OK tried to give it another chance and I am even more convinced Dion is just a talentless hack. Listen to the emotion in Elvis's voice compared to Dion's bland schreeching. Look at the emotion on Elvis's face compared to Dion's smiling all the way through. The song is a cry for unity and peace, not a nursery rhyme. Simply put Elvis gets it, Celine not even close

I have mixed feelings about this. The effect is amazing, but the duet is what I can't decide on. I think she is trying to hard to outshine Elvis, or rather the voice of Elvis. It seems like the volume is higher on her voice making it seem like Elvis is accompanying her rather than her, him. She holds up pretty good with him but she is nowhere near in the same class as Elvis. He must have been rolling in his grave when they aired this. Good publicity stunt Celine, who's next John Lennon?

Hope this is my last set of comments. Returned to the video of how they did this and completed watching the end of it. Turns out they used two different Elvis films and a body double person for scenes of Elvis back & when Elvis is beyond Celine and her body covers his image.. So one of those photographed as Elvis, was not the real Elvis. Elvis was filmed twice, so his image-triple. The front views are and the singing is him. So I read someone's notes here that said that this was not Elvis.
Okay, just found the answers. Listened again and the part with Elvis was 1968, the year Celine was born. Then I just saw the video on how they created this video with both singing. So they never did sing together, just in this wonderful video creating the effect of a duet. It is a duet, but each sang the same song years apart and then those who put it together did a great job. What year did they sing together? When Elvis died I was only 27 and now I am 61. When I first heard Celine Dion sing she was still a child, and I thought it was about the same time. I would say that Elvis definately is in the top 5 of the world's biggest idols ever... However, i find i aguable if he is number 1. Maybe Michael Jackson is in fact a bigger idol? But then again Michael Jackson was inspired by other people, including Elvis, but Elvis was also inspired by other artists.
To me it seems that either Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson is the number 1 biggest idol of all times. Hopefully time will eventually show us the truth.
