  • give him better music than this

  • this kid has swag overload

  • The first time I saw the video of Jonathan when he was 3, in his GAP shirt and PJ bottoms, it made me feel SO good, I could not stop smiling. I watched it every day! He was having FUN, he loved the music, loved conducting HIS orchestra. He FELT the music and got his whole body into every bit of what he was doing. Now I'm seeing 4 year old Jonathan in a tux, on a podium, standing straight as an arrow, feet nailed to the floor, barely smiling. Is the 4 year old ADULT JONATHAN still having fun?

  • @animalsolm8 >this - so fucking much.

  • @animalsolm8 chill. jumping around a living room is one thing. actually trying to conduct something live is something else entirely. don't presume to know his experience by watching a video of him.

  • "...and a little child shall lead them..."

  • 16 people couldn't tie their shoes by this age.

  • How old is he in this video??

  • I'm so jealous of him XD

  • Shit I remember when I was in kindergarten. I was playing with bells and plastic xylophones and shit. This kid gets to play with a WHOLE orchestra.

  • He's amazing!!! :D

  • This made me think of some sort of god conducting his creation or something haha. Pure brilliance!

  • fc

  • And he conducts all that music from memory, by the way. What a special kid. I love the little smile he gives now and then when the music gets more lively. You can tell he's having a blast. Amazing and very heartwarming. Parents are obviously doing a great job. Congratulations.

  • WOW! A real orchestra for him! All these videos of Jonathan are so special. I still love the 3 year old one!! He has syncopation down!

  • Comment removed

  • TBH with such a small ensemble all you need is the nod of a concert master and ur good to go :P

  • Incredible, bellissimo! Anyway, could it be possible to get the phone number of the girl at 6'.10" :D?

  • he looks like a little hobbit

  • As a College Student and a Violinist, I would be honored to play a pieced conducted by such a wonderful young man. Not only that I can actually follow him. So I see nothing wrong with his conducting at all. So stop hating and behaving like 2 year olds, god, this kid is more mature than some of you guys.

  • Imagine studying violin for 10 years, and then being conducted by a 4 year old. That's a kick in the teeth.

  • @Dan474834 Very true!!! Haha, too funny.

  • he isn't a good conductor sry. His parents have "killed" his childhood.

  • @ZyZy1234Windowslive Get a life man. Get a life.

  • @ZyZy1234Windowslive Get a life man. Get a life.

  • @ZyZy1234Windowslive and everyone else slamming on this kid: What? You think you could do better? HAH! We're the ones sitting on our butts in a computer chair, watching THIS kid conduct a full bodied orchestra at the age of, what? 4? HAHAH! You're all losers! (:D I have a feeling that Jonathan has got a much bigger future. Jealous? Maybe you should post a video about it and see if IT gets 100,000 views and an audience of applauding people! ;D

  • @ProudLilShortie what do you mumble there? Who can pay atention on you. I have just told my opinion. I havent talked with you. You Asshole. How do you know that this is a good conductor? I bet this will be shit of age 18. Youll see that.

  • @ZyZy1234Windowslive I never said he was a perfect conductor, or even a good one, I just said he has potential and will probably go far with it. If you don't think so, you can think that if you like. I'm sure it will get you far. :)

  • @ProudLilShortie listen to him when he plays at the violin. He plays like a pussycat whining. Please dont write me answer I wont write you more but know I am a pianist. I dont think so im not good. I was also singing teacher in a school of Boston. So ,,...

    Dont answer

Bye bye and nice to meet yo

  • @ZyZy1234Windowslive Good for YOU! :D I'm a pianist too! And I sing! And I perform! And, you know what? I bet this kid does all of that too, and he has time and room to grow even more. I hope my point is taken. ;D Have fun teaching! It was nice to meet you too! :)

  • @ProudLilShortie dont talked with you. DONT answer. I am not intresting about this kid.

  • Great Job Jonathan!!

  • Not all members of the Judaism religion are Jews. Some people can convert. Hence, if not all members of this religion are Jews, what is a Jew?

  • Mavvaffanculo!!!

