I had one. My parent took and sister and I on a tour of Europe in July '65. We saw a kid in San Raphael, using one and my dad asked me if i wanted one. I got and was able to use it but then was no way to easily turn it so I had to stop and reposition it. Also, unlike a bike, there was minimal mechanical advantage, more like a trike. So unless the riding surface was a smooth flat surface 9not asphalted, cement) it was hard work.
