Saw him LIVE in NYC in 84 what a FANTASTIC show. Dude did NOT stop playing for 3 hours. Best Concert at Pier 63 ( maybe pier 61 can't remember). Thanks for all your work that lives on!!!! R.I.P. Stevie we do miss you...gone to soon.
Saw stevie in 84 at the Christchurch townhall in NZ i was 21 and rocked my socks off but the real shock was after the concert going in to one of the few bars open at that time when i walk in and went up to the bar to get a drink who was standing there but Stevie no i did not say something historic all i could get out was hi :) PS i have this DVD its awesome
when you turn down a world tour with david bowie, before your first album even comes out, you know that he wont compromise, he was stevie in the begining, during, and in the end. He turns him down and keeps on keeping on with the milk truck and his real friends. do you think david bowie would have let someone take/share the spotlight for three whole songs. I bet not.
Does`nt get any better than this, Love it, can`t get enough of Stevie Ray Vaughan! Rock me all night, roll me out on the dance floor at dawn, turn it up, & I`ll dance to his music all day out on the lawn!
my dad has a band and he plays all kinds of songs but he never plays srv songs. i asked why one day and he said no one can make the guitar cry like stevie ray vaughan. this vid shows why. johnny copeland is good but stevie puts him to shame with the guitar solo.
Stevie is my Elvis and so much more and as for Mr.Copeland is a true and for real blues man from the word go.God bless bolth, life will never be the same without them.
@DZestmen1 because hes wearing that ugly looking shirt.. i know hes allways been flamboyent but man thats ugly..... i will see you in the big beer taven in the sky stevie, we all miss you so much bro
its funny, right at 3:50 i guess a fog machine is in the background blowing smoke? but i easily mistook it as smoke coming from stevie's strat, cuz man he's on fire here!
its funny, right at 3:50 i guess a fog machine is in the background blowing smoke? but i easily mistook it as smoke coming from stevie's strat, cuz man he's on fire here!
SRV Montreux '85 is some of the most raw and wild stuff I've ever heard in my life. Stevie Ray was from another planet. His studio recordings were fine, but it was in live performance that you got to witness his true gifts. His guitar work was channeled from a higher source. He didn't have to think about it. He played from his heart. Truly amazing.
Get the Montreux concerts on dvd while you can. Just remember that it was filmed 25 years ago, so it has that '80's look and is not in high def.
S.R.V..... so great. I could lay out blues history from Robert Johnston to B.B. King, to Eric Clapton.... to well S. R. V... but damn what a legacy!!!
why the problem with the language??i raised 2 great daughters alone .they watch this with me ,and jeez they turned out to be respected registered nurses,so just keep you kids in a bubble and let them watch the crap on tv.you are an ass in my opinion.
Por favor destinar unos minutes para apreciar el Gran Stevie; la tecla; y el invitado y su fino laburo en esta cadenciosa musica de liberacion del Misissipi.
Love this vid! Johnny was one of the best at playing with Stevie. His style and awareness were great. You can tell Stevie loved it too. I sure did.......scratch that...............DO!!!! Damn. I miss Stevie!
They started out with Cold Shot and Cpland was cold, then Tin Pan Alley, Cpland was smokin' one of my favorite versions, then this,Look at Little Sister, Copland was on fire from 5:31 to 6:45, Stevie got out of the rythem and they melted together in a leed to die for.
Just love it when the guitar player breaks into a lead and the camera zooms into the piano player.. happens so often.. have the producers never seen an actual band???
One thing that really stands out when I see live SRV recordings is all the musicains look like they are having a ball playing and performing.... His music has always made me High:)
I got to hear him and his brother Jimmy play many times around Dallas when they were young, well before Stevie Ray moved to Austin. Austin, Texas the birthplace of some great sounds!
only was lucky enough to see him three times.this is bad mother fucker music.just put a rap or hip hop band in front of them on stage and johnnet copeland and stevie ray would blow them off the stage stevie+johnney= dynamite!!!!! you young people get it please!!!
Para todos aquellos que tengan duda de que el Rock and Roll, blues y R&B es el ritmo del alma e interpretados estos acordes con el Corazón. Escuchen y relajense.
I was lucky enough to get 2nd row seats in Boise the year before he passed away . I never saw such a stage presence , The best tickets I ever bought , bar none . Still my favorite guitarist of all time . Miss so much Stevie .
Man, if only I could find this on CD.