  • I know nothing about conducting, i don't even understand conductor's moves. But, I am absolutely stunned by what i saw here. It's just beautiful watching him. WOW.

  • @sharingheart I can tell you that he conducts much better than many professional conductors out there. This kid has such a bright future ahead of him.

  • Have FUNNNN with music! Express through music! It comes from heart, so let's enjoy this feeling with our heart :)

  • wow!!!!!!!!!! Chandler, please guest him again this season! i want to see him live

  • I was being sarcastic. Naturally, he has tremendous gifts. Are you American?

  • @harrynking777 So now you're racist?!

  • @peace4111 So you are American. What is wrong with being racist? Most don't admit they are. Like them you have been slowly brainwashed by your 'democratic' government so that you label people. Your initial reprimand of my sarcastic comment concerning Jonathan, not realising it was sarcastic shows you have doubts about the talents of Jonathan. If I showed you a million dollars and then said it wasn't much. I'm sure even you would realise I was being sarcastic. Now listen to Mozart. It will help.

  • @harrynking777 a LOT is wrong with being racist. And no, I have no dount about the fact that he has amazing talent. AND I do not label people.

  • @peace4111 How do you explain that all the greatest violinists and pianists were Jews? How do you explain that top positions in practically every field have been and always will be held by Jews. Yet, they make up a minority group in the countries they live in. They were the chosen people. They are a superior race. Look at the facts and you'll find I'm right. However, I'm not a Jew so I'm not biased.

  • @harrynking777 You know what, whatever! I'm not gonna agrue with an ignorant racist.

  • @peace4111 You label people. You described me as a racist. If you had said I made a racist comment or that I was being racist that would not be the same. A racist is somebody who belongs to a group that should not be allowed to teach in schools, work in the police force and certainly not be in public life. Just like the Nazi policies against the Jews. In effect you are worse than a Nazi because you deny it. You, like many others have been covertly brainwashed by years of media opinion. Oh dear.

  • @harrynking777 Lol...there are no "facts"...there aren't any scientific laws that Jews are a superior race...

  • @theaws0m3guy There are also no scientific laws to say that Jews are not a superior race. However, a non-judgemental observation would suggest they are superior.

  • @harrynking777 Why do you think that they are the superior race? (I'm just wondering)

  • @harrynking777 There is a scientifc basis to what I am saying. DNA. We know that genetic characteristics are passed on from generation to generation within a family. Since members of one race tend to bread with members of their own race more than otherwise, DNA of each race is kept mostly within each racial group. Hence, each race will have its general charactersics. If this were not the case there would be no variation in the races of humans. We would all be one race.

  • @harrynking777 Jew isnt even a race hurr durr..

  • @Dorschdy How do you explain that Jews have been persecuted? Anti-semitism? If a Jew is not a race what is it?

  • @harrynking777 well you answered yourself, if jews were a race it d be called homicide :(

  • @harrynking777 if a jew isn't a race... a jew is a member of the religion of Judaism...

  • @harrynking777 The last group of immigrants always push their children to excel. The Jewish people have assimilated, and now the Koreans and other Asian immigrants dominate the top positions in art music. And science and math. I wonder who will be next.

  • this boy is amazing, i would be sooo proud of him

  • Just hope this is on his own initiative and not his parents...

  • @desse56 It's all his own initiative. It became very apparent when he was only 9 months old. His legs and his arms would follow the music at such a beautiful beat that it was fascinating to watch. This is his passion "CONDUCTING'

  • @brunir718 Glad to hear :)

  • @brunir718 Can't be truth, can it? I mean I believe you but at the same time I can't imagine it :D. I mean I used to fool around on piano at age of 3 already too, but not as professional as this^^ Would be a great story for a film, wouldn't it?

  • Bravooo!!!!

  • Could be another Gustav Mahler! Look out, world... here come's Maestro Jonathan! BRAVO!

  • Comment removed

  • He is so gifted. He's like 5 now, imagine what he'll be like when he's older. He is a prodigy i must say. He's brilliant:)

  • He seems hesitant to give the hungarian passionate energy, I prefer to conduct that one with wild passion, but he is quite good.

