  • We had a great time playing the family version last night. Then we decided to Play the complex version of the game. We took out the enormous pile of cards from the box, but realized that we would only use very few; 7 occupations and 7 minor improvements each. We felt that the cards didn't really contribute to the game experience; it's really only a Random-factor, and it's impossible to develop a card-strategy, since there is so man cards. Why are the cards good, and why did they make so many?

  • @dahMusicDude It adds variety to the games and gives the main game more replay value. I've found even having only a couple of good cards can unlock whole different strategies than simply building from the resources on the board.

  • @vacantmentality Thank you! :)

  • Nice review Ryan! Impressive how you explain the whole (complex) game in just a few minutes.

Personally, I love this game. It's very different every round, there's a lot of interesting and funny expansions, and it's much fun!

  • Me and my gf play this all the time. It's alot of fun. We got the complete expansion pack that includes all the current expansion decks (doesn't have the horses expansion..) but haven't tried any of them out yet. I recommend the game.

  • What I'd love to see is a review of Agricola's expansion: "Farmers of the moor". There is only one review of it on youtube and it's in Korean (perhaps Tom can help translating). Great job with the reviews Ryan. Keep up the good work!

  • I've been waiting for a review of this game. It seems very cool, and I like how the indirect interaction is what drives the game, not luck.

  • Cool-looking game. I like the look of the components, too.

  • My favorite game!

  • i'm sure its pronounced (Agricoola)

  • @EvilPoet85

No, Ryan pronounced it correctly. It's Latin for "Farmer".

  • It's just not a "Dice Tower Review" without the "let's see what's in the box" with the jazz horns. Sorry.

  • I personally prefer this style of review than going through the rules ^

  • @himdagrt You'll still want to read the rules before you play :P

  • @himdagrt I could not agree more.

  • This was what got me back into boardgames - a stunning piece of design, wonderful. Thanks for the great review :)

  • I was wanting this game before... now, having seen this review, it is a must have! Settlers will have to wait another month now. :)

  • It's funny that your 999th game is published in the Netherlands by 999 games

  • I love this game for its awesomeness.

  • 999 videos! Do you have something special in store for the 1000th?
