@ACKTAVATA I think you need to rethink that, just look at his tox report online and tell me what drug killed him.
Over 20 of the best doctors in the country looked at the 44 page autopsy report and they all say drugs had nothing to do with it. Turns out it really was a heart attack.

I tire of the hate on here . Elvis grew up poor among blacks this experience gave him appeal to a variety of audiences. Not an entertainer today shows the type of generosity that he did . Take a look at the backup singers and musicians that appeared with him ( Black ). Despite personal demons the essence of the man was good . Success can destroy with the same vigor as failure.

This is Al Green's song! This version is terrible!!! Micheal Jackson sucked as a singer, but was a great entertainer. Elvis was simply a thief who stole his way to the top, and then died on the throne! :-)

@josiewebber There are good/great songwriters and there are good/great singers. Kristofferson and Dylan are great songwriters, but there singing leaves a lot to be desired. Elvis transcended all this and made that irrelevant. He could sing ALL kinds of music. The Beatles wrote there own music, but to hear them sing country/Gospel would fall flat on my ears. That's what makes Elvis who/what he is. A Perfect voice with a beautiful soul!!

I grew up as an Elvis fan starting in 1968. I heard him sing songs like this and knew he was an incredible singer. It wasn't until I got older, went through a painful divorce AND THEN it hit me. Elvis got me through the bad times when I realized if he could lose someone, ANYONE could lose someone. Elvis is a far better person than I am. He gave so much and had sooooo much talent and humanity. It made me realize, I can get through this. So,Thank you Elvis for getting me though it all. The King!!!

There's something about Elvis saying "hold your warm and tender body next to mine" that simply can't be matched by any other singer. All the ladies out there that appreciate the godlike presence of Elvis will agree. And therefore, this song, sang by any other artist, simply pales by comparison.