  • @ThePianoMan173 Yes, for a 4 year old he should know better and instill the orchestra with more inate hungarian energy and passion. There's really no excuse.

  • @harrynking777

There is really no excuse for you to make this comment. Shame! Look at the potentials and gift of this boy and admire it instead of being malicious in trying to make a "professional" comment!

  • @harrynking777

  • He actually conducts quite well, though i found one hard to find occassionally from his circle sticking (may have been video lag) and has a good sense of time. he seems quite nervous here, but his conducting style shines through occassionally. they should hadve given him a podium.

  • What title is it?

  • may i know what's the name of the piece that starts at 04:47?

  • And it just so happens that Hungarian Dance no. 5 is my absolute FAVORITE. Go little guy!

  • Jonathan is even more exciting to watch conducting this orchestra than when he's playing his own instrument. I've also watched the home conducting videos, and it's so amazing to see that he has received this wonderful opportunity. Congrats! And continue!

  • OMG SOOO CUTE!

  • I bet he had to sell ALOT of lemonade for that suit!, But anyways great job! '_'

  • That's he was born for

  • I promise you, This will go viral!!! OMGOSH...THIS IS AMAZING!!!!

  • @zandercamps will you repeat it on all of his vids?

  • amazing!! bravo!!!

  • I don't care if you are a musician or not, but this kid is inspiriing to say the least. And he's got something. If nothing else, it's his love of music... this is a thrill for anyone to watch. Thanks for posting and good luck Jonathan!! I'll be following your career...!

  • He made my day! It would have been ashame if that kind of talend wouldn't have beed discovered.

  • Does Jonathan have a YouTube or Facebook page?

  • @camdougler

    Yes, Facebook - Jonathan Okseniuk

  • what is the song at 2:48

  • @712nickfilm Hungarian Dance No. 5 by Johannes Brahms

  • Bravo! Já o havia visto em outro vídeo sensacional.

    Artur S Maciel BH/MG.

  • man, I love his interpretation, if he made this interpretation of the song!!!!

  • That kid is amazing! he has an awesome talent hope he'll keep it up (;

  • Well done Jonathan, brilliantly music conducted perfectly and beautiful conducting technique.

Good luck for the future as I'm sure you will do well

    Pilgrim

  • he is not 3, at least 5

  • @vins555 At the time of his first video he was 3 years old. Jonathan was 4 when this video was taken. He has just turned 5

  • It baffles me as to why there are four dislikes.

  • @MadAl0 because they are jealous:)

  • He's adorable!!!

  • ok. For all of you criticizing a 4 year old.. please stop being so jealous and sorry that you never did anything with your life. I AM a musician and conductor, and while Jonathan lacks certain technique (because he's 4...DUH.,) he OBVIOUSLY knows the pieces, and I'm pretty sure not many people on the planet can say the same. He is NOT beating time throughout. It's not like tapping your toe to the beat. Watch his movement. When the music is soft, his pattern is small.. he is conducting PHRASES

  • @9999dgk I completely agree. All these people criticizing need to attempt this themselves. I am also a musician/conductor/teacher, and the natural appreciation this child has for music is astounding. He physically understands the nuances intended by the composer and created by the music. I, for one, look forward to seeing him grow and develop musically. Thank you - for (being one of the obvious minority) understanding music! :)

  • @9999dgk you're right. i m studying for so many years and my dream is to be a conductor. i feel that i don't have what it takes to be one, yet. and here we are watching a little kid. as you say, its not out of jealousy, but this kid is just a machine.

  • @9999dgk I absolutely AGREE! I too am a musician and pianist all my life and had studied in rather "world-class" institutions and teachers myself and have been around these types...as a fellow musician I can also assure this little boy is NOT just "coached".

  • he is genuinely musical. in fact he reminds me of MY childhood days when I would be "lost" listening to those old 33 rpm records of great music, and also "conduct" as I imagined how "movement" might be. and Jonathan is entirely WITH the music. BRAVO to him, his parents and those that encourage him such as the chamber orchestra in the video. he is a JOY to ANY musician and listener.

