur hair before blow drying? Thanks for the video

  • missed you! you look great and thanx for doing this

  • if i could just get 3 straight years with no setbacks!! I adore your hair. Thanks for keeping it classy on youtube!

  • I like this video. Please do a video on how you made it into a bun. Thanks

  • :O secret braid! it was so thick before you revealed that loool. inspired

  • My God your hair is super thick, that bottom braid is twice as much hair as I have on my entire head.

  • OMG that's exactly what I do to protect my hair.

  • ah coolness! I did something similar [more out of desperation] when I first began to transition... the very back of my hair by my neckline was so badly damaged & choppy I just parted off an inch and made 4 little braids which I had to bobby pin into to my new-growthy/still permed bun for a while... kept them heavily moisturized and separate from everything else, re-braided them every other day or so/ and a year+ later [+ a sorta big chop too] these little braids are the longest sections! :D

  • @gigimc Wish I had thought of that....... :)

  • mad hair yo

  • I completely agree with you on the whole not-sharing-your-personal-life-on-the-internet. Quite frankly, people will survive without knowing other people (who live hundreds of miles away) business. Thank you for this protective tip! I have to braid the back of my hair in a mini braid and try this! :D

  • I like when women don't talk about their personal lives on youtube,.. or when they change their direction of their hair and make up channel into personal journal channel....once you go down that road people are going to keep asking personal questions that you may not want to answer. I seen it happen on other channels.. now they have tons of stalker trolls asking them mean personal questions and rating their videos down because they have something against their personal live

  • I don't blame you if you do not want to share your personal life, that is your choice. I appreciate all the hair advice, tips and techniques that you provide. I can't believe someone would say your hair is ugly, your hair is beautiful. There is always someone that will be negative no matter what you do, forget the haters.

  • So do you blow dry your hair and then put it in the bun?

  • love your hair!

  • Can you go over foods that you can and can't eat when you have braces?? I'd love that.

  • great video! can you show how you actually twist your hair into the bun? thats what i have difficulties doing is getting it into the bun shape lol

  • No personal. Well said longhair

  • Thank u for these awesome videos!

  • I'm gonna try this. Btw luv ur tattoo. What's it symbolize???

  • Girl ur hairRRR Beautifull xoxo

  • shes awesome...and her hair is GORGEOUS!

  • yea, nobody needs to know your business like that!

im tired of all the people constantly asking questions about people's spouses or significant others or children on youtube... we dont need to see all of that! T_T

  • Well said! Your a strong character and that's why I like your advice and tips

  • Do you oil your scalp?

  • Your hair is so naturally beautiful and incredibly healthy. I've been watching your vids for awhile now & appreciate your candor when it comes to your personal life. Some things are not for public consumption and should remain private. I've been natural for a few years now and would never go back to chemicals. I love how your hair is pretty much the same length all over. I wish mine would grow that way, but alas it IS growing and I hope to be mid back length soon. Your length is just amazing!

  • lol your hair did not look thin to me at all...and then you showed the braid and my jaw dropped! your hair is amazing.

  • Oh sweetie you have he most beautiful hair and if they had a permanet glue I would want yiour hair gued to my head and I would continue to wear it natural. Love ya!

  • Good to see you back. I have missed your videos and I keep my personal business off of YT myself.

  • wow it's crazy how some people are so nozy it's never been and never will be that big of a deal for me lol do they really?wow they must b lonely or crushing on you too FUNNY!

  • I have to commend you. Ive sub to your chanel but never put a comment, so this is my first. I like watching your hair videos, etc. but I have to big up wat u say abt not wanting to open up and talk abt your personal life etc. well done!! Im all for people that stay focused. I know people divert just to please the public, n keep their videos interesting. But if hair is the reason you started this chanel, then hair it is. Ye not everyone really cares. You already an inspiration. Thank you!

  • YOU'RE AWESOME.....just saying :)

  • I hate you....*weeps in corner*

  • So you've been growing your hair for 7 going on 8 years now? By the way do u have a video of you creating that bun?

  • Amen for not talking about your relationship business. People ask me all the time too.

  • I love ur hair AND ur channel..Hey, I believe you are a very WISE young lady and there is NOTHING wrong with with keeping it real.... :)

  • My hair is thick like yours but I have a longggggggg way to go to catch up. . I find I tend to take my braids out myself because hair stylist tend to be too rough with your hair . Anways I would have like to see how you managed to actually do that twist, and how many inches does your hair grow a year?