  • This boy not just enjoys music. He does everything and sometimes more that he must to do as a conductor. Not every man, who is an adult conductor, could do this so well. I'm saying this because I have some musical experiance. So I guess, he will be one of the best conductors, because he can do it much better than many others.:)))

  • continued - the fact that there was a comment of being a natural conductor strengthens my point. And to everyone I am not seeking to take away the musical enjoyment the child is experiencing but just seek to enlighten those who could see this in a wrong light.

  • Hey Jonathan, maestro Gustavo Dudamel is watching you on video, conducting the chamber orchestra doing Beethoven String Quartet in C Minor....and he's sooo proud of you!! Keep doing at it, Jonathan!!

  • Don't forget who is acually playing the music...

  • he can do the real deal too! Now sing the kid to bed with a metronome and he'll be a fantastic conductor before most kids will be able to play "Hot Cross Buns" on their recorders

  • hilarious!!! absolutley amazing, have no words!:) God Bless!:)

  • FidelisNox, you sir, are an ass. He's 4 appreciate his natural sense of music, and If

you actually watched he didn't only beat time, he translated dynamics, emotion, cues, and the beat. Was it perfect obviously no. Wasn't absolutely stunning in reference to his age, yes.

  • He's like a party animal this is not proper conducting. This is him waving his arms around and beating time. He may be a fantastic time beater but not a conductor. It is not possible for a four year old to conduct.

  • @FidelisNox Just like it's not possible for a 4-year-old to play the violin? Jonathan does that, too. Does he play like a virtuoso? No. Does he conduct like a master? No. Neither Jonathan nor his parents have ever claimed he is some prodigy. He's a young boy who delights in music. What he is doing has not been represented by them with some pretentious air of being masterful. They have merely chosen generously to share Jonathan's exuberance and love for music with the rest of us.

  • @FidelisNox If you look at his 8th video I would say he has already improved, in just a period of a couple of weeks. But then I'm not a conductor.

  • @FidelisNox don't be such and arse! It's a little boy, who's obviously very musical, having fun - and a group of musicians who are being very good-hearted in making it a nice experience for him - which hopefully will inspire him to become a "proper" musician, as you call it.

It's a kid having a good time with music - and that's what you need to enjoy!!

  • A born conductor.

  • do not have words...

  • Music is play for this wonderful child. He is doing what he wants. He is the genuine article, and not a contrived prodigy. Thanks to his parents for letting him be himself and for making these well-deserved opportunities available. He conducts as if he were born already knowing music.

  • Per fortuna non è nato in Italia.

  • Woooow bravo!

  • @docalaurent et tu t'y connais tellement que tu peux dire ça.

  • @docalaurent Up your pipe, you lowlife French piece of merde!

What else can we expect from someone whose country gives Jerry Lewis the Legion of Honor

  • @docalaurent When Jonathan conducts Strauss' "Thunder and lightening Polka" the orchestra DOES follow the youngster as the piece ends; you're just another stupid, bigoted Frog that has to throw sand into anything delightful; go back to watching Jerry Lews; we Americans consider him to be largely like you, utterly retarded!

  • @SatchmoSings

vos insultes prouvent votre niveau de bêtise... vous ne rendez pas service à cet enfant en vous conduisant ainsi !

  • @docalaurent You're the stereotypical Frenchman that is just so easy to hate; as the Brits say, "Where does a Frenchman hide his gold? Answer: UNDER THE SOAP!!" lol

  • GO JONATHAN!!!

  • How cool is this? I've seen the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin about 9 years ago. They were great, and saw Jonathan in a video a couple of months ago for the first time. What a surprise to see this!

  • I believe that reincarnation explain prodigies. Mum and Dad can only see it and help to open the doors to them...Great job Jonathan, I adore you.

  • Good job, Jonathan, BRAVO !!! Keep going to make sure that your musicians always realy play the game, Like conduct the 4th movement of Beethoven's 5th Symphony, the most amazing one when you were younger with great appropriateness and joy. Thank you

  • seriously, his parents should write a book in how to raise a child in the classical music's envoronment. Good Job to the parents, thats how i believe we had bach, mozart and beethoven in our lives...

  • Wonderful!!!!