  • @averymlewis

Approx 4-5" I believe. Sometimes I keep it all, sometimes I have to trim.

  • Rupunzell ain't got nothing on you!!! :)

  • @honestandreliable001 omg....lol

  • @honestandreliable001 Neither does pocahontas. :)

  • great idea for protective style with the bottom portion braided. thanks for the vid!

  • I love u and your videos for what it is. Love that bun

  • Hey, don't blame the people for wanting more of you, being as down to earth and charming as you are! Lol, on a more serious note -- I've been wanting to say thanks for a while now since you continue to be my inspiration not to relax my hair. For some reason when I consider relaxing, I think about the video(from a little while back) of you encouraging your sis even though she had suffered major hair damage.

  • @lustypiratebellamy

I'dlike to thank you as well for sticking around long enough to remember that lol. I don't make vids for praise, but your words are appreciated :)

But as the saying goes "be careful who you open up to. only a few people actually care, the rest are just curious"

  • Thank you for making the point that poor hair care techniques can lead to breakage. Since I got smooth, seam free combs and learned to be way more gentle with my hair I have kept so much more growth. Thanks for sharing.

  • If someone told you your hair was ugly I would smack them for you! lol

  • THANK YOU!!!! I've been telling people that same thing, your hair grows but it breaks off due to different techniques and styling methods and thats why people think their hair doesn't grow!!! Thanks so much for sharing!! I love all of your vids!!

  • Your hair is beautiful!

  • Wise girl :). Keep up the good work!

  • UMMMMM>> IT DIDN'T LOOK THIN.... huffs... i feel jealous....

  • Ahh the hair that you had out loose is what most pepole have on their entire heads :P You were definitely blessed with lovely thick hair :D

  • Very clever! Do you always blow dry or flat iron your hair? How often?

  • question: if i pin up my ends do you think that would help save them, they look a little thin. love your hair! chrissy

  • awesome idea, it was like magic when u pulled out the plait underneath LOL...I also went out and got the cream beeswax...I have't used it on my whole head just the ends of a few twists and I really like it...thank u for sharing

  • LOL omg that braid is so thick. i love your hair.

  • hey! don't know if this is considered personal.... i hope not... if so obvs feel free to not reply, but what does your tattoo mean??

also... your hair did not look thin before revealing the braid... let me know if you ever don't want your hair ;)

  • Wow! Thats exactly how i do my buns. I always braid the back portion.

  • thanks for the quick for reply!

  • @Longhairdontcare2011 Aww thanks :) I never had braces but I've always kept up on their care.

  • your makeup is lovely. wel, it;s especially lovely to me becasue i never see anyone who does makeup wearing glasses once the look is completed, and in my case I feel like when I do my makeup, especially my eyes, and then put on my glasses, it never looks exactly how I want it to look. And my lenses are not even thick, just very strong. your hair is also lovely, but it always is :)

  • I like your bun technique. I have never seen a half braided, half out bun. Thanks for the tip.

  • I appreciate you setting your boundaries and completely agree some things are just too personal. Your hair is gorgeous and your personality is beautiful. Keep making great hair vids :)

  • @thecurlycamshow

Thanks for checking out my channel! Your hair looks great and I love your teeth!

  • "wow" was what I said when you lifted the top portion back! Cause I didnt even think your leave out looked thin! Wonderful hair care!

  • Just when i think a perm sounds BETTER you give me HOPE again ;)

  • "wow" was what I said when you lifted the top portion back! Cause I didnt even think your leave out looked thin! Wonderful hair care!

  • I love your beautiful hair, I have started my natural journey because of you! I did my B/C July 20, 2011 and now all I need is a good trim, to even my hair out!

  • Great video! I never would have thought you had braided your hair! I have been natural for two years but I do not have enough lenght to do the bun like you suggested. I believe it is because of different styling methods so now that I know better I will go for more protective styles using scarves and materials. Is there a method that has worked best for your when if and when used this items. Love you and keep up the great videos. Kay

  • @kianawr

Not to worry if your hair isn't long enough just yet. Hair that is short because of a recent big chop (and not becausethe hair is short because of damage) tends to be very strong and wont suffer the way older hair like mine would without some thought about styling.

    Thank you and take care

  • lovely hair

  • You are my hair idol. I can't wait to achieve your length! Thanx for the vid.

  • @HISWil143

I appreciate that. Gl on reaching your hair goals. You are welcome :)

  • Have you reached your hai