  • Bravo!!

  • I originally saw this great kid in the video of him conducting Beethoven's 5th Symphony, 4th mvmt, in the family room at home, at age 3. He was having such fun! Now, I want to know who's telling him to be so serious as he conducts? I was hoping he would be bringing that same wonderful exuberance to this conducting gig!

  • @mechapm From what I can guess, it looks like the concert took place Sat., Feb. 26, 2011, 8:00 pm Pacific Time. Jonathan's performance was at the end of the concert - say 9:00/9:30 pm or later. Since Jonathan lives in Arizona (1 hour difference) his body clock would have been 10:00 pm or later. Pretty late for a 4-year old. My guess is it was past his bed time and he was exhausted . . . but he nevertheless pulled it off like a champ! I still see the smiles and joy in him.

  • @mechapm It would be wonderful if we could live in a world of three year old exuberance and innocence. it would be somewhat chaotic, but wonderful. It is udnerstandable that Jonathan would be more seirous as he has moved into the world of expectations, but at the end of the pieces you can see his joy. you can see it in his facebook too. His later endeavors will be different, but wonderful. And we will still have the wonderful video of three year old jonathan!!!

  • @mechapm The real challenge may come when he turns 5 and begins to see more of the world of children. I have faith in his parents (and grandfather) to steer him through that. Six will be easier :) And he has so many adventures ahead of him.

  • AMAZING-BRAVO

  • Bravo!!

  • This little boy makes every day of my life good...I start in the morning to see this video, its makes me happy. Go on Jonatan, you will become a Great Man!!!

  • There are some very strange people out there with computers, some of whom have made absurd comments here. Whether the child is a budding genius or an extraordinary mimic (which requires an other extraordinary talent at 4 years of age) there is something good happening here if he is not paraded out regularly as a performing chimp. I think the naysayers should seek therapy.

  • @rpmcestmoi Trust me. Mimicry can't handle those abrupt tempo changes.

  • This talent is enormous enough to stop a war -- or to make an atheist believe in God.

  • Феноменально!

  • It's past life recall.

  • Brilliant, simply brilliant.

Can I play Hungarian Dance No. 5 with Jonathan conducting? :D

  • Wow! Amazing!

  • INCREIBLE.........

  • BRAVO!!! Levine will be retiring soon. You are the rightful heir Jonathan!!!!!

  • The kid's got it, but I would encourage his parents to start him with a good teacher.

The passion is great, but he needs someone to steer him away from the bad habits of the conductors he is emulating.

  • Many, many sincere thanks should be extended to Misha Rachlevsky for being so kind and gracious in giving this opportunity to Jonathan. I am sure the thrill of this experience will be a huge encouragement to this young boy as he continues to grow musically. And many thanks to the ensemble as well for so good-heartedly supporting this experience. Your kindness will surely leave a lasting impression on Jonathan, one which I hope he will carry forward as he matures and shares with future audiences.

  • @gdkufchak People are, for themselves, jealous. So I'm astonished with his conducting! I'm not a formed musician, but I sing and I'm very "musical" and with some knowledge and experience in being conducted in chorous. This boy has a precious way... But after that, he must be a child and I hope his family respect that!

  • @gdkufchak

What a lovely gesture by the conductor and the orchestra. Thank goodness there are still people who don't take themselves too seriously!

  • How WONDERFUL!!!!! And I thought I wouldn't live long enough to see him conduct a professional orchestra!! Thank you Jonathan and parents for this!!!

  • Why didn't I know he'd be here? I would definitely have gone!

  • @grandmagrumpy Me too!

  • good orchastras can perform about 95% of a piece without a conductor...

  • @VinylIsForever But no orchestras are willing to play for a sucker! I don't know what you were able to do at your age of four....Even it is just a show, he did much better than we were, even right now in my age.

  • @VinylIsForever I think his enthusiasm is much more impressive than his current talent level.

  • BRAVO! BRAVO! absolutely breath taking

  • YAY!!!!!

  • He would be very great! if he keeps studing orchestra conduction !

  • wooooooooooooooo

  • bravo~great job~i'm so proud of you~~~~xoxo
